The Operations & Service Support department at HOTSPOT FOR PETS manages and oversees all aspects of the pet resort and spa's operations. As part of this team, The Pet Care Specialists plays a pivotal role in maintaining the high standards of care that define HOTSPOT FOR PETS. This role requires not only a passion for animal welfare but also the ability to uphold our holistic care approach and adhere to rigorous safety and health protocols. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, proactive care, and the ability to connect with both pets and their owners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized, holistic care that attends to both the physical and emotional well-being of pets, ensuring they are healthy, happy, and safe during their time at HOTSPOT FOR PETS.
- Strictly follow all organizational standards, safety guidelines, and health protocols to maintain a secure and hazard-free environment for pets, staff, and clients.
- Diligently observe each pet's appearance and behaviour, identifying early signs of illness, discomfort, or distress. Report and address any health concerns promptly, ensuring the well-being of all animals under your care.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness in all pet suites, play areas, and common spaces, following a strict cleaning and disinfecting schedule to uphold a hygienic and welcoming environment.
- Ensure that each pet receives proper nourishment and hydration based on the specific instructions provided by their owners. Handle dietary needs with care and precision.
- Monitor pets during group activities, ensuring safe and enjoyable interactions. Proactively engage with the pets to create a stimulating and positive experience for them during playtime, walks, and exploration.
- Serve as a compassionate and knowledgeable point of contact for clients. Address any questions, provide updates, and ensure a seamless experience during check-ins and check-outs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in pet care, veterinary assistance, or animal welfare.
- Strong understanding of animal behaviour, health indicators, and emergency procedures.
- Ability to follow detailed care instructions with precision and efficiency.
- Physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting pets, cleaning, and handling.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with clients and team members professionally.
- Certification in Pet First Aid and CPR is a MUST.

The Role:
Our ideal Vet Assistant will counsel and educate clients, under the direction of a Veterinarian or a RVT, on various aspects of animal care such as dosage/purpose of medications, home care, vaccination requirements, and preventative healthcare recommendations. In collaboration with the team, they will suggest and explain laboratory procedures and testing. They will also greet, handle, and treat animals in a way that contributes to an environment in which animals feel safe and secure.u00a0
