Kingsmill Foods Company Limited is a rapidly growing beverage manufacturer located at 1399 Kennedy Rd, Toronto (Scarborough), Ontario. We are recruiting for a Production Manager (NOC Code 90010) who would like to work in a hands-on fast paced environment. This is a full time, permanent position, 40 hours/week, with an hourly wage of $52. This position requires frequent work on Saturdays, particularly from August to February time frame. As there is responsibility over 3 shifts, occasional afternoon and night shift is required.
Job Duties include:
- Management of production supervisors in 3 shift operation
- Manage 50-100 people
- Hands-on management to ensure that daily production requirements are met: safety, quality, environment, procedures and production output
- Develop strategies and implementation plans to improve all aspects of production, with a focus on Lean Manufacturing tools
- Review progress versus plans and key metrics
- Training of Lean Manufacturing tools
- Train supervisors to develop detailed knowledge of equipment in factory (canning, single serve pouches, bags and bottles). This is a critical component of the position.
- Assist in troubleshooting issues in production, including equipment (canning, single serve pouches, bags and bottles), materials, personnel.
- Lead all HR aspects, including organizational structure, hiring, promotion and discipline
Required skills include:
- 5 to 10 years experience managing employees in the food, beverage, cosmetic or pharmaceutical industries
- 2 years experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation or sustenance
- Detailed knowledge of powder packaging (canning, single serve pouches and bags) and powder blending built over at least 2 years experience with these equipment
- Detailed knowledge of liquid processing (including pasteurization) and packaging equipment (bottles) built over at least 2 years experience with these equipment
- Experience in training supervisors how to trouble shoot powder and liquid packaging equipment
- Knowledge of Labour Relations
- Knowledge of CIP (Clean in Place) and SIP (Sanitizing in Place) Systems
- Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance of machinery and equipment
- Exposure to Safety, GMP, Quality, Maintenance and Productivity metrics
- Bachelor Diploma in Engineering

Position: Pastry Chef
Location: Main Lodge Kitchen, Blue River, BC
Type: Seasonal, Full-Time
Reports to: Executive Chef or Designate
Overview:
The Pastry Chef will prepare, present, store, and oversee the production of all baked goods and desserts in the Main Lodge Kitchen. Must work in compliance with all health and safety regulations by ensuring adherence to sanitary and safe food handling guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Provide guests with the highest quality of food and service.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness of pastry work area and equipment.
- Take charge of pastry requirements.
- Provide 3 dessert buffets per week.
- Provide 5 plated desserts, breads, cakes, cookies, truffles, ice cream, petite fours, special diet requests, muffins, and Danishes (biweekly menu).
- Prepare Bavarian House desserts (special) for 5 to 15 persons.
- Support Albreda Lodge by creating a menu (including recipes and visual aids) with 7 basic plated desserts plus ice cream & sorbet.
- Assist with training the Albreda Lodge Employee(s) to perfect the desserts on the Albreda menu.
- Support bread baking position (sandwich breads, pretzel buns, cookies for Saddle Mountain Restaurant and Albreda Lodge).
- Follow all health and safety regulations and control all waste.
- Participates in the training and development of employees and provides input for performance appraisals and disciplinary action.
- Communicate all problems and / or ideas to your supervisor.
- Be professional in everything you say and do.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner within company policies.

Qualifications :
- University or College Diploma in a Culinary field preferred.
- Certified Chef designation preferred.
- Food Safe Certification and WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) required.
- Two to three years' experience in a similar position.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Must be able to frequently bend and kneel, lift moderate weight, and work on feet for an extended period.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Be willing to work a variety of day, evening, and weekend shifts.
- Attributes include an energetic personality, punctuality, and good grooming standards.
Working Conditions:
- This position will spend 100% of the time standing.
- Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat and water, and exposure to hot temperatures in the kitchen environment
- Must be able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion, and up to 35 pounds regularly.
- Manual dexterity is required to use knives and kitchen appliances.
Directly Supervises: Assistant Pastry Chef, Baker/Pastry Helper
Compensation : $25.25 per hour, season completion bonus $1 per hour, gratuities
