Job Responsibilities:
- Program, test, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems for water and wastewater treatment plants.
- Design, configure, and integrate SCADA systems using industry-standard platforms.
- Develop functional control descriptions and logic diagrams to support automation design.
- Collaborate with electrical designers and engineers to define control system architecture and hardware specifications.
- Modify and optimize existing PLC programs to improve system performance and reliability.
- Perform system start-up and commissioning activities both in-house and at client sites.
- Provide remote or on-site troubleshooting support for control systems as required.
- Ensure all programming and configuration adheres to project requirements, industry standards, and client specifications.
- Maintain up-to-date and well-documented code libraries and configuration files.
- Participate in control panel testing, loop checking, and verification of I/O functionality.
- Support the development of operator interface screens (HMI) and ensure user-friendly operation.
- Work collaboratively with project managers and cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and deliverables.
- Identify and escalate technical risks or delays that could impact project delivery.
Key Qualifications, Education, and Skills:
- College graduate in the field of Instrumentation/Controls Technology.
- A minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience programming and maintaining PLC systems for water and wastewater treatment systems is preferred.
- Familiarity programming Allen Bradley, Siemens and other PLCs & HMIs.
- Strong commitment to Safety and Environmental Compliance.
- Proven organizational skills, high work standards, strong technical abilities and personal accountability.
- Ability to maintain excellent records and documentation control.
- Experience with reading and interpreting measuring tools, graphs, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Capable of working in varying temperature conditions and environments, including hot and cold environments.
- Strong computer skills.
- Hold a G-class drivers license in good standing.
- Available and willing to travel up to 25% as required by the role.
- Must have a valid passport and the ability to travel internationally.

Skills & Qualifications
- Completion of Civil Engineering Degree from an Accredited Institution.

The Opportunity
As a result of our expanded growth, an immediate opportunity currently exists in our Kelowna office for a Junior - Intermediate Engineering Designer/Engineer-In-Training to join our team The successful candidate(s) will be required to prepare construction drawings/documents, assist in the coordination of design and specifications within the context of a multidisciplinary design team.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and develop designs for civil works, including engineering drawings for site plan applications, plan and profiles, report figures, etc.
- Experience in land development, commercial and institutional practice areas
- Lead and assist in the development of designs specific to site grading and site servicing; sewers, watermains, roads, stormwater management and sedimentation and erosion control
- Experience and knowledge including an understanding of municipal, regional and provincial design guidelines and drawing requirements.
- Ensure a complete understanding of project requirements and client expectations to aid in the successful completion of the work
- Contract specification document preparation including cost estimates
- Plan, organize and prioritize the project tasks under your responsibility in conjunction with others to maximize productivity and to effectively meet established guidelines
- Initiate and follow-up circulation to various agencies and work with appropriate authorities to establish relationships to gain speedy approval acquisition
- Mentor junior staff
Skills & Qualifications
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in design for public and/or private clients
- College diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field
- High level of expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required
- Experience with stormwater and water modeling software
- A strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Good working knowledge of MS Office
- Demonstrated ability to perform individually or as a member of project teams

Position Overview:
As a result of our growth and expansion, an immediate opportunity currently exists in our Ottawa branch. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, self-motivated professional with experience in land development and/or municipal engineering related design projects.
Ideal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and develop designs for civil works, including engineering drawings for site plan applications, plan and profiles, report figures, etc.
- Experience in land development, commercial and institutional practice areas, and or
- Experience in Municipal projects such as roadway reconstructions, intersection improvements, and infrastructure renewal projects.
- Lead and assist in the development of designs specific to site grading and site servicing; sewers, watermains, roads, stormwater management and sedimentation and erosion control
- Experience and knowledge including an understanding of municipal, regional and provincial design guidelines and drawing requirements.
- Ensure a complete understanding of project requirements and client expectations to aid in the successful completion of the work
- Contract specification document preparation including engineering reports and cost estimates
- Conduct Site Visits and Inspections and prepare follow-up Reports
- Assist with Contract Administration.
- Plan, organize and prioritize the project tasks under your responsibility in conjunction with others to maximize productivity and to effectively meet established guidelines
- Initiate and follow-up circulation to various agencies and work with appropriate authorities to establish relationships to gain speedy approval acquisition
- Mentor junior staff and assist senior staff with a wide variety of assignments
Skills and Abilities:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in design for public and/or private clients
- Canadian College diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field
- High level of expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required
- Experience with stormwater and water modeling software
- A strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Teams and Outlook
- Valid Driver’s License
- Demonstrated ability to perform individually or as a member of project teams
