Job Description
The Loss Prevention Specialist oversees two or more sites in the logistics space. Responsibilities include theft investigations, workplace incident interviews (including cases of workplace violence), and ensuring the physical security of facilities.
Establish risk-based security standards for Amazon's First, Middle, and Last Mile operations, and define methods for maintaining and improving those standards. Focus areas include loss exposure and control analysis, theft and loss investigations, physical security systems and controls, contract guarding services, education and awareness programs, workplace violence prevention, and loss prevention audits. Build and maintain strong relationships with regional leaders, First Mile, Middle Mile, and Last Mile operational teams, and cross-functional partners to ensure consistent implementation aligned with Amazon's strategic plans. This is a field-based role.

Responsibilities:
- Drive compliance with all S&LP program standards.
- Identify, develop, and implement additional loss prevention measures tailored to the specific needs of Amazon businesses.
- Partner effectively with operations and support teams to assess current and future processes and initiatives.
- Act as a member of a coordinated Loss Prevention team, continuously enhancing company-wide efforts.
- Investigate internal and external theft and fraud; conduct interviews when appropriate.
- Use data analysis tools and partner collaboration to identify inventory defects and develop strategic loss mitigation plans.
- Conduct internal and external audits of First, Middle, and Last Mile sites, addressing any security or loss prevention concerns.
- Monitor facilities for compliance with Amazon's security and S&LP policies.
- Perform inspections, audits, and investigations as required.
- Promote a culture of loss prevention through integrity and ethical practices.
- Support the development and deployment of cost-effective security systems to address risks and vulnerabilities.
- Use structured risk assessment processes to identify, prioritize, and mitigate threats.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and industry partners to protect Amazon's interests.
- Work closely with vendors and partners to address vulnerabilities and reduce risks.
- Represent the Amazon S&LP organization professionally through strong customer service and public relations; model the highest standards of conduct.
- Demonstrate expertise in loss prevention best practices for supply chain, distribution, and delivery operations-including physical security systems, investigation methods and legal considerations, contractor guard agency oversight, and delivery carrier loss mitigation.
- Recruit, hire, develop, and retain high-performing candidates for the security services team, when applicable.
- Engage, coach, train, and influence business partners to recognize and respond to loss prevention risks, promoting a proactive mindset.
- Ensure team members understand and align with Amazon's and World Wide Security Operations' vision and values.
- Deliver training and orientation for new hires.
Basic Qualifications
- Completed Bachelor's degree (preferably in Business, Engineering, Logistics, or an equivalent field)
- Experience in Security and Loss Prevention within supply chain, industrial environments, or express distribution and courier services
- Educational background in Loss Prevention, Security Management, Administration of Justice, or related fields; equivalent practical experience also considered
- Experience in conducting root cause analysis and prioritizing key factors
- Intermediate English and fluent Portuguese (both verbal and written communication)
- Availability to travel up to 50% of the time, or as required by business needs within Brazil
Preferred Qualifications
- CPP, PSP, or TAPA training is preferred and considered a strong asset
- Experience in interviewing and interrogation is desirable; Wicklander-Zulawski certification is a plus
- Operational management experience in distribution and express delivery is preferred
- Familiarity with developing, implementing, and managing security policies and procedures is preferred; experience conducting physical security risk assessments in manufacturing, distribution, commercial, or office facilities is a plus

Loss Prevention Supervisor
The Loss Prevention (LP) Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of area Loss Prevention personnel and programs. This role ensures the Area Loss Prevention plan is executed effectively, and that team members are trained, professional, and capable of delivering security programs in stores.

Loss Prevention Physical Security Specialist
The Loss Prevention Physical Security Specialist is member of the Loss Prevention Asset Protection team providing technical expertise, technical project fulfillment, and administration and technical services on Loss Prevention systems such as physical security hardware, keys and tokens, locking systems, access control, protection devices, and tactical merchandising supplies, as well as traditional security alarm systems.
The Loss Prevention Physical Security Specialists will work within our locksmith shop, fulfilling customer requests and ensuring timely delivery of security tools and supplies to our customers.
The Loss Prevention Physical Security Technical Specialist will provide support for internal stakeholder groups who use our Loss Prevention systems, security devices and product protection options. In addition, the LP Physical Security Specialist will fulfill or assign requests to vendors for changes and adjustments to access.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Protect all company assets and reduce losses.
- Conduct pinning and servicing of locks and cutting of keys (in workshop or on-site).
- Maintain key records, key controls, system logs, and system records.

