We are excited to be relaunching our very own Home Support Worker program for the 4th year in a row. This program is a great entry point into the healthcare field, offering paid virtual classroom training , hands-on experience , and potential employment opportunities upon completion.

Location: This position is based within Timiskaming District and the surrounding areas, including New Liskeard, Englehart, Earlton, and Kirkland Lake.

Georgia-Pacific is currently seeking a n Operations Development Leader to lead technical and process development initiatives at the Englehart, Ontario Oriented Strand Board ( OSB ) manufacturing facility .

The Operations Development Leader will focus heavily on upskilling and building capabilities in operators and technicians. This includes developing and curating high-quality knowledge content, resources, and materials to enhance their skills and knowledge. The leader will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify knowledge and skill gaps impacting plant performance and develop targeted content to address these gaps. By analyzing performance data and trends, the Operations Development Leader will identify areas of improvement and recommend adjustments to knowledge content. The goal is to increase the proficiency level of Operators and Technicians employees through upskilling initiatives and achieve a reduction in downtime related to knowledge and skill gaps .

What You Will Do

• Lead the upskilling of Operators and Technicians employees.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify knowledge & skill gaps impacting plant performance and develop targeted content to address these gaps.
• Develop content tied to knowledge and skill gaps impacting plant performance.
• Analyze performance data and trends to identify areas of improvement and recommend adjustments to training programs and content.
• Participate in top losses meetings to prioritize top loss areas and provide gap closure plans pertaining to the learning and development aspect.
• Develop and curate high-quality training content, resources, and materials to enhance the skills and knowledge of Operators and Technicians employees.
• Verify Operators and Technicians maturity KPIs and metrics, providing feedback to Plant Managers and other leaders.
• Perform routine verifications and validations of Operators and Technicians Development aspects.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to enhance troubleshooting skills using CSC insights and immersive technology.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning by promoting immersive technology and operations development concepts.
• Increase troubleshooting effectiveness and improve the average time to resolve technical issues.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Experience in Manufacturing Operations .
• Exposure to leadership/supervisory role s .
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze performance data and trends.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in learning management systems and /or other relevant software tools.
• Willing and able to travel periodically to the United States .

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience in Wood Production/Building Materials Operations .
• Knowledge of immersive technology and its application in training and development.
• Experience building operational troubleshooting material .
• E xperience in Digital Process Optimization .
