Job Description

We're now accepting participants for focus group studies! You can earn up to $750 per week working part-time from home. Simply register to see if you qualify—no experience as an administrative assistant is necessary.

We are looking for people to join national and local paid focus groups, clinical trials, and market research studies. Most of our opportunities allow you to participate online from home, though some in-person options are available. It's a great chance to make extra income from the comfort of your home.

Compensation:

$5- 150 for each 1-hour session
300- 750 for multi-session studies

Job Requirements:
Arrive at least 10 minutes before your session starts
Follow all written and oral instructions

**Position Summary**

The Safety Watch and Spark Watch are part of an effective team that successfully completes turnaround projects according to project requirements while maintaining high quality and a safe workplace. This is a temporary position for work on a pulp mill turnaround project at Cariboo Pulp & Paper (CPP), Quesnel, BC.

**Responsibilities**

- Conducting regular inspections of potential release of flammable vapours or liquids, and ensuring flammable materials are at a safe distance from ignition sources.
- Performing duties including on-site safety watch, hole watch and atmospheric testing, spark/fire watch, and gas detection.
- Monitoring emergency planning zones and potential hazards and conducting stop-work procedures in high-risk or hazardous situations.
- Maintaining proper coordination and cooperation with other members of the site team, so that site activity is not disrupted.
- Ability to work in adherence to safe practices, worksite and traffic laws.
- May perform other related duties as required.

**Qualifications**

- **NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY.** Mandatory in-house training will be provided.
- Steel-toe boots are required.
- Available to attend an all-day training session.
- Available for approximately 2 weeks of work starting September 8, 2025.

**Position Overview**

As a General Labour, you will be making a difference in people’s lives by helping restore their homes after they have experienced a fire or flood. For a General Labour, no day is the same and you will be on different sites every day. This position has a lot of overtime potential and is great for people who are looking to bulk their pay cheque! We are looking for people who are skilled in or are looking to learn: demolition, fire restoration, flood drying and restoration.

**Duties and Responsibilities…**

* Complete paperwork ie, Site Safety Assessments, Work Authorizations, Demo Work Order, and Psychometry
* Interpret HMI reports
* Monitor job sites and document drying
* Use meters to identify wet areas
* Complete water extraction, setting up and monitoring drying and dehumidifying equipment, creating drying plans based on IICRC guidelines.
* Support 3-step bio wash
* Mark-out non-restorable materials for removal
* Controlled demolition, removal of damaged materials like drywall, flooring, and finishing’s
* Operate and maintain a truck mount
* Use injectidry and other specialty equipment
* Disengage and cut seams in affected carpent
* Perform emergency carpet clean
* Assist with removal of door hardware/fixtures
* Set up and remove scaffolding
* Assist with board-ups

*Health and Safety*

* Ensure that self and others adhere to Universal’s health and safety practices and procedures
* Ensure good housekeeping is kept to perform work safely and efficiently
* Understand safety policies and protocols
* Ensure that self and others on site are wearing all required PPE, when required

**Who we are looking for:**

* Trades/ construction experience is an asset.
* Fire and Flood restoration and/or demolition experience is an asset willing and able to do emergencies and related documentation. .
* A driver’s license to attend on call sites is a must.
* The physical ability to bend, reach, lift 50 pounds safely and repeatedly and stand throughout your shift.
* An eagerness to bulk your paycheck with overtime hours as we are a 24/7 emergency services company, and all positions will have a component of on-call work on a rotational basis.
* A great attitude and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done and serve our customers. We have a fun and hard-working team and are looking for someone with the skills to complement them.
* The ability to wear personal protective equipment to keep you safe on site, including a respirator. Facial hair that will allow you to wear a respirator safely is limited to a clean shave, a moustache and/or a small goatee.
* We enter people’s homes and drive company vehicles, so a clean criminal record as it relates to work and a drivers abstract with only minor infractions is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Wheel Loader: move material, feed into screening plant and load trucks.
  • Power Screen: feed or move material into and away from screening plant.
  • Excavator: feed material into screening plant and separate screened materials
  • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner, perform daily equipment inspections and maintenance.
  • Operate other heavy equipment as required and instructed by site supervisors.
  • Ability to travel to various job sites as required.

  • General job set-up, site clean up, and materials removal.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

As a member of the BC Eco team, we expect you bring the following to the table:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience operating Wheel Loader or Excavator
  • Preferrable experience using a Chipper or Processor.
  • Experience working around screening plant would be an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude and capable of performing basic daily equipment maintenance is a necessity.
  • Motivated self-starter with positive attitude and proven safety record.
  • Experience running other types of heavy equipment would be an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence.
  • Physically fit and able to walk uneven ground, chip piles and log yard locations.
  • Team player who is willing to pitch in wherever needed.
