Education

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field is highly preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in data analytics, AI, and/or machine learning, with 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Expertise in consulting with private and public clients to unpack/define needs and performance measures, collaborate on holistic solution scenarios, decision support and full implementation/implementation, etc.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
  • Expertise in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI), and big data technologies
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in AI, data strategy, or digital transformation

Job Description

Osler’s advanced diagnostics program provides immunohistochemistry, and next generation sequencing, among other modalities to support diagnostic and clinical services It also provides biomarker support to a growing catchment within Ontario. The program draws professional support from MD-trained pathologists, integrating biomarker testing with diagnostic work.

The advanced diagnostics program has close ties with Osler’s Research Institute for Health Innovation, where the successful applicant will have ample opportunity to participate in or lead their own research. The advanced diagnostics program is also accredited with the European Masters of Molecular Pathology and is currently providing fellowship training for AP/GP residents in molecular pathology.

Osler is among the first hospitals in Canada to provide plasma-based next-generation sequencing (liquid biopsy) to support cancer care and management of patients with solid tumors. Participation in this program is expected of the successful applicant. Osler’s advanced diagnostics program closely supports a regionally renowned cancer program, including one of the top recruiting clinical trials programs in the country.

The Department of Laboratory Medicine is seeking one full-time pathologist to join the Advanced Diagnostics program based at Brampton Civic Hospital. The successful candidate will join a hybrid staffing model within advanced diagnostics and anatomic pathology, working in collaboration with subspecialists across pathology disciplines.

The Laboratory Medicine program at Osler is a collaborative, multidisciplinary team comprising anatomic pathologists, hematopathologists, medical microbiologists and clinical biochemists. The successful applicant will be cross-functional in advanced diagnostics and anatomic pathology.

This role will focus on expanding Osler’s advanced molecular diagnostics program, with particular emphasis biomarker testing, liquid biopsy, next-generation sequencing, immunohistochemistry, digital pathology and diagnostic histomorphology. Remuneration will be in accordance with the Uniform Minimum Level of Compensation for Pathologists in Ontario.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario with certification in Anatomic Pathology, Anatomic or General Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or a recognized equivalent
  • Subspecialty interest in a field of surgical pathology would be an asset, including head and neck, thyroid or cytopathology; however, any subspecialty interests will be considered
  • Applicants should have demonstrated interest in molecular diagnostics, including familiarity with next generation sequencing technologies, assay interpretation and development, and integration of molecular findings into clinical care
  • Prior involvement in molecular case sign-out, assay validation or participation in precision oncology programs, or formal fellowship training, will be considered strong assets, however, a molecular pathology fellowship is not a requirement
  • Strong communication skills, collegiality and a collaborative approach are essential
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in laboratory quality assurance, medical leadership or management will be viewed favorably
  • Proficiency in English is required; additional language skills are an asset, reflecting the diversity of the patient population we serve

    À quoi ressemblera votre quotidien ?

  • Piloter les activités d’approvisionnement et de fabrication des composants critiques, des modules, des systèmes d’assemblage, ainsi que des outils et systèmes de test nécessaires aux nouveaux programmes (démonstrateurs, archétypes 1 à 10).
  • Collaborer avec le Directeur Industrialisation Avancée, les responsables OPE, les chefs de projet et les ingénieurs industriels pour planifier et exécuter les jalons RLPM et les livrables de préparation à la production, en cohérence avec les plans de production.
  • Stratégie d’approvisionnement & fabrication :

  • Définir la stratégie make, buy ou le partenariat pour les nouveaux composants, en intégrant les exigences techniques et opérationnelles, et en développant ou sélectionnant les partenaires, les fournisseurs et les technologies (fonderie de précision, usinage, revêtements, fabrication additive…);
  • Évaluer les fournisseurs, les partenaires et les sites de production/d’assemblage & test selon les critères de qualité, de coût, de fiabilité, de capacité, de compétences et de technologies futures, avec les ingénieurs en industrialisation avancée;
  • Identifier et mettre en œuvre des stratégies de double/multi-sourcing, en collaboration avec les équipes OPE pour définir les plans de réduction des risques et établir le coût standard usine (FSC);
  • Négocier les accords à long terme (LTA) couvrant les prix, les coûts non récurrents, le calendrier, la maintenance, l’outillage et les conditions contractuelles;
  • Collaborer avec l’équipe de Partenariats pour élaborer des modèles de partage des risques sur les projets industriels.
  • Assurance de la livraison :

  • Lancer et suivre les processus d’approvisionnement, de fabrication et d’assemblage & test, en pilotant les fournisseurs, les partenaires et les sites de production pour garantir les livraisons selon planification;
  • Gérer les Line of Balance et les rapports de travaux en cours, et communiquer précisément l’avancement aux parties prenantes internes.
  • Optimisation et préparation :

