Position Summary:
The 'Operations Supervisor' role oversees warehouse and transportation operations of a dedicated McDonald's distributorship with responsibility for planning/scheduling of manpower and equipment of the hourly workforce while nurturing an environment that maximizes employee safety, involvement and morale. Further, this position will administer and monitor daily dispatch while maintaining a master delivery schedule and providing interpretation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Within the scope of his/her responsibility, the operations supervisor ensures safety is a number one priority through effective daily communications and action plan execution with employees while advocating injury/collision risk management and incident avoidance. The incumbent will further ensure optimized equipment utilization while driving overall cost reductions without impacting store delivery targets/service.This position provides strong technical support as well as direction, guidance & leadership to the Warehouse and Transportation Departments at an assigned distribution centre.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in business, engineering, logistics or related field
+ Ideally shall have three to five years' experience in high-volume, food service, unionized distribution, or logistics
+ One to three years of progressively responsible supervisory experience
+ Strong computer software (i.e., MS Office) skills required
+ Experience with Routing and Onboard Software, a strong asset

**ABOUT THE ROLE**
Lead the organization of the Brookfield warehouse to develop and implement best practices for Warehouse management and provide support and reporting for the Purchasing Manager and Plant Leadership Team.

Job Overview:

As a Marketplace Supervisor, you will play a vital role in helping support the onsite Culinary or Marketplace teams in handling day to day operations. This individual needs to be able lead the team to execute operational SOP's both effectively and efficiently. This includes, but not limited to, handling receiving, inventory, storing and distributing all products within the Marketplace. In addition, this individual will be responsible for purchasing ingredients and scheduling staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight:

  • Supervise receiving processes, ensuring accurate inspections and storage of products.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and manage reorder levels to maintain stock availability.
  • Oversee product returns and ensure proper documentation and restocking.
  • Create and manage employee schedules to ensure operational efficiency.

Warehouse Organization and Maintenance:

  • Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment to move inventory safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure the organization of dry storage, walk-ins, and freezer areas within the marketplace.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized working environment.
  • Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.

Process Implementation and Improvement:

  • Focus on and implement efficient processes for:
    • Receiving and inventory management.
    • Ordering and vendor coordination.
    • Product returns and exchanges.
    • Employee scheduling and task assignment.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve productivity.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks and duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • 3–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Forklift certification is preferred.
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Experience in operating a pallet jack preferred.
  • Experience in the food industry (meal prep, food manufacturing, or wholesale distribution) is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with inventory and order management software is a plus. Experience with WholesaleWare is highly desirable.

Compensation All final pay rates will be determined by candidates experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

Purpose of the Position:

Reporting through the Warehouse & Logistics Operations Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for organizing, directing, and controlling day-to-day inventory management and material movement of all goods throughout the organization.

Responsibilities & Expectations:

Safety

  • Emphasize the importance of safety and well-being of every individual who enters the warehouse areas.
  • Collaborate with all members of the team to create and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Identify potential hazards, prevent accidents, and proactively address any shortcomings in our safety protocols.

Inventory Management

  • Facilitate / lead all inventory counts, reconciliations and close outs.
  • Work with the Quality, Customer Service and Supply Chain teams on all inventory audit requirements.
  • Review, investigate and approve any inventory variances.
  • Ensure that the warehouse staff are trained in all issuances, receipts, transfers and other warehousing functions, and that they are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Work with the Warehouse & Logistics Operations Manager to align on strategic purchasing initiatives, with a commitment to consigned inventory setup, placement and storage management.
  • Coordinate on supply chain initiatives for developing and implementing inventory management plans.
  • Work with the Warehouse & Logistics Operations manager to review and maintain a suitable warehouse layout plan for the proper flow of materials.
  • Ensure all safety stock levels are reviewed in conjunction with the materials planner on a reoccurring basis.
  • Work closely with the Quality Department and Logistics on inbound and outbound quality inspections.
  • Work closely with the Quality Department to enact the timely disposition of inventory On Hold.
  • Work closely with the Quality Department on environmental requirements of materials onsite.

Production Material Handling

  • Coordinates all on-site production materials requirements; in-transit flow, inventory adjustments, production material inspections, and reporting the same to finance.
  • Coordinate with Logistics to ensure inbound and outbound flow of materials as needed.
  • Accountable for reporting accurate and timely inventory data to finance.

Liaison With Internal Stakeholders

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders on developing material staging programs.
  • Work in conjunction with supply chain and material planner on identifying material standardization.

Leadership

  • Responsible for the selection, training and safety of all people working in the warehousing role.
  • Provides performance expectations and KPI’s and utilizes performance management processes to ensure expectations are being met.
  • Responsible to develop and provide relevant training programs for the site warehouse personnel.
  • Work closely with warehouse personnel on developing efficient warehouses.
  • Housekeeping, cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in Warehousing and shipping/receiving.
  • Minimum of 5 years of warehouse experience required, with a preference for previous leadership experience within a food production or manufacturing environment.
  • Post-secondary education in related field is preferred, with a preference for training/designation within supply chain, operations management or business administration.
  • Strong knowledge of an ERP system in regards to inventory control, purchasing, scheduling, and planning in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision making.
  • Strong communication skills required, with ability to communicate effectively with multiple types of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, especially with Excel.
