Position Overview:
The Mechanical Assembly Technician will work as part of a team to provide superior service and stakeholder satisfaction through responsibility for equipment assembly resulting in a quality and schedule driven environment, while ensuring the well-being of self and all internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
• Assemble/test specially designed equipment for recovering and processing de-icing fluids to ensure proper working condition;
• Perform equipment builds and repairs using a variety of hand and power tools, cranes/lifts, while following all safety procedures and regulations;
• Conduct end of assembly function and performance verification tests and adjust assembled systems to meet performance specifications;
• Set hydraulic pressures, flows, and other system adjustments to ensure assembled equipment meets specifications;
• Disassemble and rebuild component assemblies, including troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing malfunctions and restoring to proper working order;
Required Skills and Experience:
• 3rd year registered apprentice or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Previous experience with heavy equipment diagnostics, repair, maintenance or assembly;
• The ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair systems such as hydraulics, powertrains and electrical and electronic systems used in heavy duty equipment and truck and transport vehicles;
• Willingness to be trained on other duties and positions within the fabrication facility;
• Ability to follow drawings, schematics, procedures, to make and or assemble sub-assemblies, along with kits for electrical, and hydraulic systems without damage to pre-painted parts for a final product that passes Inland’s Quality and Operational standards;
• Ability to work independently to achieve project goals before deadline;
• Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel;
• Read, write, speak and communicate effectively;
• Ability to interpret documents including safety rules, operating and procedure manuals;
• Ability to work as part of a team;
• Ability to maintain a positive and good-natured attitude;
• Ability to remain calm and perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints;
• A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
Work Environment:
• The Mechanical Assembly Technician will work in a manufacturing and production working environment. There will be regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions (wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles and vibration). The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. There may be times when the Mechanical Assembly Technician will be required to work outside of their normal work schedule, so that we may meet the needs of our customers and/or operational requirements.
Physical Demands:
• It is expected that the employee be physically fit and able to perform all operational requirements;
• Position involves standing for extended periods of time as well as bending, kneeling, lifting, climbing, using hands to control tools and feel objects, reaching with hands and arms;
• Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 75 pounds occasionally and 50 pounds frequently;
• Wearing of personal protective equipment when required and full mobility allowing for freedom of movement in high-risk environment;

The Transformer Assembly Technician winds and assembles components as per company specifications, including wiring of electrical components such as relays, circuit breakers, transformers, and sub-assemblies.

- Assemble and fit metal and other prefabricated parts to close tolerances according to blueprints to build transformers.
- Make electrical connections using crimping, soldering, and welding devices.

Responsibilities:
- Assembly: Assemble and calibrate components of the Velacur device following approved work instructions, standard operating procedures, and specifications. Ensure all production and quality targets are met.
- Testing and Inspection: Perform electrical and mechanical testing on assembled devices to verify functionality and safety, conducting inspections at various assembly stages to ensure all components and systems meet specifications.
- Receive and Inspect Materials : Receive raw materials from suppliers, inspecting them to ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) standards. Document and report any quality issues, coordinating with quality control and procurement as needed.
- Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve assembly issues to uphold product quality and adhere to technical standards. Perform repair, inspection, reassembly, replacement, and adjustment of the device as required.

General Description
The Assembly & Install Technician will operate within the Project Department, working closely with the Designers and Project Managers. He/She will execute mechanical builds and assemblies of machine guarding, structural framing and automation control systems. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual who have a desire to play an integral role in our growing team.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble and configure industrial automation products
- Support design engineering team with continuous improvement of manufacturing and assembly techniques
- Perform and conduct assembly and fabrication with acute attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Perform quality audits on finished products for specification compliance
- Understand and observe common mechanical practices and processes throughout all tasks
- Utilize mechanical equipment such as cutting saw, tapping drill, milling machine, lathe and fastener tools
- Maintain and control inventory of product within the assembly area
- Practice safety and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment
- Determine and responsibly package product in preparation for shipping, observing best practices
- Execute and provide leadership throughout the overall production facility
- Readily available to assist with additional warehouse responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
Work Experience Requirements
- Work accurately and thoroughly within a team or independently
- Experience working with tools and manufacturing equipment
- Ability to use and read measuring tools
- Experience reading engineering drawings
- Knowledge of common mechanical practices and procedures
- Experience working in manufacturing environment an asset
- Knowledge of 5S practices an asset
- High degree of mechanical aptitude
- Possess manual dexterity to assemble and manipulate parts and products
- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
Education Requirements

Le Rôle
Nous recherchons des experts en assemblage électrique passionnés par l'excellence de fabrication, dotés d'un talent pour la résolution de problèmes et d'une attitude positive orientée vers le soutien d'équipe.
Dans un contexte d'évolution pour répondre à la demande croissante de nos imprimantes 3D de pointe, vous jouerez un rôle clé dans l'assemblage de produits haute performance, l'encadrement de vos collègues et l'assurance d'une qualité exceptionnelle.
Responsabilités
- Assembler et tester des composants et sous-assemblages électriques
- Offrir un mentorat pratique, soutenir le développement des compétences parmi les membres de l’équipe et contribuer activement au partage des connaissances au sein de l’équipe
- Assister le superviseur de production dans la coordination, la planification et le suivi des activités de production
- Assurer le bon déroulement et la sécurité des opérations en identifiant proactivement les risques, en proposant des mesures correctives (notamment aux comités SST) et en maintenant des normes élevées, incluant les principes 5S
- Surveiller et communiquer les besoins en matière d’inventaire de façon proactive
- Veiller à ce que les objectifs de production soient atteints en respectant les délais et les budgets établis
- Identifier et signaler les problèmes liés à la qualité des produits, collaborer avec les équipes d'ingénierie de production et de qualité pour la mise en place des solutions
- Maintenir un haut niveau d’organisation et d’ordre afin de favoriser un environnement de travail sécuritaire et efficace
Qualifications
- Formation collégiale, professionnelle ou technique en assemblage électrique, aéronautique, électromécanique ou domaine connexe
- Minimum de 4 ans d'expérience récente en assemblage de machines ou dans un environnement manufacturier similaire
- Maîtrise des outils manuels de base et des équipements de test électrique (multimètres, systèmes de test de câbles, etc.)
- Solide expérience pratique en assemblage électrique, câblage et systèmes de sertissage
- Capacité physique à soulever des charges jusqu'à 50 livres (23 kg) et à maintenir une position debout prolongée
- Capacité démontrée à diriger avec positivité, clarté et sens des responsabilités
- Excellente attention aux détails et dextérité manuelle
- Esprit d’initiative, sens du travail d’équipe et passion pour le travail bien fait
- Disponibilité pour des horaires flexibles et des heures supplémentaires
- Bilinguisme fonctionnel français-anglais requis

Responsibilities

- Collegial, vocational or technical training related to the fields of electrical assembly, aeronautics, electro mechanics or similar discipline
- 4+ years of recent work in machine assembly or similar manufacturing environment
- Proficient with basic hand tools and electrical test equipment (multimeters, cable testing systems, etc)
- Strong hands on experience with electrical assembly tasks, wiring, and crimping systems
- Capable of lifting loads up to 50 lbs, Able to stand for extended periods of time
- The ability to lead with positivity, clarity, and accountability
- Sharp attention to detail, with excellent manual dexterity
- A self-starter with a collaborative mindset and a passion for quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime
- Functionally bilingual in French and English
