Job DescriptionThe enhanced new unit including services for general medicine and general surgery has a dedicated and ambitious multidisciplinary team whom are committed to providing exemplary patient and family centered care. The day to day activity of the unit is ever changing as the patient population and diagnoses are so diverse. The unit is supported by a Clinical Resource Nurse, a Professional Practice Clinician and a Patient Care Manager. - Ability to function to the full scope of practice as per CNO
- Demonstrate the ability to competently assess the patient, intervene appropriately and evaluate outcomes
- Demonstrate the knowledge, experience and ability to provide care for patients with a variety of needs including but not limited to: initiation and maintenance of IV’s, administration of medication delivered via various routes, blood and blood product administration, patient controlled analgesia, TPN, care and maintenance of CVADs, capillary blood glucose monitoring, NG tubes, chest tubes, enteral feeds, wound management, oxygen therapy and tracheostomies
- Be able to provide appropriate care to pre-operative and post-operative patient
- Ability to interpret normal and abnormal laboratory values with appropriate nursing interventions
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and organize the delivery of care in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
- Demonstrate an understanding of the role of the RN as a member of the interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrate an ability to communicate efficiently, effectively and respectfully to patients, visitors and members of the interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing patient-centered and family-centered care

Qualifications- Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Heart and Stroke BCLS certification required at time of hire.
- Recent general medicine and/or surgical experience preferred
- Strong assessment skills, reliable, flexible, self-directed professional whom is able to work effectively and collaboratively with multidisciplinary team.
- Sound patient care nursing skills combined with effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description
Registered Nurses (RNs) will provide professional nursing services across Ontario. RNs will support government ministries, hospitals, schools, correctional facilities, and other eligible public sector clients through short-term and long-term assignments as determined by client-specific Statements of Work (SOWs) .
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care consistent with the RN scope of practice under the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
- Conduct assessments, care planning, interventions, and evaluations in alignment with client and facility policies.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians, Nurse Practitioners, allied health professionals, and care teams.
- Provide health education and support to patients and families.
- Use client Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems as required — systems vary across facilities (e.g., VitalHub TREAT in correctional facilities).
- Maintain compliance with PHIPA (health information privacy), AODA , OHSA , and other applicable Ontario legislation.
Uphold professional standards of nursing practice in all settings, including acute care, long-term care, community health, and institutional facilities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse .
- Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience in an acute, long-term care, or community health setting.
- Demonstrated competency in patient assessment, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Flexibility to work in varied environments (hospital, correctional, school, community) and across Ontario regions.
- Ability to adapt to fluctuating client demand — no guaranteed volume of work is provided.
Security & Compliance Requirements
All RNs must successfully complete mandatory security screening prior to assignment, which may include:
- Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)
- Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) (where applicable)
- Credit Check (if required by Client)
- Driver’s Record Check / Out-of-Country checks (if driving is required)
Additional Information
- Equipment : RNs must provide their own stethoscopes ; all other required medical equipment will be available on-site.
- Service Delivery : Work may include both day-to-day care and specialty assignments depending on Client needs.

Education/Experience:
