Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Aerospace Engineer to join our engineering and R&D team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and improving aircraft, spacecraft, satellites, or aerospace systems. Key Responsibilities: Design & Development
  • Design aerospace components and systems, including airframes, propulsion systems, flight controls, and avionics.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate systems into aerospace platforms.

Analysis & Testing

Innovation & Research

  • Contribute to research projects aimed at improving fuel efficiency, reducing emissions, and enhancing safety and reliability.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

  • 25+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, aerospace systems development, or a similar domain.

  • Strong understanding of aerodynamics, propulsion, flight mechanics, structures, and materials science.

  • Proficiency in CAD and simulation tools (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, ANSYS, CFD software).

  • Familiarity with aerospace industry regulations and certification standards (e.g., DO-178C, AS9100, FAR/Part 25).

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.

  • Experience with space systems, UAVs/drones, or defense/aerospace contractors.

  • The Quality Engineer  is highly supplier-focused, requiring excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) to manage supplier quality assurance responsibilities and ensure compliance across and at all levels of the organization on major programs from design through production stages.
  • Evaluation of manufacturing functions and processes to ensure Quality Standards are in place
  • Evaluation of inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
  • Participate in QMS Audits for process deficiency and correction.

  • Interact in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
  • Involved in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
  • Will have 'hands-on' knowledge and experience of mechanical (Machine Shop) components, assembly, subsystem and system level concepts.
  • Strong emphasis on RCCA and CAPA experience.
  • Understanding of FMEA and Process Improvements and Standardization of Processes

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 3-5 years with LEAN Manufacturing Application experience.
  • 3-5 years' experience in areas of Quality Engineering such as: FMEA, SPC, RCCA, Process Control, Product Evaluation and Auditing
  • 2-3 years' working knowledge and experience with ISO9100 and AS9100 QMS Processes, especially in Production and Quality Engineering
  • 2-3 years' working knowledge and experience with Aircraft Parts and Material Conformity Inspections
  • 3-5 years FAI experience with AS9102 (FAI) Protocol
  • 3-5 years' knowledge and experience with inspection methods, techniques and protocols.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Your responsibilities:

  • Ensure the functional integration of avionics systems (FMS, GPS, VHF, ADS-B, TCAS, etc.) on test benches, simulators, or aircraft
  • Configure and validate embedded systems through ground testing (regression, non-regression, environmental, EMI testing, etc.)
  • Diagnose and resolve system, software, or interface issues (avionics/cabin/network)
  • Develop and execute test procedures based on system requirements (ARP4754A, DO-178C, DO-160G)
  • Analyze test results and document validation reports, non-conformity reports, and traceability matrices

Job Purpose

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Avionics) is responsible for providing avionics maintenance services including but not limited to servicing, troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, modifications, fabrication, installation, and functional tests on electrical systems and their components utilizing the tools and equipment available and in accordance with company and Transport Canada approved standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure all tasks assigned are completed efficiently and airworthiness is maintained.

  • Complete repairs, overhauls, and inspections on aircraft or in avionics shops.
  • Review work order charges to ensure correct data is entered into the system and advise direct supervisor of any discrepancies.
  • Complete all work order entries in a timely manner.
  • Participate in scheduled heavy maintenance and provide aircraft on ground (AOG) support when required.
  • Perform modifications and repairs on avionics, electrical and electromechanical systems.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and troubleshoot problems with applicable systems.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and read, understand, and apply engineering instructions and drawings.
  • Complete each task and associated maintenance documentation in an appropriate, safe, and timely manner.
  • Maintain and manage the avionics shop.
  • Ensure the availability and maintenance of all avionics required publications.
  • Ensure that all components installed on aircrafts are pre-approved and properly certified.
  • Assist in keeping the maintenance office, hangar, and shop areas clean and ensure equipment is appropriately stored/returned after tasks are completed.
