Aslan Technologies has a manufacturing/fabrication position available for a person who will construct/assemble equipment for water/wastewater treatment, chemical dosing and metering systems; This position requires a candidate who can work primarily at jobsites that may be outdoors and in all weather conditions. These remote jobsites are typically within 3 hours of our shop located in Burlington but may be further on occasion.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Mechanically and electrically hook up equipment in Aslan’s test area
- Accurately and to a high level of quality assemble threaded and solvent welded PVC/CPVC pipe spools including instruments, valves, and devices.
- Accurately and to a high level of quality assemble threaded Stainless-steel pipe spools including instruments, valves, and devices.
- Safely, and with a high level of comfort and accuracy use hand tools and small machine equipment. Including but not limited to;
- Hand drills for use in carbon and stainless-steel drilling and tapping.
- Angle grinders for both cutting and grinding
- Pipe cutter/threader
- Drill press/Mill
- Miter saw – for PVC or wood
- Concrete drill – Impact/coring
- Transit/shovel/rake/level
- Safely, and with a high level of comfort climb ladders into and out of tanks or onto structures
- Understanding of required safety devices
- Walk over uneven ground carrying loads that may exceed 50lbs
Education and Experience
- Positive attitude
- 3-Years minimum of related experience.
- Manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Be physically capable of
- walking on uneven ground
- carrying loads
- working outside in varying weather conditions
- Understanding of fluid system assembly and best practices for handling instruments, valves, and devices.
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to a sudden change in plan
- “G” Driver’s license.
- Excellent communication skills and team player who is respectful of others
Work Environment
- Offsite constructional like environment and occasional manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, grinding, vapor, dust and lubricants
- Must adhere to company safety policies and wear the required personal protective equipment as needed
Physical Demands
- Required to stand, bend, walk, sit, use hands for electrical wiring equipment, talk, and hear
- May occasionally lift or products and supplies up to 50 pounds
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools, wire cutters and other machinery
Travel
- 85% travel required for this position

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Head of Delivery, the Site Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing all on-site activities for our commercial construction projects. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining quality standards and adhering to regulations. This role is client-facing and will work collaboratively with franchise owners, trades, subcontractors, building officials, and the other Archmill House/Solutions team members. This position requires extensive travel and onsite work based upon project schedule. Projects typically last from one to four weeks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project Supervision : Oversee day-to-day operations at construction sites, ensuring adherence to plans, schedules, and safety protocols.
- Team Management : Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, laborers, and other construction-related personnel, providing guidance and direction to ensure efficient workflow.
- Quality Control : Monitor work progress and quality, conduct regular inspections, and address any issues or deviations from plans to maintain high construction standards. Own the Re-Image brand standards and ensure projects are completed to client satisfaction.
- Safety Compliance : Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations, protocols, and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel on-site.
- Reporting : Maintain accurate and timely documentation of project progress, including daily reports, work logs, and incident reports.
- Communication : Act as a liaison between project managers, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and resolving any project-related issues promptly.
- Problem Solving : Identify and resolve problems that may arise during construction, such as unexpected delays, conflicts, or technical issues, while keeping project timelines intact.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience as a Site Manager or similar role in commercial construction projects.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, ensuring accurate execution and compliance with the design and scope requirements.
- Experience in constructability analysis, identifying potential issues early and providing clear guidance to trades.
- Maintain a high sense of urgency and adaptability to manage fast paced project timelines.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and safety guidelines.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

WORK CONDITIONS
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 90% of the time.

- Required to remain standing for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry objects >35lbs.
- At times, overnight work is required based on project needs.

**What you can expect to do here:**
+ Supervision of on-site construction activities, including health and safety, within the established budget and scheduling guidelines including daily cost control;
+ Administering of construction contract and specifications on site;
+ Manage the site operating budget and ensure operational spending meets budget;
+ Reviewing, approving and tracking all daily construction operations;
+ Management/Direction of site subcontractors, suppliers, labour forces and equipment;
+ Monitoring and maintaining overall project schedule;
+ Management of client and stakeholders representatives on site;
+ Manage overall site Health and Safety as the on-site company representative;
+ Leading health and safety orientation and daily toolbox meetings;
+ Health and safety inspections, incident reporting and preparation of daily cost control reports; and,
+ Liaison with Project Manager and consulting designers and internal and external team members.
**What you'll bring to WSP:**
+ Some experience in a supervisory role in remote sites would be an asset;
+ Bilingual, French and English would be considered an asset in this role;
+ Demonstrated experience in design build projects would be an asset;
+ Demonstrated experience in completing and maintaining daily job reports and cost control using commercially available software (i.e. Heavy Job);
+ Current NORCAT and/or SURFACE MINER training would be an asset;
+ Demonstrated experience on sites involving heavy civil engineering and/or earthworks, with some experience in either specialized geotechnical, environmental, and/or infrastructure work would be an asset; and,
+ Mobility (out of town) within the Region and nationally is expected to be 80% of the time. This position will require travel nationally for select projects. Candidate must be willing to work on project sites on a rotational or full-time basis.
