We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Technical Architectural Designer to join our Store Planning team. In this role, you will play a key part in preparing technical drawings and interior layout details for our retail stores, ensuring compliance with design standards, landlord requirements, and local building regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed technical drawings for retail store interiors using AutoCAD.
- Implement pre-approved design concepts into assigned interior spaces (non-load-bearing construction).
- Apply and ensure compliance with landlord design criteria and Level of Detail (LOD) requirements.
- Produce drawings required for building permit applications.
- Perform material take-offs and calculate required quantities.
- Prepare documentation for fixture and equipment procurement.
- Ensure construction drawings accurately reflect brand book guidelines and design team directives, and that final IFC, IFT, and IFP drawing sets are consistent and ready for the project management team.
- Coordinate with external consultants to ensure alignment with brand standards.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to integrate technical details of fixtures and fittings into drawings.
- Work closely with internal teams (IT, Loss Prevention, Marketing, Visual Merchandising) to ensure full coordination across all build aspects.
- Oversee external drafting consultants to ensure accuracy and compliance with design requirements.
- Participate in project planning with design and project management teams.
- Ensure drawing sets align with project budgets and timelines.
- Respond quickly to site-related issues and propose effective solutions.
- Maintain and update standard layout blocks and drafting configurations.
- Manage and keep the brand’s technical documentation and file directories up to date.
- 5–7 years of experience in retail construction drawing production (including space planning of individual stores)
- Proficient in AutoCAD and 3D rendering tools (Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp)
- Knowledge of MS Office products
- Demonstrates strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Can manage multiple priorities and tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Shows initiative and adaptability when facing new challenges.

The Architectural Technologist (Level 2) plays a key role in the design and development of commercial architectural projects, from concept through construction documentation. Working under the supervision of the Project Architect, the AT is responsible for making significant contributions to the Design Team through technical drafting, product research + specification, and assisting in space programming and design documentation. This position requires proficiency in Revit, a strong understanding of commercial building standards + systems, and the ability to communicate clearly with other project stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
Design & Documentation:
- Conduct site surveys to document existing conditions and incorporate field data into project drawings ensuring accurate as-built drawings of existing spaces
- Support the design team through concept development, schematic design, design development and construction document phases
- Develop site plans, floor plans, elevations, sections, and details
- Prepare architectural drawings, layouts, and construction documents for commercial projects using Revit
Technical Coordination:
- Collaborate with consulting architects, engineers, vendors and project stakeholders to coordinate architectural, structural, engineering and other technological design elements
- Support Construction Project Managers and on-site contractors with construction administration services such as documenting product and material submittals, responding to RFI, and organizing close out documents
Material & Product Research:
- Research and apply specialized design requirements for critical operations centers during design
- Research construction materials, finishes, and building systems for commercial applications
- Prepare material sample and finish color board presentations
- Review color renderings of the designed environments for presentation and client approval
Project Management Support
- Maintain project documentation and drawing archives

Other Duties Include
- Ability to occasionally travel to client sites
- Attend meetings with clients and/or consultants as required
- Update and maintain internal Revit template/standard details as needed
Qualifications:

• Produced presentation material including sketches, details, perspectives, diagrams and similar graphic representation by hand and/or with design software (Including Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint etc.)
• Produced architectural construction drawings, including but not limited to: context plans, site plans, OBC matrix, assembly types, floor plans, demolition plans, renovation plans, roof plans, exterior elevations, interior elevations, sections, wall sections, millwork, interior finishes, parking layouts, life and safety drawings, details, schedules, etc.
• Worked extensively with design software for production of drawing/ model deliverables such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, AECOsim, Open Buildings and other similar programs.
• Worked extensively with graphic design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc. • Worked with administrative software such as MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, ProjectWise, MS Teams, Webex, etc.
• Ability to learn new standards, skills, software and tools required to perform the work. Preferred
• Worked in production of renderings using software such as 3D Max, Sketchup, FormIT, VRAY, Lumion, etc.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Technologist with strong expertise in BIM software, specifically Revit and AutoCAD, to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in producing precise construction documentation, coordinating across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines, and executing high-quality 2D/3D designs in compliance with building codes and client standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate and detailed architectural and structural models using Revit and AutoCAD (2D & 3D).
- Generate complete construction documentation sets for Modular
- Perform clash detection using Navisworks, document conflicts, and lead coordination meetings to resolve design issues.
- Create parametric and nested families (e.g., curtain walls, balconies, railings, etc.) based on project requirements.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and ensure compliance with building codes and municipal standards.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve technical challenges and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Produce presentation materials and visual renderings using Enscape, SketchUp, and Photoshop.
- Assist in site visits, measurements, and assessments as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an Architectural Technologist.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
- Experience with SketchUp, Enscape, and Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
- Strong understanding of building envelopes, structural systems, and sustainable design principles.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and zoning regulations preferred.
- Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or related field.
- Experience with BIM 360 and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