  • Impliquer les fournisseurs, les partenaires et les sites de production dès les phases initiales de développement pour optimiser la conception et réduire les coûts via des actions de value engineering (DfC, DfM, DfA);
  • En collaboration avec le contrôle de coûts et l’ingénierie, établir et suivre la Cost Basis Note et le FSC, et identifier des alternatives pour améliorer les marges et limiter les dérives;
  • Suivre les jalons industriels (FAI, PPAP, etc.) et s’assurer de la montée en maturité MRL des fournisseurs, des partenaires et des sites de production, avec des plans et des calendriers adaptés aux jalons du programme et à la montée en cadence;
  • Identifier les projets CapEx nécessaires (outillages, procédés, infrastructures, nouvelles technologies) et préparer les business cases associées;
  • Soutenir les évaluations TRL et MRL des nouvelles technologies.
  • Gestion de projet et coordination transverse :

  • Collaborer étroitement avec les chefs de projet, les ingénieurs, le support après-vente, les OPE, approvionnements, la fabrication et A&T au sein des équipes intégrées (IPT) pour assurer l’alignement et faciliter le développement des composants et moteurs, de la conception au lancement ou la clôture de projet;
  • Être l’interlocuteur principal de l’industrialisation avancée auprès des fournisseurs, des partenaires et des sites de production, en coordonnant les exigences, les spécifications, les échéances et les attentes du programme.
  • (*) Les IPT sont organisées au niveau des modules moteurs, de l’assemblage et des pièces élémentaires. Elles sont responsables de la bonne atteinte des exigences de produit définies par le PMT, tout au long des phases de conception, développement, fabrication et support en service.

    Qu’est-ce qu’il vous faut pour réussir?

  • Diplôme de baccalauréat ou maîtrise en aéronautique, gestion de la chaîne d’approvisionnement, génie mécanique, industriel ou de la production;
  • Plus de 10 ans d’expérience en gestion de chaîne d’approvisionnement, fabrication ou industrialisation de composants moteurs aéronautiques, ou dans des secteurs exigeants similaires;
  • Bonne connaissance des procédés et matériaux aéronautiques (fonderie, usinage, revêtements, fabrication additive, Inconel, alliages de titane, composites, etc.) et des procédés en industries réglementées;
  • Expérience en collaboration transversale, gestion de projet (planification, contrôle des coûts, mitigation des risques), communication et résolution de problèmes.
  • Capacité à influencer des projets complexes, multisites et à conduire le changement;
  • Maîtrise des systèmes ERP (SAP, Oracle), outils d’approvisionnement et de suivi de performance fournisseurs/partenaires/sites.
  • Ce poste s’inscrit dans un milieu de travail francophone, néanmoins il nécessite une très bonne connaissance de l’anglais pour lire et comprendre, sur une base quotidienne, de la documentation et des termes techniques qui peuvent émaner d’organisations internationales, ainsi que pour écrire et communiquer en anglais avec des clients, des fournisseurs ou des collègues internationaux.

    What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Lead sourcing and manufacturing activities for critical components, modules, assembly systems, and tooling/testing systems needed for new programs (demonstrators, archetypes 1 to 10).
  • Collaborate with the Advanced Industrialization Director, OPE leads, project managers, and industrial engineers to plan and execute RLPM milestones and production readiness deliverables, aligned with production plans.
  • Sourcing & Manufacturing Strategy:

  • Define make, buy, or partner strategies for new components by integrating technical and operational requirements and developing/selecting partners, suppliers, and technologies (e.g., precision casting, machining, coatings, additive manufacturing).
  • Evaluate suppliers, partners, and production/assembly & test sites with Advanced Industrialization engineers based on quality, cost, reliability, capacity, skills, and emerging technologies.
  • Develop and implement dual/multi-sourcing strategies in collaboration with OPE teams to mitigate risks and establish Factory Standard Cost (FSC).
  • Negotiate critical long-term agreements covering pricing, non-recurring costs, schedules, maintenance, tooling, and contract terms.
  • Work with the Partnership’s team to develop risk-sharing models for industrial projects.
  • Delivery Assurance:

  • Initiate and monitor procurement, manufacturing, and assembly & test processes, managing suppliers, partners, and sites to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Manage Line of Balance and work-in-progress reports, providing accurate progress updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Optimization & Readiness:

  • Engage suppliers, partners, and sites early in development to optimize design and reduce costs through value engineering (DfC, DfM, DfA).
  • Collaborate with cost control and engineering teams to establish and track Cost Basis Notes and FSC, identifying alternatives to improve margins and control cost overruns.
  • Track industrial milestones (FAI, PPAP, etc.) and ensure suppliers, partners, and sites have MRL maturation plans aligned with program milestones and ramp-up needs.
  • Identify necessary CapEx projects (tooling, processes, infrastructure, new tech) and prepare business cases.
  • Support TRL and MRL assessments for new technologies.
  • Project Management & Cross-functional coordination:

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, aftermarket support, OPE, supply chain, manufacturing, and A&T teams within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to ensure alignment and facilitate component and engine development from design through launch or project closure.
  • Serve as the primary Advanced Industrialization contact for suppliers, partners, and sites, coordinating program requirements, specifications, deadlines, and expectations.
  • (*) IPTs operate at engine modules, assembly, and part levels and are responsible for meeting product requirements set by the PMT throughout design, development, manufacturing, and support phases.

