Position Overview:

The Senior Metrologist/QA Manager is responsible for overseeing the metrology lab and ensuring compliance with all quality standards across the organization. This dual-role leader will develop and implement quality control systems, manage audits and certifications, and lead a team of technicians and quality personnel. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in metrology, along with leadership experience in quality systems management (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 17025).



Key Responsibilities:


Metrology:

  • Oversee all calibration and measurement activities, ensuring traceability to NIST and NRC standards.
  • Program and operate advanced metrology equipment (e.g. Fluke METCAL software, Fluke 5550A, Fluke 6105A, Fluke 8588A, Fluke 6270A).
  • Develop procedures and measurement strategies for complex equipment.
  • Analyze measurement data and provide guidance on conformity and process improvement.

Quality Assurance:

  • Maintain and improve the company’s QMS; ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Lead internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory audits.
  • Manage non-conformance, CAR, and document control systems.
  • Train and mentor quality team members on inspection techniques, root cause analysis, and quality tools.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across departments.

Leadership & Management:

  • Supervise and develop a team of metrologists, technicians, and QA personnel.
  • Collaborate with calibration and renewal parts teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Report on key quality metrics and lead quality reviews with management.



Qualifications:

  • Certified Electronics Engineering Technologist (CET) or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience in metrology and quality assurance within a regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of Fluke’s METCAL (Metrology and Calibration) software.
  • Proficient in the use of precision measurement equipment and software (e.g., Fluke calibration standards, METCAL)
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Background in electrical, pressure, temperature, and dimensional metrology.



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or equivalent.

Main responsibilities

  • Review requirements and specifications to understand the product features.
  • Design comprehensive test cases based on business and functional requirements.
  • Identify and document test scenarios for manual testing.
  • Execute test cases manually across different platforms and environments.
  • Log defects in a bug-tracking system (e.g., Azure DevOps).
