+ Registered Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario. Qualified Person in Ontario per O.Reg.153/04.Active membership in relevant industry bodies.
+ Minimum 15-20 years of progressive experience in geo-environmental science or engineering, including 10+ years in senior leadership or technical director roles. Minimum 10 years of experience within the earth and environment sector in Ontario and Atlantic Canada markets, including direct involvement in or managing pursuits/proposals for environmental science and engineering services.
+ Advanced knowledge of environmental site assessment, remediation and risk assessment projects.Experience with excess soil projects and emerging contaminants.Detailed knowledge of provincial and federal regulations and guidelines relevant to the business.
+ Experience leading environmental programs and portfolios, and acting as director of multi-disciplinary projects.Experienced and detailed senior reviewer.

DUTIES:
Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor or the Manager of the Little River Pollution Control Plant, and under the guidance of the Overall Responsible Operator (Chief Operator) when required, works as a Certified Industrial Mechanic abiding by all Acts and regulations in a safe and efficient manner. Will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, maintain, install and remove all required sewage treatment plant and pumping stations equipment utilizing proper tools and methods in conjunction with the complete operation of the plant. Will rebuild and replace worn parts when required by measuring and machining parts to exact sizes. Will hoist and rig machinery by over-head crane to various locations up to ten (10) ton capacity; reads and sketches drawings and fabricates and welds, utilizing various methods (i.e. brackets, stands, pulleys, special needs). Responsible for logging daily reports and giving written reports; orders tools and parts as required; instructs and guides Pollution Control Mechanic Trainees; communicates and cooperates with other employees; works in all types of weather conditions; works with minimum supervision. Will perform Occupational Health & Safety duties as outlined in the Corporation’s Health and Safety Program. Will perform other related duties as required.QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma plus a two (2) year Community College program as outlined in Note 1 below, or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalencies;
- Must have a Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright), Trade Code 433A;
- Must have over one (1) year of experience in mechanical repair and maintenance of an operations facility;
- Must pass a mechanical aptitude test given by the Corporation;
- Must pass the Operator in Training (OIT) exam, prepared by the Ministry of Environment within 60 days of employment;
- Must hold and maintain a current valid and lawful Class ‘G’ Driver's License in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act, for the purposes of operating a City of Windsor vehicle and provide a driver’s abstract as a condition of employment;
- The physical demands analysis associated with this job indicates a heavy level of work.
- Must complete a post-offer agility test in an effort to assist the successful candidate in completing the position tasks safely and to aid in minimizing injuries on the job.
Note 1:
As a minimum this program would be one of:
- Power Engineering Technology
- Engineering or Environmental Technician/Technology Program
- Terrain & Water Resource Technician Program
- Engineering or Science Degree
Note 2:
- For the term of the current Collective Agreement (i.e. January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2028) a 10% premium will be added to the base hourly shown while working in this skilled trade.

**What you'll do here:**
+ Lead in the development of air quality monitoring and management plans.
+ Operate and calibrate monitoring equipment to measure air quality and show how it is distributed throughout the atmosphere.
+ Maintain, repair, and audit air quality and meteorological equipment.
+ Assess what type of sampling, measuring, and/or monitoring equipment will be used depending on what the pollutant is and its quantity and location.
+ Coordinate field programs for air quality monitoring.
+ Prepare field documentation relating to field activities, including data collection, analysis, and manipulation, and collaborate with our many counterparts in all our different disciplines at WSP and provide expertise and client deliverables on projects.
+ Ensure safety training has been completed and safety rules are followed.
+ Communicate both orally and through written reports results of studies, field experiments, or ongoing monitoring to clients, peers, supervisors, committee members, and the public.
+ You'll be managing relationships with internal and external clients as you complete the field programs at our client sites, and ensure that their needs are understood and met, providing your guidance and expertise.
+ Ensure proper quality assurance/quality control procedures are performed on instrumentation, including maintenance and calibration.
+ Work with field scientists and technicians to complete field experiments and studies in air quality.
+ Identify opportunities to innovate in ambient air monitoring and implement new air monitoring technology.
+ You'll have an ability to be resourceful, to innovate and solve technical challenges.

**What you'll bring to WSP.**
+ 5+ year of related experience in ambient air monitoring.
+ Post-secondary education or experience in chemistry, electronics, instrumentation, environmental, atmospheric science, or similar technical field.
+ Experience with MECP and US EPA ambient air monitoring guidance and methods such as with high volume sampling, light scattering technology, and evacuated canisters.
+ You enjoy working outdoors, completing some fieldwork and like to work autonomously.
+ Training or aptitude with electronics and instrumentation and familiar and comfortable using standard hand tools relevant to the job.
+ Flexible, solution-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently or in a team environment.
+ Experience with the logistics of ordering and shipping equipment for project mobilization.
+ Ability to lift 30-50lb / 13-22kg of equipment or supplies on the job.
+ Experience mentoring, coaching, and managing staff.

- Assist other team members in the preparation of reports, proposals, marketing materials, and/or technical papers.
Qualifications
