Starlink Aviation is looking for an Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
Your Role
Under the supervision of the Director of Maintenance, your role will consist of performing routine maintenance tasks as scheduled by your coordinator.
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Performing inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, overhauls, or modifications on aircraft, components, and equipment within Starlink’s fleet as assigned;
- Complying with procedures outlined in the Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM);
- Reporting any discrepancies found during maintenance activities to the maintenance coordinators;
- Reporting any uncompleted work to the maintenance coordinators using the proper deferral process;
- Supporting the rectification of deficiencies found during routine inspections or reported by flight crews after a flight;
- Carrying out tasks in accordance with established policies and procedures, with a strong focus on personal safety, as well as the safety of colleagues and clients;
- Maintaining required training certifications;
- Following all health and safety procedures and only using company-approved equipment and materials;
- Keeping a clean and organized work environment;
- May be required to assist other teams (e.g., line maintenance or heavy/moderate maintenance) during downtime in their assigned team;
- Performing any other related duties as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (maintenance);
- Must be in the process of obtaining a valid AME license from Transport Canada;
- Understanding of aircraft maintenance procedures and operations;
- Ability to perform tasks in accordance with aircraft specifications and maintenance manuals;
- Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status;
- Eligible for obtaining an identity card for restricted areas (RAIC);
- Driver's License class 5 (an asset).

Qualifications
High School diploma.
You must have completed a recognized apprenticeship program, and/or have a least 4 years industry related experience.
Possession of a Transport Canada AME M2 or M1 license (Mandatory)
Possession of valid driver's license (Mandatory)
Able to successfully pass the pre-employment qualifying exam, physical and a security check.
Be available to work night, evenings and days including weekends and holidays.
Night shift is the permanent position for this posting. Possibility to change with seniority.
Ability to Pass and obtain an airside vehicle operator’s permit (Mandatory)
Possession of a restricted radio operators permit (aviation).
Employees in this role, conduct safety-critical work and as such, Air Canada medical standards must be met in order to qualify for the role. Candidates will be subject to a medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol test and are expected to be free of any intoxicating substances.
Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description
Carry out and certify sheet metal and composite repairs to aircraft components;
Carry out and certify sheet metal and composite repairs on Company and/or contract aircraft;
Planning, coordinating and executing work;
Perform the required inspections, evaluations and MRs;
Resolve material, tooling and engineering issues affecting the plan;
Estimate and define planned repairs;
Provide technical job direction and mentoring to ATs and other AMEs;
Coordinate and supervise the assignment of maintenance personnel to maximize production flow with TLs, Planners, other AMEs and personnel, as required
Sign maintenance releases (MR) for non-licensed personnel and signing for personnel not directly allocated to the work group on an ad hoc basis
Perform general visual inspections (GVI), detailed visual inspections (DVI), conformity inspections, self-checks and required inspection items (RII);
Sign off defects to defined standards;
Provide oversight and management of defects;
Complete and verify all technical records and data entries for any work performed;
Ensuring AW and safety policies, processes and standards are followed;
Mentoring, training and coaching maintenance personnel;
Ensuring adequate work hand off information is provided to personnel in Maintenance Operations Control (MOC) and to those on the next shift;
Ensuring a safe and tidy workplace
Be familiar with Transport Canada and Company manuals and documents;
Ability to read Structural Repair manual.
Ability to obtain an Airside Vehicle Operator Permit;

Possess of a Transport Canada (MOT) Structures "S" license, or working towards a “S” license and expected to obtain
