About this Role:

As a Brazer, you will be responsible for assembling and brazing refrigeration coils/finished refrigeration unit assemblies. You will conduct leak testing to ensure that quality expectations are met and to confirm success of each braze in the field. Your work will be performed while adhering to our organization's safety standards and while keeping in line with production schedules and goals. This role demands keen attention to detail, and proficiency in reading and interpreting piping schematics and assembly drawings.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Successfully employ manual oxy fuel brazing process to braze various metals using appropriate filler materials and fluxes.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to all organizational and provincial safety guidelines.
  • Follow all production procedures as instructed and perform all work to manufacturing specifications.
  • Work effectively, as part of a team, in a unionized environment to ensure quality and productivity.
  • Train to become proficient in other manufacturing equipment and processes to provide coverage wherever necessary.
  • Ensure the daily and weekly production schedule is adhered to.
  • Participate in educational and training sessions as necessary.
  • Complete other duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.


Preferred qualifications include:

  • Must be reliable, punctual and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, labour-intensive manufacturing environment.
  • Must have mechanical aptitude, with the ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, piping schematics, and other technical diagrams.
  • Strong working mechanical knowledge of machines, tools, and previous experience as a brazer/welder.
  • Committed to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Post-secondary education and/or work experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Adaptable and flexible with the ability to adjust to changing tasks and priorities.
  • Hold or be eligible to obtain in-house crane certification.


Core Physical requirements include the ability to:

  • Stand for prolonged periods throughout the shift (10 hours)
  • Lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift
  • Regularly bend, twist, and climb ladders as needed throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

By working in a Just-In-Time Environment – our Team must be flexible and willing to adapt to changing work priorities, while understating and maintaining a safe work environment.   • Troubleshooting equipment, which can include but is not limited to Robotics, Hydraulics, Pneumatics and PLC’s
  • Tests, inspects, dismantles, repairs piping, fittings and fixtures as required for maintenance and construction of pipe lines for air, water, steam, acid, caustic, etc.
  • Maintains inventory of spare parts.
  • Attends daily Start of Shift and End of Shift meetings for proper handover of shifts.

    • Power distribution equipment like transformers, load centers, bus bars, wiring, switch gear, etc.

  • Demonstrated hands on experience troubleshooting, repairing and completing preventative maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing/industrial environment
  • Demonstrated experience working with Hydraulics and Pneumatics
  • Experience with the repair of Gate, Globe, Plug and Check Valves. (Repacking, bushing and bonnet repair, gate, and seat repairs)
  • Proficient use of precision machinist tools and able to operate a forklift, carry deck crane, JLG, or other motorized equipment
  • Experience with precision shaft alignment by reverse dial indication method or laser alignment equipment, installing sole plates, and leveling
  • Demonstrated experience working with robots and highly automated equipment
  • Ability to trouble shoot and use critical thinking along with problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience with PLCs and electrical knowledge
  • Experience working with injection mold machines as well as paint is considered an asset
  • Experience working with automation is considered an asset

Role Summary

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor leads theday-to-day management of all production activities for the morning shift at the Beaverdale, Cambridge. The Supervisor oversees all production-related, people, safety, quality delivery and cost activities, handles inventory management of critical production supplies, and leads continuous improvement projects to enhance compliance, productivity and costs within the facility. Reporting into the Production Supervisor will be hourly production employees in various classifications.


**This is an Afternoon-shift position, Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 11:30pm


Role Specific Requirements:

  • Lead and manage production to established specifications within a sterile and aseptic work environment, ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), safe work practices, and other company policies and procedures.
  • Inventory management of critical supplies to ensure production needs are met.
  • Maintain andoptimize regular management processes (production schedules, daily performance metrics, communication and reduction in unplanned downtime, scrap, rejects, etc.) and make recommendations and take actions for improvements.
  • Motivate and develop employees via coaching, positive influence, team building, daily communication and accountability management, with a view to maintain and improve processes and performance; and implementing projects and standard operating practices to reach business and team objectives.
  • Facilitate training and development of all production employees, ensuring they have the skills, knowledge and competence to carry out their duties efficiently, effectively and safely and to cGMP/GDP standards.
  • Ensure all deviations from validated processes and procedures are reported, investigated with actions in accordance with company requirements and timelines.
  • Ensure safety, health and environmental procedures are given due priority. Identify, investigate, correct and document potential environmental and safety problems. Ensure corrective actions are implemented and adhered to on a daily basis.
  • Control and oversee environmental compliance and waste handling, storage and disposal for the facility, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Develop solid respectful relationships with direct reports, department managers and co-workers in various departments.
  • Collaborate with other departments and share knowledge for continuous improvement and to meet product quality standards.
  • Respond to all inquiries both internal and external in a timely manner.
  • Attendance management, including absenteeism.
  • Payroll ensuring all hours worked are accounted for in the ADP time-keeping system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:


Essential

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a production/manufacturing environment
  • At least 2 years of experience in aseptic manufacturing environment would be considered an asset
  • University or College degree required
  • Strong working knowledge of cGMP, FDA and Health Canada regulations would be considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of theOntario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Exposure to problem solving & continuous improvement methodology and practices
  • Strong technical aptitude
  • Self-starter with the ability to provide solid leadership to a diverse team
  • Proven ability to build relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, professional attitude and the ability to interact with various individuals
  • Computer literate in the MS suite of programs


Desirable

  • Manufacturing experience at a supervisory level in a pharmaceutical environment

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced AZ Driver in Kitchener, ON to join our transportation team from Monday - Friday,  12 :00pm start time . The primary responsibility will involve moving loads of scrap metal from our customer site in Elora to our site in Kitchener. You may also be required to assist other locations from time to time. 

What you're responsible for:

  • Operating an AZ-class tractor pulling an end dump trailer  to transport metal materials to and from designated locations
  • Performing multiple tasks in various styles of trucks (tractors pulling end dump trailers, super roll off trailer, etc)
  • Shunting trailers in and out of docks
  • Safely loading and unloading metal materials onto the truck using appropriate equipment and secure the load
  • Using a crane to assist with balancing loads in trailers or bins before moving load as necessary (training provided)
  • Performing manual tarping if necessary
  • Performing routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck
  • Completing accurate and thorough records of deliveries and any other required documentation
Qualifications

To join our team:

  • You have a valid AZ driver's license with a clean CVOR and Drivers Abstract
  • You have experience driving 18 speed manual transmission (required)
  • You have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an AZ Driver
  • You must be physically fit to hand tarp 40 and 53yd bins
  • You are customer service-oriented with strong communication skills
  • You have physical stamina and the ability to perform loading and unloading activities
  • You have familiarity with metal recycling processes and materials (an asset)
