Overview
Reports to the Ground Operations Manager
The Ramp Agent will be responsible for:
- Assisting the movement of aircraft on the ramp or dock;
- Assisting in preparing aircraft for flight;
- Loading and unloading freight;
- General upkeep of ground facilities and aircraft;
- Perform any other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Grade 9 education, or equivalent
- Previous experience in a ramp/hangar setting is considered an asset
- Experience operating a Forklift is considered an asset;
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment;
- Effective communication skills;
- Ability to work shift work;
- Successful completion of an aviation related education is considered an asset;

Summary:
Ramp Agents are responsible for facilitating the turnaround of aircraft (arrivals and departures). Ramp Agents, under the guidance of Lead GSA’s direct aircraft into the gate, load, unload and sort all luggage and freight, de-ice the aircraft, service lavatories, fill the aircraft’s portable water supply and direct the aircraft during gate push-back.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for maintaining safety and security of the ramp at all times.
- Assist in ramp set up and storage of equipment and baggage.
- Actively participates in the Safety Management System. (SMS)
- Marshal aircraft on the ramp, includes directing, assisting and parking all arriving, departing and towed aircraft
- Responsible for courteous, prompt, accurate and careful handling of customer baggage and airfreight (if applicable), including loading and offloading aircraft, sorting and transfer of baggage to carousels.
- Service aircraft as needed i.e. aircraft lavatories, potable water fills, cabin grooming and deicing.
- Observe safe ground-handling procedures and maintenance of ground service equipment, including the performance of equipment checks.
- Comply with all safety procedures and airline policies.
- Constantly communicate with flight crew personnel and other ground personnel.
- Actively participate in SA’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazard and incidents encountered in daily operations. Understand, comply with and promote the company Safety Policy.
- Participate in training to comprehend, implement, and maintain all quality objectives as stated in our Quality Management System to ensure delivery of desired levels of operational safety and security.
- All employees are responsible for ensuring quality control in their own activities.
- Cooperate fully with Inspectors to achieve quality inspection commitment.

- Greet incoming and prepare departing aircraft
- Assist in aircraft movement, placement, and storage as a wing walker
- Fulfill pilot's service requests
- Receive, store, transfer, and dispense petroleum fuel products
- Operate motorized fueling vehicles (fuel tank trucks, automatic transmission)
- Fuel and de-fuel aircraft per requirements
- Inspect fueling equipment and vehicles - report malfunctions or inconsistencies
- Perform accurate fueling calculations
- Fuel ground support equipment (gasoline r diesel) as required
- Interact with carrier personnel
- Utilize hand-held radios, telephones, and computers for communication
- Complete and submit all documentation associated with fueling activities
- Respond to fuel emergencies (i.e. fuel spills) utilizing emergency response cart and follow established environmental/company guidelines

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Marshalling aircraft in and out of the aerodrome
Ability to operate Ground start equipment
Aircraft deicing and anti-icing
Baggage loading and unloading
Ability to operate various ground equipment.
Greet and check-in passengers for their flights, verifying documents and identification.
Manage gate operations and flight closure.
Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to teamwork with fellow employees, pilots, flight attendants and other contractors.
Organize the safe loading and unloading of passengers to and from buses.

Pacific Coastal Airlines is headquartered at the South Terminal building at Vancouver International Airport. We fly scheduled and charter service between busy international airports, remote destinations in beautiful province of British Columbia.
Job Responsibilities:
- Check-in passengers, issue boarding passes, verify immigration documents
- Check baggage and collect excess baggage/overweight charges
- Answer calls, book, change and cancel flight reservations
- Resolve service disruption issues such as canceled or missed flights, determining alternative flight options
- Execute deplaning and boarding processes, ensuring a safe, on-time departure
- Process cargo shipments
- Marshall, de-ice, and anti-ace aircraft
- On-load and off-load passenger luggage, cargo, containers/pallets, etc.
- Possess an excellent understanding of company products, services, processes, and guidelines and promote them at all times
- Commitment to providing a safe, stress-free, and friendly passenger experience
- Deliver service standards in accordance with Pacific Coastal Airlines philosophy
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Experience in customer-facing role
- A valid driver's license
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
- Clear and effective communication skills with a demonstrated ability to have difficult conversations
- Ability to work in a time-sensitive, ever-changing environment where multitasking and problem-solving are key attributes
- Comfortable using computers, credit, and debit machines
- Able to work outdoors during inclement weather conditions
- Flexible to work any day of the week, including weekends, evenings, holidays and/or irregular shifts
- Must represent Pacific Coastal Airlines in a professional manner to our partners, vendors, and customers
- Must be able to obtain and maintain designated security clearance
- Capable of lifting up to 70 pounds
