The Assistant Transmission Engineer will work under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer to assist project teams to create world class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of projects including underground and overhead high voltage transmission lines. The Assistant Transmission Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting transmission line plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs.
+ Assists in the transmission line design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
+ Assists with modifying and reviewing production drawings for a variety of projects involving high voltage (69-500kV) transmission lines.
+ Assists in designing transmission line components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers including plan and profile drawings, structure load diagrams and foundation drawings.
+ Applies basic knowledge of commonly used civil and structural engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the civil/structural engineering services industry.
+ Assists with research and compiles project related data as required by the project managers. Assists with compiling studies and reports.
+ Assists with correcting and updating drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD related software.
+ Assists with client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of high voltage transmission lines.
+ Assists in performing field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an accredited program required or;
+ Bachelor Degree in Civil or related Engineering Technology from an accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam required.
+ Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
+ Basic knowledge in standard civil/structural engineering techniques, principles and procedures.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
+ Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).

Work under the direction of the Shift Engineer - Second Class to operate, repair and maintain a high pressure (600psig+), high temperature (750 F Superheat), primary combined cycle, parallel co-generation thermal Power Plant with currently installed capacity of 2890 boiler horsepower, as required by the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety Act and Regulations to produce steam and primary power; including the operations of boilers, feed water pumps, turbines, power distribution centres and related auxiliary equipment which changes as Plant operating and site strategies evolve, and currently includes: 600 psig Boilers
150 psig Boilers
1MW 4160 volt turbo-generators

Qualifications Education & Experience
Grade 12 plus three years' recent related experience in a second class industrial plant.
Third (3rd) Class Power Engineer's Certificate of Competency.

    **We need a Senior Data Engineer proficient in Spark, Scala/Java, and Hive, with extensive hands-on development experience in the Big Data Ecosystem.**
    **Key Responsibilities:**
    **Design, implement, and optimize highly performant data pipelines using Spark, Scala/Java, and Hive on platforms like Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) or other Hadoop echo systems.**
    **Take complete ownership of complex data engineering projects within the big data ecosystem, covering the entire lifecycle from initial design and development to deployment and ongoing maintenance.**
    **Develop robust and efficient Hive queries for extensive data analysis and reporting.**
    **Champion and enforce best practices and coding standards for new and existing data flows to ensure they are robust, scalable, secure, and maintainable using Spark, Scala/Java, and Hive within the big data ecosystem.**
    **Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues related to Spark, Scala/Java, and Hive applications and YARN resource management, implementing performance optimization solutions.**
    **Proactively collaborate with stakeholders, working closely to develop solutions with full commitment and accountability.**
    **Technical Skills & Experience** **:**
    **Proven hands-on development expertise with Apache Spark**
    **Strong programming proficiency in Scala and/or Java**
    **In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Hive, including query optimization and data analysis.**
    **Experience with data platforms such as Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) is highly desirable.**

    **The Big Data Engineer is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.**
    **Responsibilities:**
    **Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements**
    **Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards**
    **Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint**
    **Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation**
    **Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals**
    **Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions**
    **Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary**
    **Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.**
    **Qualifications:**
    **Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple sources.**
    **Big Data Infrastructure: Develop and manage large-scale data processing systems using frameworks like Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka.**
    **Proficiency in programming languages like Python, or Scala.**
    **Strong expertise in data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark, Hadoop.**
    **Expertise in Data Lakehouse technologies (Apache Iceberg, Apache Hudi, Trino)**
    **Experience with cloud data platforms like AWS (Glue, EMR, Redshift), Azure (Synapse), or GCP (BigQuery).**
    **Expertise in SQL and database technologies (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.).**
    **Experience with data orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or Prefect.**
    **Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus**
    **Good to Have Skills:**
    **Distributed caching solutions (Hazelcast or Redis)**
    **Prior experience with building distributed, multi-tier applications is highly desirable.**
    **Experience with building apps which are highly performant and scalable will be great**
    **Education:**
    **Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience**
    **Master's degree preferred**
