• Prepare, monitor and maintain operating budgets for all investment funds.
• Oversee fund-related expense allocations.
• Track and update internal systems with expense payments to benchmark against budgets.
• Maintain expenses policy and enhance operational controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate risk.
• Coordinate with Corporate Finance team to track inter-company transfers and serve as the primary contact.
• Provide support with fund launches, mergers, and terminations, particularly in creating and tracking fund launch and fund termination budgets.
• Ability to work with large datasets to produce useful output based on expense and/or budget analysis requests of stakeholders.
• Active involvement in reviewing and producing interim and annual financial statements & MRFPs and providing support during the annual audit.
• Support other functions of Fund Operations such as Tax and NAV Oversight, as needed.
• Establish strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners.
• Lead and/or contribute to critical operational and strategic projects.

• Working towards a professional designation, such as CPA, CFA, or CAIA, would be an asset.
• 3+ years of experience in asset management or fund administration.
• Experience working at a Fund Services Firm

About the Opportunity 

• Interpreting the application of accounting and assurance standards,the company’s Bylaws, Regulations, and the Code of Professional Conduct to respond to members’ technical, regulatory, ethical, and practice management questions as well as students’ and the general public’s ethics-related matters. 

• Liaising and assisting with various provincial and national and interprovincial committees as well as providing feedback on technical, ethical and practice matters/issues in addition to assisting with and/or coordinating projects. 

• Developing and reviewing advisory-related guidance and support materials and tools including articles, webpages, publications as well as drafting policy papers. 

• Communicating members’ concerns with the company’s Small Medium Practices Advisory Committee as well as conducting member outreach to raise the awareness of Professional Advisory Services.

About You 

• A CPA member in good standing with a minimum of 8 years post-qualification experience combined with a strong working knowledge of Canadian accounting and assurance and related standards, CPA Ontario’s Member’s Handbook (Bylaws, Regulations, and CPA Code of Professional Conduct), as well as the proven ability to assess situations and determine compliance or non-compliance. 

• An experienced researcher with strong decision making and professional judgement skills. 

• A proven relationship builder with excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), presentation, and customer service skills with a proven ability to deal with individuals and complex situations with tact and diplomacy.

• Monitor accounts to identify outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments
• Reconcile customer accounts and promptly resolve discrepancies
• Process and apply incoming payments accurately to customer accounts
• Maintain precise records of all accounts receivable transactions
• Prepare regular accounts receivable aging reports and escalate issues when necessary
• Build strong working relationships with Sales and operations teams, as well as the accounting and finance team to understand the deduction programs and their accounting impacts
• Compile, review, and reconcile trade spend deductions from customer remittances (e.g. discounts, promotion spend, admin fees etc.)
• Understands the pricing model and structure and how to relate that to AR outstanding balance
• Obtain Backup from customers portals for all deductions
• Analyse and verify customers debit claims
• Prepares Balance Sheet reconciliation of the AR related accounts
• Work with customers to dispute and obtain repayment for invalid claims
• Liaise with the revenue team to ensure deductions are legitimate
• Prepare and post deduction journal entry adjustments, as required
• Ensure compliance to deduction and rebate programs and monitor for risks and opportunities
• Create and manage deduction reports by customer on aged deductions, and other trade spends
• Responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliations as outlined by Accounting Manager
• Ad-Hoc duties as assigned

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, or related experience preferably in a manufacturing/CPG environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
• Able to work efficiently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced business environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; be able to comprehend and articulate accounting issues from non-accounting/cross-functional teams and be able to recommend pragmatic solutions
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook (strong skills in excel)
• Knowledge of accounting software an asset (experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central)- would be considered an asset)
• Demonstrate a high level of autonomy and self-motivation – who takes direction well but has a clear understanding of how to organize the day-to-day functions, asks questions and engages in self-directed learning to tackle new tasks
• Can multi-task with confidence and ease

• Maintain and update the customer master data in the ERP system, including setting credit terms and supporting credit review approvals.
• Review and release credit holds for blocked orders or shipments after investigating overdue accounts or credit limit issues.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, returns, and credit notes across multiple business entities, ensuring documentation accuracy and approval compliance.
• Post daily cash receipts from bank statements and prepare weekly invoice and payment listings for cash flow tracking.
• Compile bi-weekly aging reports and follow up with customers on overdue balances.
• Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including invoice reconciliations, freight or tariff schedules, intercompany billing, and balance confirmations.
• Prepare consolidated aging reports and assist with expected credit loss (ECL) analysis.
• Collaborate with Finance, Sales, and Tax teams to ensure accurate reporting and timely resolution of issues.

• Hands-on experience in Accounts Receivable, including billing, collections, cash applications, and reconciliations.
• Understanding of credit management processes such as credit reviews, limits, and intercompany transactions.
• Proficiency with mid-market or enterprise ERP systems (experience in credit and AR modules is essential).
• Ability to work across multiple entities or company codes.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to reporting deadlines for weekly, monthly, and quarterly deliverables.
• Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to escalate issues when they fall outside established parameters.

About the Opportunity

• Data Compilation & Analysis:
• Gather, consolidate, and analyze operational data from multiple software systems (Google Sheets, etc.)
• Maintain/fix and update databases and spreadsheets/google sheets with accurate and timely information.
• Identify and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets to provide valuable insights to management.

• Maintain regular reports and dashboards/google sheets that track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the operations teams.

• Validate operational data for accuracy and completeness to ensure reliable financial reporting

• Experience working in excel and google sheets in a corporate reporting capacity
• Strong Communication skills
• Great attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ensure all invoices, expenses reimbursements, and credit card reconciliations have the proper allocation, approval and supporting documentation.
• Process and send out weekly payments with approvals and signatures.
• Maintain accounts payable records, vendor records and invoices for audit purposes.
• Calculate and track GST/HST/QST/PST, including preparing and submitting quarterly/annual returns and rebates.
• Maintain balance sheet accounts, reconciliation and schedules.
• Ensure deposits and expenses are recorded accurately in the GL.
• Record journal entries as needed, including entries at month-end, quarter-end, year-end, and for the annual audit.
• Prepare bank reconciliations for multiple bank accounts.
• Oversee the distribution of monthly reports to all business/program areas across the organization, ensuring accuracy of data and financial statements.
• Support the preparation of regular forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis as part of reporting package.
• Provide support and answer queries from other department staff.
• Provide additional assistance to the Chief Financial Officer; Director, Finance; and Manager, Finance as requested.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• 3 years accounting working experience in AR, AP, GL, and bank reconciliations.
• Working knowledge in Sage 300 or comparable accounting software.
• Extremely detail oriented and organized
• Ability to work in ambiguity, independently, and meet deadlines.
• Work well in team environment; ability to communicate and collaborate across teams
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
