Job DescriptionWould you like to contribute to the integration of safety-critical embedded systems in the aerospace sector?
CS Group Canada is looking for an Avionics Systems Engineer to support integration, validation, and certification projects for avionics systems.
Your responsibilities:
- Ensure the functional integration of avionics systems (FMS, GPS, VHF, ADS-B, TCAS, etc.) on test benches, simulators, or aircraft
- Configure and validate embedded systems through ground testing (regression, non-regression, environmental, EMI testing, etc.)
- Diagnose and resolve system, software, or interface issues (avionics/cabin/network)
- Develop and execute test procedures based on system requirements (ARP4754A, DO-178C, DO-160G)
- Analyze test results and document validation reports, non-conformity reports, and traceability matrices
- Interpret wiring diagrams, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and functional logic schematics
- Participate in technical reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR) with system, development, flight test, and certification teams
- Contribute to the setup and deployment of test and automation tools (Python, TestStand, LabVIEW, etc.)
- Collaborate with certification teams to ensure compliance with civil or military standards
- University degree in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
- Relevant experience in the integration and/or validation of avionics systems
- Knowledge of avionics system architectures
- Significant experience with DOORS is mandatory
- Strong understanding of qualification, safety assessment, and certification standards, particularly military ones such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-HDBK-217, or similar
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and interpret technical documentation
- Familiarity with automated testing or simulation tools is an asset
- Proficiency in French and English (bilingualism is an asset)
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, autonomy, and a good team spirit

Your Role
Under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance, your role will consist of performing routine maintenance tasks as scheduled by your coordinator.
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Performing inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, overhauls, or modifications on aircraft, components, and equipment within Starlink’s fleet as assigned;
- Complying with procedures outlined in the Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM);
- Reporting any discrepancies found during maintenance activities to the maintenance coordinators;
- Reporting any uncompleted work to the maintenance coordinators using the proper deferral process;
- Supporting the rectification of deficiencies found during routine inspections or reported by flight crews after a flight;
- Carrying out tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures, with a strong focus on personal safety, as well as the safety of colleagues and clients;
- Maintaining required training certifications;
- Following all health and safety procedures and only using company-approved equipment and materials;
- Keeping a clean and organized work environment;
- May be required to assist other teams (e.g., line maintenance or heavy/moderate maintenance) during downtime in their assigned team;
- Performing any other related duties as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (maintenance);
- Must be in the process of obtaining a valid AME license from Transport Canada;
- Understanding of aircraft maintenance procedures and operations;
- Ability to perform tasks in accordance with aircraft specifications and maintenance manuals;
- Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status;
- Eligible for obtaining an identity card for restricted areas (RAIC);
- Driver's License class 5 (an asset).

Qualifications
High School diploma.
You must have completed a recognized apprenticeship program, and/or have a least 4 years industry related experience.
Possession of a Transport Canada AME M2 or M1 license (Mandatory)
