About the Role – Application Engineer
The Application Engineer works with prospective and existing Litmus customers to develop solutions that demonstrate measurable value to the end user and customer business.
The Application Engineer leads the development and configuration of the Litmus Edge and Litmus Edge Manager products during both proof of concept projects and production implementations.
During a proof of concept project, the Application Engineer supports the Sales Engineer by providing best practice configuration and design information to expedite value from the project as quickly as possible. The Application Engineer will also develop custom or more complex configurations needed when a customer requires specific functionality to be demonstrated during the proof of concept.
Additionally, the Application Engineer will also lead production implementations and configurations of the Litmus Edge and Litmus Edge Manager products. The Application Engineer will work closely with the end users to provide support during product implementations. In cases where Litmus has been commercially contracted to perform the implementation, the Application Engineer will ensure a successful implementation by performing all contracted technical responsibilities. Post implementation, the Application Engineer also provides Level 3 support to existing customers via the Litmus Service Desk.
Finally, the Application Engineer works closely with the Senior Technical Account Manager and the Sales team to help drive product expansion with existing customers by providing ideas and suggestions to help expand product footprint, functionality and services with our customers. They also provide input to the Sales Team to help shape and review technical aspects of proposals.
Responsibilities:
- Validate customer requirements for proof of concept and production implementations
- Perform Litmus Edge and Litmus Edge Manager product configuration during proof of concepts or production implementations
- Develop innovative ways for customer to maximize value from the Litmus products
- Maintain and contribute to internal library of solutions and best practices for deploying the Litmus Edge Product Suite
- Own assigned areas of documentation and ensure that content is relevant and current
- Be a technical expert on implementing Litmus Edge and Litmus Edge Manager into a customer environment
- Provide feedback to the Sales Team regarding technical architectures and configuration requirements contained in proposals and to provide industry and technical knowledge to support pursuits
- Work with the Sales Engineers to enhance and maintain the quality and effectiveness of demonstration scenarios
- Provide expert technical support to Litmus Service Desk to troubleshoot and provide L3/L4 support
- Work with Account Executives to provide product, business and technical knowledge in support of sales activities and strategies.
- Responsible for providing feedback from the market to Product Management and Development regarding additional products including gaps between product functionality and market/customer demands, as well as documenting bugs and suggesting new features.
- Communicate with Product Management and Development to provide valuable field input into new product requirements.
- Stay abreast of product roadmap as well as understanding the scenarios, features and functions within each of the products and how these are applied to address business and technical issues. This includes participating in internal software testing, delivering internal training and providing support for Litmus Partners and Value Added Resellers as necessary.
- Work with colleagues to enhance and maintain the quality and effectiveness of demonstration scenarios. Ensure smooth presales to implementation account transitions by facilitating "handoff" process with a focus on continuous customer satisfaction.
- Provide sales with ongoing support in fulfillment of RFI's, RFP's and other customer/prospect driven requests.
- Where necessary, engage marketing and field presales to deliver webinars including recorded or live demonstrations.
- Provide assistance and expertise to Litmus Partners and Value Added Resellers during the sales cycle to include analysis of prospects business requirements, solution architecture and solution presentations.
- Attend conferences, participate in Customer Meetings and Customer Focus Groups to stay on top of changes in business issues, requirements, regulations and technology to understand where the market is going. Participate in local, national and international Customer User Group conferences.
Qualifications
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically delivering solutions pertaining to the shop floor, automation, industrial Internet of Things, or analytics
- Familiar with network protocols and architecture
- Experience coding in languages such as java script or python
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
- Understanding of databases
- Familiarity with Linux based systems
- Technical skills in Cloud and Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure with one or more of the major vendors such as Azure, AWS, GCP, and Cloudera.

Senior Application Engineer
**About the role:**
Create control databases, user interfaces and setup of control systems based on project
specification and/or sale proposal. Perform field startup and system commissioning tasks. Provide
on-site and remote technical support to installers and customers. A Senior Application Engineer will

General Description

- Lead beta testing initiatives at customer sites to validate performance and usability.
- Manage application engineering projects and contracts, including technical documentation and timelines.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities for integration.
- Support integration of third-party hardware and software with Delta IBT systems.
- Mentor and support junior engineers on technical initiatives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in building controls and product applications.
Job Requirements
- 5–7 years of industry experience in building automation, controls, or a related technical field.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Integrated Engineering, or a technical diploma in a related discipline.
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of leading engineering projects from concept through execution.
- Strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with Delta IBT systems (e.g., Node-RED, Python, GCL+).
- Familiarity with IoT technologies, sensors, and wireless systems.
- Knowledge of LEED, WELL, or ASHRAE Guideline 36.
- Experience in electronics manufacturing or a quality-controlled technical environment.
- Project management experience or certification (e.g., PMP).
- Understanding of sustainable building standards and practices.

Salary : $88,000 - $116,000
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.

What will you do as a Field Application Engineer? The Field Application Engineer (FAE) will apply product knowledge of LMI sensors and networking products to support sales activities at a technical level. The FAE works closely with customers to resolve technical issues as well as interact with sales team members to support successful sales outcomes. Activities include timely response to application testing, code snippet development, troubleshooting, travelling with sales reps to assess the technical requirements of customers, recommending appropriate product solutions, and general support of the sales process to grow business for the region.- Frequent visits to potential customer site to support pre-sales activity at a technical level
- Perform -testing of samples sent in by customers (to determine if our sensors meet the application requirements) and report results.
- Work closely with customers to identify technical requirements and propose solutions for customer’s applications
- Create software that is used for test, demonstration and evaluation purposes to promote the use and sale of LMI products. All software is created within the R&D software design guidelines and in cooperation with the R&D department
- Provide training or product demonstrations to existing and potential customers on LMI’s premises or at the customer’s premises
- Develop strong relationships with key customer personnel at technical levels
- Log all customer support interactions in LMI’s customer support ticketing software, ensure these records are updated regularly, and issues are resolved in the quickest time possible
- Produce technical sales materials in cooperation with the sales and marketing departments
- Produce training materials in cooperation with the sales and marketing departments
- To be familiar with all of LMI’s processes for sales and marketing and work within and support these processes
- To learn and become proficient in the operation, characteristics and performance of all LMI sensor products
- Support the sales team in preparing for trade shows and attend these shows when necessary
- Continually provide feedback as to how LMI’s products or services can be improved to enhance our customer's experience
- Bachelor of Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering degree or equivalent
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience in the high technology industry / factory automation industry working on various projects relating to their area of study
- Minimum of 2-3 years customer service experience or equivalent work experience.
- Excellent knowledge of tools required by their discipline (Software – Visual Studio (C/C++, C#, VB.NET), Python, Mechanical – Fusion 360, Electronics – Wiring and setup, basic soldering skills) with demonstrated ability in past project accomplishments
- Strong working knowledge of machine vision and automation industry
- Basic knowledge of computer networking, digital image processing and PLC (Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
- Problem solving skills using a clear understanding of facts and implementation of test plans and solution strategies
- Solid interpersonal skills for proper function in a team environment
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, have a positive attitude and a results oriented approach to business
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- A valid passport and the ability to travel frequently domestically or internationally.
