As an Aircraft Mechanic you will be responsible for operating, testing, modifying, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting all aircraft systems. Proficiently operate and understand a wide variety of test equipment and tooling. Must be able to interpret technical manuals and engineering data to support tasks.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
- Perform system and/or function checkouts of components (static checks, hydraulic function checks, flight control rigging, fuel system checks and oxygen, ect.) per appropriate approved maintenance procedures or FAA requirements.
- Remove and replace components on the aircraft per appropriate approved maintenance procedures or FAA requirements.
- Attention to the smallest detail or component and ensure every little part is inspected, installed and function test to approved procedures.
- Complete assigned work, including troubleshooting and repairs of malfunctioning systems in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and company safety procedures within established schedule.
- Accurately log on Labor Data Collection System for work orders and attendance tracking.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Basic computer skills.
- Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate with 2 years of experience or no A&P with 4 years of experience as an aircraft mechanic.
- Proficient with using hand tools and precision equipment.
- Capable of reading and interpreting approved aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics and maintenance procedures.
- Able to work on maintenance stands, lifts and ladders, work in confined spaces in unusual positions
- Able to lift minimum 50lbs and able to enter and exit the aircraft using steps and/or stairs.
- Must not be allergic to jet fuel, oils, hydraulic fluids or cleaning solvents.

Key Responsibilities:
- The AME/Technician is responsible for checking and maintaining the condition of aircraft and engine, makes repairs, replacements and adjustments, in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.
- S/he is accountable to the Production Manager for completing work assigned by the Lead Hand or Production Manager. The AME/Technician will ensure that all work is done in accordance with the policies and procedures defined locally and by Transport Canada.
- Complete verification inspections, if trained, as directed by Lead Hand / Production Manager and maintain integrity of all issued documents.
- Interpret blueprints/specifications/standards and written technical instructions and bring forth any questions to the lead.
- Ensure shop area and tools are maintained in a clean and safe condition.
- Work with manager and coworkers to understand “the big picture”. Make any necessary adjustments to best achieve targets, including informing others of issues that might affect their targets.
- Disassemble, inspect, record discrepancies, recommend and record methods of repair
- Install, rig and carry out all other mechanical functions and test in accordance with manufacturer's specifications
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduated from accredited trade institution with Mechanics background
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in Mechanics-related general aircraft assembly, fabrication, installation.
- Proven ability to interpret blueprints/specifications/standards and written technical instructions
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications and or Skills:
- Experience with Twin Otter aircraft and system is considered an asset
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs
- Ability to acquire a Transport Canada issued Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
- Flexibility to change shifts is required.

As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will carry out maintenance tasks under the supervision of the Production Manager and provide mentorship to apprentices. You will conduct scheduled inspections according to the customer work package, identify and document findings, ensure compliance through inspections and audits, complete maintenance releases, participate in company SMS, report hazards or incidents, and maintain a clean work area with FOD vigilance.

Audit documentation of work performed to ensure compliance.
Complete maintenance releases for work performed.
Participate in company SMS and report hazards or incidents in accordance with company reporting procedures.
Maintain a clean work area and exercise FOD vigilance.
**Essential Skills**
Repair and maintenance of aircraft.
Experience in line maintenance and heavy maintenance.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with a license (can be a mix of line and heavy maintenance).
Minimum of 10 years of experience without a license.
Inspection and troubleshooting skills.