- Represent company loss prevention objectives during projects and interdepartmental meetings.
- Carry communication tools (mobile phone, pager) and respond to after-hours emergencies, and alarm calls as required.

- Have completed and/or enrolling in London Drugs LP training program.
- First Aid and W.H.I.M.I.S. Training.
- Advanced general computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is preferred.
- Familiarity with access control, alarm monitoring, DVR and NVR software and hardware platforms is an asset.

Requirement:
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License and First Aid & CPR Certification required.
- Use of Force training and experience is mandatory.
- Minimum three years of experience in a security supervisor role, preferably in plain clothes retail loss prevention, with strong customer service skills and a solid understanding of the Criminal Code of Canada and relevant provincial laws.
- In-house retail loss prevention experience is an asset.
- Prior experience in identifying and deterring potential shoplifters as needed.
- Skilled in apprehending shoplifters, processing arrests, and preserving evidence, including video footage.
- Strong ability to assess and execute authorized arrests is essential.
- Experience liaising with regular service guards and local law enforcement as required.
- Proficient in completing and submitting incident reports to the Resource Protection database and filing online police reports when necessary.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between retail locations in London & Brantford/across our assigned region.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and travel across assigned sites as needed.
- Background in military, police, or law enforcement is an asset.
- Educational background in Police Foundations, Criminology, or Protection Security & Investigation is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of undercover security personnel (primarily in plain clothes) to ensure efficient operations in identifying and apprehending shoplifters.
- Conduct corrective discussions and prepare performance feedback reports as needed.
- Deliver ongoing training to team members on security protocols, legal requirements, and operational procedures, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry best practices.
- Provide emergency support to store management and staff during incidents such as fires, medical emergencies, or security threats, prioritizing the safety of all individuals on-site.
- Prepare comprehensive incident reports, documenting arrests, evidence collection, and other critical details for legal or operational follow-up.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by directorial or managerial leadership.

Loss Prevention Systems Technical Specialist
The Loss Prevention Systems Technical Specialist is member of the Loss Prevention Asset Protection team providing technical expertise, technical project management, and administration of Loss Prevention systems such as networked video and security monitoring, analytics and analysis tools, and traditional security systems.
Loss Prevention Systems Technical Specialist provides support for internal stakeholder groups who use our Loss Prevention systems. This position provides operational guidance and recommendations on the deployment and maintenance of Loss Prevention Systems Company wide.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Protect all company assets and reduce losses.
- Operate, administer, and monitor maintenance of specific Loss Prevention Systems including but not limited to video, access control, intrusion, data analysis, etc.
- Ensure optimal configuration and user administration of networked loss prevention video surveillance systems.
- Review and assess Loss Prevention systems performance, make recommendations on solutions for evaluation and implementation.
- Develop training materials to assist in the development of end user skills, provide support to department training efforts as required.
- Participate in vendor relationships related to utilization of equipment, tools, and services.
- Attend select industry meetings and events; remain current on security technology as it applies to Loss Prevention Systems, including video, intrusion, data, and analytics.
- Develop technology solutions to security challenges and make recommendations for new Loss Prevention systems.
- Work with the Asset Protection security design team on store development projects to plan a facility security strategy and design Loss Prevention systems to protect those facilities.
- Provide guidance and support to stakeholders integrating with Loss Prevention Systems on approved projects.
- Attend store locations to conduct site inspections of systems under development, and established systems for proper functioning.
- Support internal team utilization of Loss Prevention technology (i.e. Investigations, Response Centre, DSC & Supply Chain Security, and Corporate Security Team.)
- Represent company loss prevention objectives during projects and interdepartmental meetings.
- Carry communication tools (mobile phone, pager) and respond to after-hours emergencies, and alarm calls as required.
- Will travel to any company location or on behalf of company to industry events when required.
- Will be available to communicate with the LP team, Executive team, and authorities outside of scheduled hours as needed
