General:

Build your career as a Construction Professional in this varied and challenging role that is critical to project success. Thesuccessful candidate will assume responsibility for providing onsite support to the superintendent and project manager and act as a liaison between our project site and the head office staff.

An ideal steppingstone for individuals that ensures experience building diverse projects for field personnel, EIT's or Technologist who are wanting to work towards long term goals of transitioning to move into Project Management, project controls and estimating functions.

Task and Responsibilities:

• 
  Assisting in implementing and monitoring the quality control, safety and environmental programs
• 
  Quantity surveying, quantity review and system input.
• 
  Coordinate field detail, site inspections and liaising with field subcontractors.
• 
  Assist site inspectors with the reporting function.
• 
  Filing system set-up and maintenance, establishing/maintaining/monitoring document control.
• 
  Maintain daily communication with site superintendents and record daily construction activity.
• 
  Produce and log photographic record.
• 
  Preparation of daily site reports.
• 
  Assist in preparation of labour reports and cost reports.
• 
  Expedite materials (in conjunction with Project Manager).
• 
  Coordinate and assist with information distribution to subcontractors and own forces.
• 
  Maintain as-built drawings.
• 
  Maintain budgets and cost forecasts.
• 
  Participate in post project review with key project personnel.

Education and Experience Required:

• 
  Post-secondary education - Diploma, or BSc Degree in Engineering, Construction Coordination or Forestry an asset.

Skills Required:

It would be desirable for a Project Coordinator to possess the following skills:

  Organizational skills, time management and project specific management abilities.

  Effective communication skills both written and verbal for interface with clients and coworkers.

  Able to work in a team environment (Engineering, Purchasing, Estimating, Construction, etc.).

Location of Employment:

The Project Coordinator will be involved with work at various project sites across Canada and most times will fly-in-fly-out to site locations. LOA is provided. Typical working rotation is 21 days on, 7 days off. Applicants must hold a valid Class 5 Drivers Licence and be legally permitted to work in Canada.

• Configure playout systems to create linear broadcast and OTT streams
• Integrate third party hardware, software and APIs to create end-to-end media workflows
• Work with technical team lead and other team members in an Agile environment
• Own and deliver crucial elements of the project’s technical deployment
• Drive customer satisfaction by delivering systems to an agreed upon specification
• Routine reporting on project progress and issues to internal stakeholders
• Escalate issues to Research and Development team for resolution

Requirements:

• Education in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Networking or similar technical discipline
• Excellent debug and problem resolution skills
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and translate into practical use
• Familiarity with Linux operating system
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. JavaScript, Python)

The following would be an asset in your day-to-day work in this role:

• Computer networking knowledge
• Experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, Amazon Aurora, MariaDB)
• Practical knowledge of public cloud compute platforms (e.g. AWS, Google, Azure)
• Experience with Agile work planning methods
• Experience with broadcast automation, device control and media management
• Knowledge of current digital video compression standards and file types
