Your Role as Sales Assistant

At COBS Bread, we celebrate fresh. Our Sales Assistants are experts in freshness, and in giving our customers a great in-bakery experience. Right now, we are looking for personable Sales Assistant to share their enthusiasm for all things fluffy and sweet with our loyal customers. No experience necessary- just the right attitude and a willingness to learn.

What Your Day Looks Like

  • Work as part of a small team, providing an exceptional customer experience, and getting to know your regular, loyal customers
  • Be responsible for merchandising product and executing marketing campaigns
  • Work alongside your team to keep the bakery clean, and assist with production as needed. (Yep- you’re going to learn how to do some baking!)

+ Be alert to competitive products and practices and keep management informed of market conditions, competitive scope and approach and any trends in the market place.
+ Prepare and assist with various sales reports. This includes bids, proposals, quotes, sales forecasts, expense reports, and SFDC engagement and utilization. Also submit any special reports to create white papers, showcase wins, acceptance of products, or other data as may be required.
+ Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, sales blitzes, committee activities, conventions and trade shows as directed. Participate in other worthwhile community activities as public relations asset to the company.

  • Answers customer inquiries regarding orders, deliveries, parts identification, warranties, and stock availability.
  • Actively makes customers aware of product promotions.
  • Proactive in assisting the warehouse with shipping and receiving of parts, supplies, and equipment.
  • Receives and processes customer orders.
  • Is constructive and proactive in providing feedback on inventory levels within the branch.
  • Diligent with the accuracy of inventory within the branch
  • Assists with merchandising of products in the showroom (replenishment, arrangement)
  • Informs customers of standard procedures or resolution of the problem.
  • Determines the best method to resolve problems to ensure customer satisfaction and company adherence to policies.
  • Practices safe material handling techniques.
  • Generates invoices for counter sales orders.
  • Participate in a call schedule for after-hours customer service.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Possesses excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of effective selling methods.
  • Possess a minimum of 1 year of HVAC/R sales experience.
  • Possesses a good knowledge of most HVAC/R systems and the ability to demonstrate and discuss with customers.
  • Have a working knowledge and complete understanding of how to process orders, quotes, credits, and backorders on the computer.
  • Understands basic inventory, warehousing, and stocking procedures.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Works easily with others in a high-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills (verbal, written, and listening).
  • Be energetic and self-motivated.
  • Maintain a business-like manner at all times.
  • Dedicated to continuous improvement.
  • Possesses basic Microsoft Office skills.
