POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Application Support Manager, the Application Support Analyst provides front-line technical and business support for Ply Gem Canada business applications. This role will be responsible for taking calls and tickets from both internal users and customers and following them through to completion. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering high quality customer service, excellent communication skills, a good mix of technical skills and business process knowledge, and be able to work with little supervision in a complex environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide front-line support for the company’s AccuQuote system as well as other applications as required.
  • Create system and user documentation for multiple applications and processes that is thorough, complete, professional, and easy to understand.
  • Communicate to end users and business leaders about impending system changes.
  • Provide technical support to internal end users as well as customers.
  • Work with the Product Knowledge (PK) team to investigate and communicate issues related to PK.
  • Perform application & PK testing and quality assurance for Ply Gem Canada business systems.
  • Work directly with the third-party supplier of our AccuQuote system to resolve challenging issues.
  • Meet all performance and availability KPIs for application support.
  • Monitor the AccuQuote Support email mailbox.
  • Administration of various AccuQuote system settings and features.
  • Provide user training where applicable.
Qualifications

Education

    •     Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, or Information Technology or equivalent experience is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum one year experience in a customer service or front-line support role required.
  • Experience working in software development or information technology is preferred.
  • Experience working in the home building or window & door industry strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in the roles of Application Support, Tech Support, I.T. Business Analyst or I.T. Quality Assurance is an asset.
  • Experience with enterprise level software is an asset.
  • Experience with working and interacting in a fast paced, time sensitive, data driven environment is preferred.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is an asset.

Skills/Abilities

  • Responsible for managing all configuration changes for the Application
  • Works with third party vendors with respect to data coming from the various Applications via SFTP, API, and other connectivity modes.
  • Provide application support while recognizing bugs and opportunities for application enhancements and acts as a liaison between End-Users, Business Analysts and Developers
  • Facilitate communication between technology teams and other departments on issue status and resolution
  • Provide Overnight or weekend support for the applications on a rotational basis

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • IT related Diploma or Computer Science degree
  • 3-5 years as Tier1/Tier2 Application Support in enterprise environment and experience using a ticketing system
  • Certificate in ITIL
  • Experience with SFTP, API, and other connectivity modes
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $3,000 - 90,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.

**About the Role**
Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (FICC) IT at HSBC is a global asset class covering Front to Back IT services for business lines including Global Debt Markets, Emergent Market Rates, Market Treasuries and Foreign Currencies & Commodities. It is a global team with strong presence in London, Hong Kong, New York, Paris, Toronto, Guangzhou, Krakow, Pune and Bangalore
The team is responsible for:
Pre trade systems allowing orders, market data streaming, market negotiations, Algo trading, live risk
A suite of primary trading systems, which support the trading and risk management capabilities of the desks, as well as all upstream & downstream connectivity and data feeds for all business functions
The generation of the P&L and risk numbers for the Fixed Income and BSM business
Tools which allow display/enrichment of data produced by relevant systems
The candidate is required to be involved in production support (via a rota) and be proactively engaged in improvements on automation. With the right candidate, there is potential for the new hire to grow into a technical lead for the region.
**As our Application Support Specialist, GC (Global Calypso) Fixed Income, you will:**
+ Working in Global Calypso Team, the candidate will oversee work items requiring:
+ To be a major team member in Global Calypso Team in Toronto to build the strategic solution for Fixed Income trading
+ Work in DevOps model to support the Front Office Traders
+ Build application for both GUI and backend to support EM Rates & SCP electronic trading
+ To support business in the region for EM Rates & SCP Global Calypso Team related requests
+ Work with local and global IT team closely to deliver the technology roadmap
+ Build and maintain the global infrastructure environment as a part of the team
**What Your Day will Look Like:**
+ Monitor the Global Calypso batches (6000 jobs) throughout the day and make sure they complete within SLA
+ Detailed troubleshooting & solutioning of control-m failures, user issues, data issues etc
+ For any upstream or downstream issues, interact with various teams & get the issues fixed to have Global Calypso system ready for users
+ Take handover from India team in morning of Batch & user issues and resolve them during day
+ Interact with UK, US users and help to resolve their queries around derivatives products and workflow
+ Collaborate with US & India dev for any enhancement and prod issue fix work
+ Implement & Enhance observability on Global Calypso GCP, AWS, HIC & On-prem platforms
+ Handle monthly regression, release & deployment cycles for Global calypso
+ Enhance & maintain CI/CD pipeline for all sub applications of Global Calypso
+ Collaborate with Risk control officers to mitigate the risks around Global Calypso application
+ Work on Poc's to adapt Global Calypso Devops tooling stack as per latest HSBC & Market standards
+ Collaborate with central Jenkins, Ansible, G3, DigiBA, GCP teams to adopt new deployment standards in Global Calypso pipeline
**Qualifications**
You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role: 
+ Thorough knowledge of Calypso Product and its front to back functionality
+ Experience on workflow of Credit derivatives and IR derivatives trade FO and BO system
+ Thorough understanding of Structured Credit products like TRS, CDS, Nthloss etc.
+ 10 years of experience of supporting mission critical application
+ Experience of working with front office traders and product controllers on day-to-day basis to provide IT help & support
+ Hands on Experience in Cloud Technologies (GCP or AWS)
+ Well versed with any job scheduling tool (Control-M experience will be added advantage)
+ Sybase Database experience
+ 10 years of proven Devops experience in successfully creating & maintaining complex Devops solutions (Jenkins, Github, Ansible, G3)
+ Experience of working in Capital markets domains
+ Clear understanding of industry trend and ability to implement
+ Experience in executing POCs and demonstrating to stakeholders
+ Business knowledge in Fixed Income is a plus
+ Able to work with global teams and navigate in an international environment
+ Seeks solutions and is creative with it. Confronts blocking issues
+ Must have strong English communication skills
+ Good inter-personal skills, time management skills are required
Skills preferred, but not mandatory:
+ Sybase Database development knowledge
+ Calypso accounting knowledge
+ Python development experience
