Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance & Automation Engineering Manager to lead plant maintenance operations, reliability programs, and automation initiatives. This role is critical in ensuring maximum operational efficiency, asset utilization, and equipment reliability, while reducing downtime through strategic preventive and predictive maintenance programs. This position also leads automation projects to enhance manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and overall plant performance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct and supervise plant technical support staff, including mechanics, technicians, electricians, assistants, and outside contractors.
- Set priorities for projects and departmental activities, engaging external maintenance contractors as required.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Time-Based Maintenance (TBM), Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM), and Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs for all equipment, plant utilities, and facilities.
- Ensure maximum efficiency and safe operation of facilities and production equipment.
- Recommend and oversee equipment modifications and upgrades.
- Optimize asset utilization and reduce unplanned stoppages through scheduled preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Create and maintain training programs to enhance the technical knowledge and troubleshooting techniques.
- Oversee facilities maintenance, including Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), electrical, and other building systems.
- Manage the procurement and inventory of maintenance parts and supplies to meet reliability and cost objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in plant engineering and plant maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of experience in a managerial leadership role.
- Leadership experience in maintenance project and engineering management.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with an innovative approach to solving mechanical problems.
- Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)-controlled machines.
- Ability to operate power tools and common hand tools safely and effectively.
- Fluency in Chinese is considered an asset.

What Would a Typical Day Look Like?
- Involvement in pre-sales support, develop overall solution architecture, requirements specification and system design, as well as construction and implementation.
- Perform gap analysis and determine best approach to address the gaps.
- Act as functional lead on a variety of projects
- Facilitate functional re-use in solution architecting.
- Building crucial relationships with key global partners within the manufacturing software scope of responsibility
- Participating in strategy determination with team leadership and global partners to promote the adoption of partner product suite in North America
- Being responsible for maintaining deep domain specific knowledge of Information/MES/IIoT solution architectures available in the manufacturing software space
- Provide learning and mentoring to others across the corporation.
What Qualifies You for this Opportunity?
- 7-10 years of experience in the manufacturing software arena, particularly using software that can be described as Information/MES/IIoT
- Experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment and with industrial controls
- Proven expertise in areas such as requirements specification, architecting solutions, systems analysis, and design.
- Certified with Inductive Automation’s Ignition Platform software; experience with Sepasoft and/or Cirrus Link Solutions integrated modules an asset.
- Demonstrable understanding of industrial automation PLC platforms, network design and implementation, OT/IT configurations, production and engineering processes.
- Advanced experience using industrial software packages provided by any or all the following vendors: Rockwell, Siemens, Aveva/Wonderware and GE.
- Experience with network architecture design, system virtualization, and associated design tools
- Experience using software and systems like MQTT, Azure DevOps, AWS, Node-Red, and Docker an asset.
- Development experience using Python, Java, JavaScript, and/or Microsoft .NET
- Experience with database software such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and/or InfluxDB
- Familiar with application development methodologies, techniques and standards, configuration management, middleware, networking and communication, and hardware configuration
- Project management experience an asset.

Job Summary
As the Senior Manager of Data Center Operations Services, you develop and execute strategies in support of the purchases for Data Center operations products and services globally. Identify, negotiate & deliver Total Cost of Ownership improvement opportunities across all supported categories while mitigating risk for the business, stakeholders, and customers.
Develop supporting metrics and strategies to drive reliability and cost improvements while providing strategic insights to the business and team
Partner with global and regional senior management and stakeholders to identify pain points, risks, and opportunities
Apply best practice to eliminate unnecessary duplication and complexity across multiple Products/ Solutions
Become the Category Subject Matter Expert. Develop and lead Global Category Sourcing Strategy using spend analytics to profile and segment suppliers and spend to prioritize Category effort & focus
Create & Develop Framework Contracts with Legal support for Global / Regional requirements in mission critical environments
Manage contract and pipeline data to support strategic purchasing and risk mitigation decisions
Responsible for Supplier Relationships. Create and maintain long-term partnerships with suppliers and manufacturers (Supplier Relationship Management), actively manage supplier performance, including continuous improvement in quality, service, and delivery, integrating innovations, obsolescence and reduction in total cost of ownership
Qualifications
Extensive experience in Facilities and Maintenance Services including, but not limited to, Security, UPS, Switchgear, Thermal, Fire Systems, Generators, and critical Data Center Infrastructure
Experience Leading and Managing Multiple Complex Global and Regional Mission Critical Contract RFx and Negotiations
Strong verbal and written communication skills with requisite interpersonal skills to partner, collaborate and build relationships and partnerships with business partners, suppliers and regional teams
Strong negotiation experience; ability to negotiate the best deal and influence upward
Experience with international sourcing and supplier management; preferably in area of responsibility
7+ years of related work experience in Data Centers / Mission Critical Environments
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Finance (Masters Preferred)
Ability to travel to Equinix headquarters, Company facilities, and Vendor Locations (up to 20%)
