The Wind Turbine Technician will travel to support various scopes of work across Canada. The technician must be competent and qualified to work on wind turbines. Specific trainings and electrical / mechanical competencies are an asset.

Here's what you will do as a Wind Technician:
- 100% Travel, with an approximate 35:10 onsite to offsite ratio.
- Climb wind turbines (upwards of 130m) to perform diagnostic testing, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs to mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components/systems.
- Complete various reports, checklists, and hazard analysis as it pertains to job scope.
- Participate in company and customer HSE/training programs.
- Deliver exceptional customer experience/service to our partners in the industry.
- Follow all Health and Safety policies to maintain a zero-incident workplace
- Scheduled maintenance of Wind Turbine Generators including: inspection, greasing, cleaning, torqueing and tensioning of bolted connections
- Apply LOTO
- Electrical Troubleshooting
- Hydraulic Troubleshooting
- Follow and implement work procedures for specific scopes of work to inspect, repair and maintain Wind Turbine components
- Populate, track and communicate client and company documentation on a daily basis
- Maintain a clean work area, equipment and tooling
- Perform other daily work requirements as directed by Site Management
- Maintain required training certifications for position (Fall Protection/Rescue Training,, LOTO, First Aid/CPR/AED) etc.

Location: 100% travel throughout the USA on an 8 week on / 2 week off rotation
Job Type: Regular Full-time or Contract positions available
Job Responsibilities:
Travel extensively to perform scheduled and unscheduled wind turbine maintenance
Lead and mentor wind technicians during troubleshooting, repairs, and service operations
Perform electrical and mechanical tasks, including:
Torquing, tensioning, greasing, and filter changes
Hydraulic and electrical component maintenance
Major component exchanges (MCEs)
Alignments using mechanical or laser tools
Use of borescopes for inspections
Charging accumulators and using amp clamps
Perform LOTO procedures on all energy sources; conduct HV switching operations
Read and interpret electrical/hydraulic schematics and one-line diagrams
Terminate wires based on schematics and identify motors, generators, and other components
Use diagnostic tools and support site punch-list closeouts
Develop work instructions and safety documentation
Maintain accurate records and report all safety or technical issues promptly

Job Description
Immediate need for Siemens Gamesa Troubleshooters with experience and training on Siemens Gamesa turbines.
As a Wind Turbine Troubleshooter, you will be responsible for identifying common, reoccurring, and major component faults on newly operational Siemens G145 wind turbine generators:
Travel to various wind farm sites across the U.S. and Canada for job assignments
Troubleshoot problems on systems where duly trained/certified, including hydraulics, electrical and mechanical to ensure wind turbine and generator is operational and functioning properly
Develop advanced troubleshooting knowledge and skills on site in collaboration with other competent individuals
May perform maintenance tasks
Lead small teams; accountable for the safety, competency and productivity of individuals assigned to them
Keep records, maintains documentation and reports technical, safety issues and difficulties as required by company policy.
Maintain and follows safety procedures as required by company policy.
May assist or perform component replacement, retrofits, and other special assignments
Continue to develop and expand wind maintenance skillset through on-the-job training and train others in performing service work
Work safely, competently and productively under the direction of others
