**Location/Project:** Red Deer (Springbrook), AB - Flour Mill
**Status:** Full Time
**Hours:** Monday - Sunday, 7:00 am - 5:30 pm. Rotations based on two weeks (14 days) on, one week (7 days) off. Additional hours may be required during peak construction periods.
**Job Summary:** We are seeking skilled and experienced trades professionals to join our dynamic construction team. This role is designed for individuals who have hands-on experience in supporting various trades, including carpenters, welders, millwrights, and others, on construction sites. Although the position does not require journeyman certification, it demands a strong foundation of expertise and the ability to collaborate effectively with tradespeople to ensure the successful completion of projects while maintaining Todd & Sargent standards.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Assist trades workers and crew members in executing construction projects efficiently and safely.
* Operate and maintain tools, machinery, and equipment utilized by skilled trades professionals.
* Prepare and organize materials and workspaces to support the progression of tasks.
* Perform accurate measurements, cuts, and adjustments as directed by lead tradespeople.
* Follow project blueprints, schematics, and instructions to deliver precise work.
* Apply basic carpentry, welding, and mechanical skills to enhance overall project outcomes.
* Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations on the construction site.
* Collaborate with team members to address challenges and streamline workflows.
* Inspect tools and materials for quality assurance before use.
* Maintain cleanliness, order, and readiness of job sites for ongoing work.
* Other duties as assigned.
**Experience & Qualifications:**
* Must have previous construction experience.
* Must be at least 18 years old.
* Must wear the required personal protective equipment, abide by all of the company's field safety rules, and work with supervisors on performing all tasks in the safest manner.
* Must have basic trade tools.
* Must have access to reliable transportation and a valid Driver’s license.
* Ensure safety is top priority at all times.
* Safety training tickets preferred: Fall Protection, Confined Space, Equipment Tickets
**Typical Physical Demands:**
* Involves physical work that requires frequent use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
* Must be able to perform strenuous outdoor work in exposed weather conditions on a day-to-day basis.
* Must be able to climb and work at excessive heights.
* Must have a normal range of hearing and vision.
* May require lifting up to 50 lbs.
**Working Conditions:** Includes exposure to sound and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Requires wearing protective and/or safety equipment. Requires working outdoors exposed to all weather conditions.

We are looking to add a Utility Construction Worker to our team!
Position Title: Utility Construction Worker - Red Deer
Reports to: Utility Manager
Department: Utilities
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Location: Based out of Red Deer, Alberta. Some out-of-town travel is required.
Position Summary:
The Utility Construction Worker is responsible for participating in daily tasks to complete work with telecommunication and light power facility construction. The ideal candidate should have general construction knowledge with power tool and equipment operations. Also be familiar with directional drilling, hydro-vac, excavation and trenching, conduit placement, and cable pulling.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manual work to support daily project tasks
- Operate small hand tools
- Operate equipment such as direction drills, hydro-vacs, & excavators
- Proficient in Back Hoe, Mini Hoe and Skid Steer an asset
- Operate 1-5 ton trucks and pull trailers
- Pull underground cable
- Setting pedestals, vaults and tie ins
- Complete line locates as required
- Participate in the company health and safety program
Physical Requirements:
- Some heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs) and physically demanding duties are required.
Work Environment:
- Work is completed outdoors; there can be exposure to extreme weather. Such as to heat, cold, rain, snow, dust, noise, mud, and water.
Qualifications:
- Valid Drivers License
- Standard First Aid CPR
- Ground Disturbance Level II
- Pre-Access A&D Test Required
- Must provide a Driver's Abstract (30 days current)
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Must be able to work well under pressure
