We are looking for an Electrical Engineer experienced in High Voltage systems to join our team. As a site Electrical Engineer, you'll be directly responsible for overseeing the design, operation and maintenance of high voltage electrical systems for our chemical manufacturing facilities at Welland. The Niagara Falls Facility operates various process and utility systems that include chemicals, gasses, a variety of electrical systems, water systems, HVAC, waste, vacuum, and controls. The unit runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The selected candidate will work closely with the manufacturing team to understand how the utility systems impact the process as well as how to reduce consumption.
The successful candidate will be proficient in High and Medium voltage substation and distribution project planning, design, construction, and commissioning; it is expected that they have an understanding of requirements and limitations in the following key expertise areas.
This position will be reporting to the Site Projects Group Manager.

+ Have direct communication with the primary electrical utility provider for the site.
+ High voltage and Medium voltage Protection and Control Operation and Maintenance coordination.
+ High voltage and medium voltage power distribution and substation design (115kV /13.8kv/4160V/600V or lower)
+ Greenfield and brownfield project experience, Smart device interconnection design and planning.
+ Understanding of Industrial networking and SCADA for electrical systems.
+ Relaying fiber network, design, implementation and commissioning.
+ Redundant high reliability electrical design
+ Station Service controls distribution design, construction and commissioning.
+ Wholistic system commissioning, planning and execution.

You will bring:
+ Bachelor's Level Degree or Equivalent in Electrical Engineering
+ Should be a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
+ Minimum 6+ years of Industrial Work Experience including high voltage work, preferably in Chemical process industries
+ Experience must be in Industrial facilities operated to world-class standards in the areas of Safety, Health & Environment as they pertain to process safety, maintenance work and the use of contractors
+ Applicants must be fully authorized and certified to work in Canada
Additional qualifications preferred:
+ Experience of completing projects in manufacturing units that handle hazardous materials including corrosives, flammables and pyrophorics
+ Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) familiarity
+ Preference will be to candidates having experience in both batch and continuous chemical process environments
+ Experienced in implementing projects where the manufacturing systems interface with a Distributed Control System (DCS)
+ Competent in the direct supervision of contractor personnel in all disciplines in the execution of project work in an operating industrial chemical manufacturing facility
+ Experienced in start-up and commissioning new systems or units after project completion
+ Possesses project coordination skills:
+ Acting as an internal project resource on other company or corporate projects or initiatives, providing business process knowledge, facilitation, leadership skills, and system development experience
+ Advocates the project through the funding approval stage and able to manage project procurement and contracting phase
+ Leads the project execution phase including field supervision of construction activities; ensure safe work practices by contractors and field personnel
+ Manages the proper turnover of completed projects to the operating unit and proper completion of final project documentation
+ As part of the annual Capital Budgeting process, makes proposals for areas of upgrade or operational improvement to the manufacturing process or utility systems
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
+ Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions

**Job Description**
AECOM has a position available for a **Renewables/Distributed Generation Engineering Specialist** as part of our multi-disciplinary energy and engineering team in Western Canada.
**Job Summary:**
Our team provides a wide range of electrical engineering services across markets sectors including transmission (substations, overhead and underground transmission systems, generator interconnections, interconnection strategy), renewable generation (Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Wind), power distribution (overhead and underground power systems, substations, EV charging networks, microgrid design, etc.), and next generation energy (hydrogen, fuel cells, electrolyzers, etc.).
We are looking for an up-and-coming leader with a renewables/distributed generation design and power engineering background to promote our skills to new clients and maintain our existing client base. Qualified candidates will have a strong background in solar engineering coupled with experience supervising teams and leading tasks on projects. The successful candidate is expected to be a detail oriented, experienced engineer who can make decisions independently under the guidance of senior staff.
The focus of the experience must be in the power industry associated with solar engineering and design and their interconnection and distribution systems. Experience with battery energy storage and/or wind power is a plus.

**Major Responsibilities:**
The responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:
+ Supervising a team of engineers in the completion of utility scale solar projects as well as solar microgrid solutions
+ Working with Project Engineers and Project Managers on developing design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering work activities
+ Supporting company business development activities as it relates to renewable energy projects
+ Providing input to management on project resourcing and staff forecasting needs
+ Monitoring your teams project progress to ensure quality, on-time and on-budget delivery of projects Solar PV system design including array layouts, DC string sizing, equipment layouts, and utility interconnections for rooftop, carport, and ground mount (fixed tilt and single-axis tracking) systems
+ Solar PV system energy production modelling
+ Developing solar construction and equipment specifications
+ Engineering calculations (NEC maximum system voltage, conductor sizing, overcurrent protection sizing, utility disconnect requirements, voltage drop, and conduit sizing)
+ Support drawing production - Solar PV system
+ One line and three-line diagrams, Cable and Conduit Schedules Bill of Materials PV system cost estimation and payback evaluations DC and low to medium voltage power distribution design
+ Supporting projects through complete life cycle including the feasibility phase, preliminary and detailed design, issue-for-bid, construction, start-up, and commissioning
+ Participating in and presenting engineering work at client meetings
+ Serves as lead solar engineer and Engineer of Record on mid- to large size solar PV projects
+ Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise, technical expertise for studies and design efforts, and presents complex technical solutions to clients
+ Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others
+ Participates in development of technical proposals
+ Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule
+ Reviews, checks and signs off work prepared by team
+ Ensure that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of design work
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must meet the below requirement, at a very minimum:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant field of study + 4 (four) years of relevant experience including in the electrical design of commercial and utility-scale solar PV systems.
Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Current professional engineering license.
+ Ten (10) years of engineering experience preferred
+ Highly Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, PVsyst, and Microsoft Excel desired
+ Experience with other software in the industry such as NREL SAM, ForgeSolar, and Helioscope Battery Energy Store System and/or other renewables experience
+ MV AC Collection System Design Experience
+ Proficient with the NEC, as well as related codes such as IBC and NFPA 855
+ Strong Familiarity with utility practices, industry codes and standards (NESC, IEEE, PIP etc.).
+ Experience with efficient building design, including municipal infrastructure
+ Experience working with utilities in Western Canada
+ Interest in developing talented technical teams
+ Able to lead engineering tasks with strong communication skills (written and verbal)
+ Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish.

+ Design and specification development for electrical power systems up to 25 KV, distribution systems, and low-voltage applications including lighting, fire alarm, telecommunications, and security systems.

**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
