JOB DESCRIPTION

The Stewiacke Tim Hortons is looking to expand its leadership team by bringing in someone in the role of Afternoon Shift Supervisor.

This is a full-time and permanent role.


A successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all standards are met throughout the shift. Communicate goals and coach team members while working as a team. Enforce policies throughout the shift and report directly to the Manager on a consistent basis.


This role holds a key to the store and is responsible for handling registers and completing a closing regime to ensure restaurant preparedness for the next day. The shift supervisor shifts will start as early as 12:00PM and may run as late as 10:30PM with the store closing at 10:00PM.



Duties for this role include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring closing duties are completed
  • Clearing of tills
  • Ensuring stations are stocked and ready for the morning rush
  • Coaching team members and ensuring proper execution
  • Work as a team lead to achieve daypart-specific goals
  • Assist guests with any questions or concerns



Previous Tim Hortons experience is an asset, but not required.

Job Description

  • Lift, assemble and tack joist pieces at the jig
  • Read and interpret shop drawings as required
  • Find the right pieces of metal, position them, line up and secure all pieces according to the design and help set up the jig as required
  • Keep the work area clean and follow 5S standards
  • Practice good housekeeping, including 5S and time management, in the performance of daily duties
  • Comply with all legislated and company’s Health, Safety Environmental, Quality and Lean policies, procedures and programs
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to produce clean, accurate welds and to pass CWB welding test(s)
  • Ability to regularly push/pull/lift up to 50 pounds, ability to stand continuously, and hold a welding gun
  • Welding experience or training in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to communicate, read and write in English is a must
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and operating policies, procedures and instruction
  • Ability to work safely and maintain production demands
  • Willingness to engage in training as required, and to work overtime, including weekends

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must always be worn (including but not limited to: metatarsal safety boots, safety glasses, welding helmet, welding gloves/sleeves, ear plugs and respiratory protection).

Position will require the ability to produce welds which meet company quality standards, the ability to lift parts as needed and the ability to work at a pace established by production standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with our preventative maintenance software to minimize equipment downtime
  • Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, and generators.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during installation, set-up, and repair.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, as well as programmable logic controls.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Operate machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Millwright apprenticeship program or equivalent.
  • Valid Red Seal Certification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in industrial machinery installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings.

Summary

Under the responsibility of the Logistics Supervisor, the Material Handler I performs warehouse functions, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting.

Essential Functions

  • Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting
  • Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
  • Responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products and loading and unloading of trucks
  • Responsible of dealing with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)
  • Provide technical and maintenance support for different aspects related to the automated packing system during the core shift hour of production

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Ability to be a team player and able to work within a diverse work environment
