Position Overview
Allied Universal is hiring an Assistant Supervisor - Security Services to support the delivery of high-quality security operations at a busy, high-profile shopping centre in Guildford (Surrey, BC) . This vibrant retail hub welcomes thousands of visitors each day and requires strong leadership to ensure the safety and comfort of guests, staff, and tenants.
The Assistant Supervisor - Security Services reports to the Security Supervisor and helps coordinate daily security operations. This role includes team supervision, incident response, reporting, and supporting client and guest relations.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Support
- Assist in supervising day-to-day security operations and personnel
- Act as lead during shifts in the absence of the Security Supervisor
- Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to team members
- Ensure staff adhere to professional conduct, dress code, and post orders
Site Patrols & Incident Response
- Conduct regular foot patrols and monitor security systems (CCTV, access control, alarms)
- Respond to incidents and emergencies promptly and professionally
- Investigate and document all security-related events and concerns
- Follow site-specific procedures for emergency response and reporting
Administration & Communication
- Maintain accurate and timely shift logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation
- Oversee radio communications, keys, access cards, and security tools
- Coordinate shift schedules and assist with team coverage
- Build strong working relationships with tenants, management, and first responders
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Enforce site policies and ensure team compliance with safety regulations
- Identify and report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or suspicious activity

Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid BC Security Worker License
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a security role, preferably in retail, commercial, or public spaces
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience is an asset
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable using technology including computers, security software, and mobile reporting tools

The Manager is accountable for ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality services per the Statements of Work (SOW). What you will do:
- Designs and implements operational reporting to ensure the successful delivery of the managed services
- Assists in the development of departmental KPIs and objectives

- At least 2 years of experience with people, project or customer account leadership.

Job Summary

About the role
The role of the Client Services Manager is to lead, manage, and support the day-to-day operations and service delivery for the Pacific Region. This position is responsible for ensuring exceptional client satisfaction, operational efficiency, and employee performance across multiple sites. The Client Services Manager will oversee scheduling, compliance, training, and incident response, while also maintaining strong communication with both clients and frontline staff. This role plays a key part in ensuring contractual obligations are met and in supporting regional performance goals through hands-on leadership and strategic oversight.
The day to day:
- Build and nurture client relationships by becoming a trusted security and safety solutions advisor, actively involved in all aspects of account management.
- Oversee a strategic portfolio of accounts, ensuring service excellence, contract compliance, and regular on-site presence.
- Develop and implement security solutions tailored to client needs, including risk reduction strategies and optimized coverage plans.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual and legislative requirements.
- Manage new business start-ups, including seamless transition planning and execution.
- Take charge of incident response and provide leadership during critical situations.
- Establish and monitor KPIs, delivering consistent reporting to drive performance.
- Negotiate contract renewals and rate increases with existing clients.
- Ensure all shifts are staffed with trained and qualified security professionals.
Knowledge:
- Legislation - Relevant government and security legislation in British Columbia
- Security Operations - schedule management, Standing Orders preparation, security systems (CCTV/Access Control), Incident Reporting set-up and installation
- Financial - margin maintenance/improvement, Client/Site financial analysis, Spend Control
What You Bring
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
- Successful applicants must have a minimum of 3 to 5 years' security operations experience in a managerial capacity in the Security environment
- A history of success in client relationship management, problem-solving, and business development.
- Strong operational experience, including the management of large teams across multiple sites.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.
- The ability to remain calm under pressure, exercising sound judgment and a hands-on problem-solving approach.
- Experience drafting policies, procedures, reports, business cases, and duty rosters.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong organizational and analytical abilities.
- A valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to a vehicle for travel between client sites.
- An understanding of financial and cost drivers in the security industry.
- Sales or management training (an asset).

The Sr. Consultant performs ongoing client support for highly complex technical performance issues and ensures adherence to service level agreements and customer service excellence. Recommends process enhancements and drives efficiency by reducing average troubleshooting time, repetitive issues and problem service tickets. What we expect of you:
- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or 3-year diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, or a Technology related field and 7 years of security experience in a client-focused environment, and/or working in security operations center, and at least 2 years of experience leading projects and initiatives to improve and transform the business, OR
- 11 years total of Information Technology experience to include 7 years of security experience in a client-focused environment, and/or working in security operations center, and at least 2 years of experience leading projects and initiatives to improve and transform the business
- At least 2 advanced or expert level certifications in Managed Security Services discipline, including but not limited to:
- Fortinet: FCX, FortiManager, NSE1-8, FortiAnalyzer (This is a must)
- Cisco: CCNP Security, CCIE Security.
- Palo Alto: PCNSE, Prisma SASE and SD-WAN
- The position is part of a 7-day per week, 24-hour per day managed services operations. Must be available to work outside of the regular business hours which may include weekends and holidays.

- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting IT infrastructure and Information Systems Design or support involving hardware, software and services at an enterprise level for at least one discipline in the Managed Security Services portfolio

As a Systems Designer, you will perform discovery and analysis of business and contractual requirements to define systems and sub-systems architecture and technical design packages. This position works in conjunction with Systems Designers/Engineers and the Project Management team to determine technical requirements for project work and to ensure fit and suitability of our product offering within the client environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare high level system designs in a thorough and professional manner during the pre-sales cycle. Design work may include conducting site surveys and device mark-ups, network architecture design, server loading, writing technical narratives and proposals, and preparing bills of materials
- Produce detailed design drawings and technical descriptions of physical security, other building technologies and the supporting networking, server and storage architectures in collaboration with owners and their representatives.
- Develop design documents that will guide the technical installation and configuration of systems
- Develop financial and logistics estimates, both independently and in collaboration with Paladin Technologies sales, marketing, and project management professionals
- Multi-task and manage time effectively to prioritize projects, tasks, and meetings as necessary
- Identify, establish, and document processes to support design efficiency and scalability
- Develop productive relationships with clients and key stakeholders which will build respect and confidence in the organization’s capabilities.
- Understand and maintain an awareness of the productivity and profitability of work carried out by the organization
- Pursue and maintain education and professional development of technology systems related to the technical disciplines you will lead.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of three years of design experience in the security, low voltage or building automation industries
- A strong understanding of the physical security and/or IT industries, including an awareness of complimentary products, technologies, trends, and the general application of physical security technology
- Experience with the following technologies is required:
- Bluebeam Revu, IP networks, low voltage electronics, power and communications, Windows desktop operating system, Microsoft Office
- An understanding of and experience with fundamental concepts pertaining to IP networks, low voltage electronics, power, and communications
- A strong command of the English language supported by excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and projects and be responsive to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Post-secondary education from an accredited college, university, or technical institution in Business, Construction Management, Electronics, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills
- Motivated self-starter with ambition to independently research new technologies as well as engineering and business methodologies/concepts
- P.Eng, EIT, CET, or equivalent professional technical designation is preferred
- Field experience in a construction environment is an asset

Job Summary:
The Security Systems Technician Apprentice will primarily be responsible to install, and trouble shoot security system components in commercial and institutional settings.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare for installations by reviewing installation orders, gathering equipment, supplies, and tools
· Installing and servicing electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion alarms.
· Plan installations by surveying and evaluating location, identifying installation requirements, and developing an installation plan.
· Install equipment, and run wiring.
· Involved in verifying systems functioning properly by testing equipment, connections, and signals, and identifying and correcting problems.
· Troubleshoot systems, resolve issues for customers and end users.
