The Role
Primary duties include:
- Assist other aquaculture technicians in the operation of fish hatcheries.

Join our team as a Night Shift Aquaculture Technician at Onda, where you will play a pivotal role in monitoring and ensuring the health and wellbeing of our aquatic animals. Your responsibilities will extend to maintaining the security and integrity of the facility and its equipment throughout the night. This vital position supports our Operations Department, which is integral to our business's husbandry maintenance and supply chain functions.
 
Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Planning: Execute the nightly plan as outlined by the aquaculture supervisor, ensuring adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols.
- Stockholding & Trial Support: Manage room turnovers, setup, and prompt removal of moribund fish as required by the area supervisor.
- Husbandry: Provide support for aquatic animals, including tank cleaning and feed weigh backs, as per supervisor guidelines.
- Maintenance: Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks to support continuous facility operation.
- Support Research Associates: Assist with tasks like labeling, data entry, and conducting nightly health checks on aquatic animals.
- Facility Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness in office areas, washrooms, lunchroom, and ante rooms.
- RAS Operation: Monitor and ensure the efficient operation of RAS units and all mechanical equipment.
 
- Data and Reporting: Ensure accurate logging of daily information, maintaining high data integrity and reliability.
- Systems and Operations: Adhere to operational standards and quality policies, promoting a culture of excellent regulatory compliance.

Le rôle : En tant que travailleur en aquaculture en eau salée, vous serez responsable de :
- Surveiller et faire fonctionner les systèmes d'alimentation
- Signaler toute irrégularité observée dans les stocks
- Installation, inspection et réparation des grilles
- Installation et retrait des cages marines et des filets
- Exploiter, entretenir et nettoyer les équipements et les enclos d'aquaculture
- Entretien général du site, y compris le lavage des filets
- Opération de bateaux pour les opérations d'aquaculture
- Tri et pesée des stocks d'aquaculture
- Assistance à la récolte selon les besoins
Qualifications/Exigences :
- Être un joueur d'équipe autonome
- Être prêt à travailler des heures et des horaires flexibles
- Avoir la capacité de travailler dans des conditions météorologiques extérieures sur les sites d'aquaculture et/ou à bord des navires de maintenance
- Détenir ou être prêt à obtenir un certificat de formation en sécurité maritime (MED)
- Expérience dans le domaine de l'aquaculture considérée comme un atout mais non requise, une formation en cours d'emploi est fournie
- Ce poste est intensif en main-d'œuvre, nécessite de rester debout pendant de longues périodes, et les candidats doivent être à l'aise pour travailler dans des conditions météorologiques extérieures sur les sites d'aquaculture et à bord des navires de maintenance
Rémunération : Le salaire horaire est basé sur l'expérience/la formation et commence à 18,54 $, complété par un ensemble d'avantages sociaux compétitifs en matière de santé et de soins dentaires.