    What do you need to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical, Industrial, or Production Engineering.
  • Over 10 years of experience in supply chain management, manufacturing, or industrialization of aerospace engine components or similarly demanding industries.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace processes and materials (casting, machining, coatings, additive manufacturing, Inconel, titanium alloys, composites, etc.) and experience with regulated industry processes.
  • Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration, project management (planning, cost control, risk mitigation), communication, and problem-solving.
  • Ability to influence complex multi-site projects and lead change initiatives.

    As a Lead, Advanced Analytics on the People Informatics team. you will provide advanced analytic services in projection modelling, workforce/ staffing projection and predictive and prescriptive analysis.     Primary Responsibilities:
    Provides advanced analytics services to support our Employee Experience Leadership and other Leaders within Fraser Health with informed, strategic HR decision-making.
    Workforce planning, including system-wide gap analysis, predictive and prescriptive analysis and presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership and external partners (eg. counterparts in Health Authorities and Ministry of Health).

    The Lead, Advanced Analytics supports the initiatives of Fraser Health's Employee Experience Analytics strategy Provides advanced analytic services in projection modelling, workforce/staffing projection, predictive and prescriptive analysis to support the workforce planning, evaluation, risk management, and strategic staffing resource initiatives for Employee Experience Management in Fraser Health. Discovers business risks and opportunities through the application of rigorous scientific methodology, statistics, algorithms, and utilization of system/operational engineering principles. Identifies training needs within Human Resources and provides training to staff to develop in-house expertise. Provides technical leadership to assigned staff
    Responsibilities

    Provides advanced analytics services to support our Employee Experience Leadership and other Leaders within Fraser Health with informed, strategic HR decision-making.
    Workforce planning, including system-wide gap analysis, predictive and prescriptive analysis and presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership and external partners (eg. counterparts in Health Authorities and Ministry of Health).
    Within Employee Experience Operations, conduct process analysis and modelling to identify inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement and employee resource investment.
    Quantifies impact of current state, modeling and assessing alternative solutions. Extracts necessary information from available databases. Develops measuring tools to monitor impact of applied solutions.
    Provides mentorship, support and professional development to People Informatics and People Analytics staff who are responsible for systems, analysis and reporting. Provides guidance and professional consultation to Employee Experience Partners in all stages of the process improvement work for analysis, modeling, sampling, evidence-based solution development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
    Responsible for maintaining knowledge of current system status regarding operational system performance and related process improvement projects by developing and monitoring a comprehensive and integrated set of efficiency indicators. Communicates current system status to relevant user groups.
    Participates in the evaluation, design, and implementation of the tool set for measuring and monitoring system's performance and achievement of initiative benefits.
    Maintains expertise and current knowledge on worldwide research regarding application of data analytic techniques within the Human Resources domain by reviewing existing literature, liaising with related professional associations and/or educational institutions and/or participating in research projects.
    Provides recommendations to the Manager regarding the assignment of staff and distribution of team resources within the assigned sites and/or assignment of staff at other sites, as needed.
    Supports the development and enhancement of data management and governance practices.
    Participates and attends various meetings regarding HR system efficiency as required; chairs and/or leads the discussion groups, as assigned.
    Keeps up-to-date with latest technology trends and methods.

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    Bachelor's Degree in a field related to Management Science, Business Administration, Computer Science or Information Technology, and have three (3) to five (5) years recent, related experience in a Consulting role with involvement in advanced analytics, systems review and technical systems work, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

    Professional/Technical Capabilities:
    Demonstrated abilities, with appropriate techniques, tools and resources to support management in planning, projecting/forecasting and operations decision making
    Demonstrated abilities completing large scale projection modeling
    Demonstrated experience with application of human resource programs/objectives
    Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and the use of related software programs
    Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
    Demonstrated experience in Business Intelligence tool (Power BI, MicroStrategy, Tableau, etc.)
    Demonstrated ability to apply statistical analysis to data sets.
    Advanced technical skills using SSMS, SSRS, SQL
    Demonstrated ability to prepare reports that incorporate data tables and results along with written recommendations.
