Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Aerospace Engineer to join our engineering and R&D team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and improving aircraft, spacecraft, satellites, or aerospace systems. You will work on projects that push the boundaries of science and engineering, ensuring safety, performance, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities: Design & DevelopmentDesign aerospace components and systems, including airframes, propulsion systems, flight controls, and avionics.
Use CAD, simulation, and modeling tools to develop prototypes and validate design concepts.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate systems into aerospace platforms.
Perform structural, thermal, and aerodynamic analyses using tools such as ANSYS, MATLAB, or SolidWorks.
Develop and conduct ground and flight tests, analyze results, and iterate designs based on performance data.
Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards (FAA, EASA, MIL-STD, NASA).
Support the full product development lifecyclefrom concept and prototyping to production and certification.
Document designs, test procedures, and results; prepare technical reports and presentations.
Liaise with manufacturing teams, suppliers, and quality assurance to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
Stay up to date with new aerospace technologies, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
Contribute to research projects aimed at improving fuel efficiency, reducing emissions, and enhancing safety and reliability.
Bachelors degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
25+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, aerospace systems development, or a similar domain.
Strong understanding of aerodynamics, propulsion, flight mechanics, structures, and materials science.
Proficiency in CAD and simulation tools (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, ANSYS, CFD software).
Familiarity with aerospace industry regulations and certification standards (e.g., DO-178C, AS9100, FAR/Part 25).
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Masters degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience with space systems, UAVs/drones, or defense/aerospace contractors.
Hands-on experience with wind tunnel testing, avionics integration, or embedded systems.
Knowledge of programming (Python, C++) or control systems modeling (MATLAB/Simulink).
Security clearance or eligibility to work on defense projects (if applicable).

The Quality Engineer will evaluate and/or appraise supplier's manufacturing capabilities to baseline their processes for conformance to various documented commodity checklists, and/or QMS special processes. Establishes part quality evaluation plans from materials requests through material receipt (full life-cycle). Provides resolution and disposition of non-conformance materials to ensure adequate corrective action.
US Citizenship is required and must live within 50 miles of Delta, BC
- The Quality Engineer is highly supplier-focused, requiring excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) to manage supplier quality assurance responsibilities and ensure compliance across and at all levels of the organization on major programs from design through production stages.
- Evaluation of manufacturing functions and processes to ensure Quality Standards are in place
- Evaluation of inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
- Participate in QMS Audits for process deficiency and correction.
- Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
- Interact in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
- Involved in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
- Will have 'hands-on' knowledge and experience of mechanical (Machine Shop) components, assembly, subsystem and system level concepts.
- Strong emphasis on RCCA and CAPA experience.
- Understanding of FMEA and Process Improvements and Standardization of Processes
Required Skills:
- Minimum 3-5 years with LEAN Manufacturing Application experience.
- 3-5 years' experience in areas of Quality Engineering such as: FMEA, SPC, RCCA, Process Control, Product Evaluation and Auditing
- 2-3 years' working knowledge and experience with ISO9100 and AS9100 QMS Processes, especially in Production and Quality Engineering
- 2-3 years' working knowledge and experience with Aircraft Parts and Material Conformity Inspections
- 3-5 years FAI experience with AS9102 (FAI) Protocol
- 3-5 years' knowledge and experience with inspection methods, techniques and protocols.
- 3-5 years' experience in understanding and the application of Engineering Mechanical Processes, Standard Drawings Conventions, Interpreting Drawing Specifications (ANSI 14.5) and GD&T
- 3-5 years' experience in understanding and the application of Electronic Assembly Process and Inspection, Standard Conventions (IPC-610, J-Std-1000), Interpreting Schematic Diagrams and Specifications
- Airframe experience required
- AVMS electronic experience required
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Reliable transportation must have current/active drivers' license
- Valid drivers license and auto insurance required

Required Education (including certifications):
- In lieu of a Degree, 6+ years of hands-on experience as a Quality Engineering in an Aerospace Manufacturing Environment

WORKING CONDITIONS
Productivity : Incumbents must perform work in an efficient, effective, and timely manner with minimal direction.
Mobility: Incumbents are required to participate in assigned physical activities which may include light lifting and sitting for prolonged periods of time.
Vision : Vision sufficient to read printed documents, computer screens, and observe behavior of others.
Environment: Typical office conditions, directly working Quality management team, working with the SMS team, and external customers.
Other Factors: Typical hours worked are Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Incumbents may be required to work occasional extended hours and weekend overtime.
The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk (approximately 1-2 miles a day); sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee will occasionally drive long distances to and from various suppliers as needed. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Your Role:
As an Electrical E ngineer within our EASA Part 21 Subpart J Design Organization (DOA) , you will be responsible for the design, development, and certification of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) such as Electronic Control Board Assemblies (ECBA) and other Airborne Electronic Hardware (Hardware /ECBA) for our Electric Propulsion System (EPS) .
Working within the Electrical team , you will ensure all design activities follow DO-254 , CS-23 , ARP4754A , and related standards, supporting all Means of Compliance (MoC) and regulatory deliverables in cooperation with our internal Certification, Safety, and Systems Engineering teams.
Your Responsibilities
1. Requirements and Certification Planning
- Define Requirements as per DO-254 and ARP4754A .
- Create and maintain the Plan for Hardware Aspects of Certification (PHAC), Configuration Management, Analysis & Simulation report, Safety analysis
- Ensure alignment of activities with Development Assurance Levels
- Execute the full lifecycle: Requirements Capture, Conceptual Design, Detailed Design, Implementation, Verification, Validation, and Process Assurance
- Utilize Altium Designer while producing Drawing (DWG) or Schematics (SCH) if required
- Ensure traceability using CodeBeamer (or equivalent, e.g., DOORS).
- Manage interface while producing Interface Control Document (ICD )
- Perform Peer Reviews , Design Reviews , and Power/Signal Integrity Analysis .
- Ensure compliance with EASA CS-23 , DO-254 , and DO-160G .
- Contribute to the generation of Hardware Accomplishment Summaries (HAS) and support CVE in defining Means of Compliance .
- Coordinate and support EMI/EMC , ESD , Lightning Induced Transients and Power Input qualification testing.
- Support Verification & Qualification Test Procedure
- Collaborate with Systems Engineers (SYS), Software Engineers (DO-178C), Safety Analysts (FTA/FMEA/SSA), and Certification Engineers.
- Support consistency with ARP4761 safety assessments and proper DAL assignment.
- Support integration of hardware items into the broader Electric Propulsion System architecture.
- Maintain the Hardware Configuration Index (CIDX)
- Participate in Change Control Boards (CCBs) and manage Problem Reports (PRs).
- Ensure alignment with internal DOA processes and quality assurance standards.
Your Profile
- Education:
Bachelor's or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Avionics, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent. - Experience:
5+ years in AEH/ECBA development under DO-254 within a certified EASA 21J Design Organization or equivalent.
Proven experience in EASA certification or TCCA/FAA environments. - Tools & Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Altium , Mentor Graphics , or equivalent ECAD tools
- Requirements management with CodeBeamer , Polarion , or DOORS
- Familiarity with DO-160G , ARP4754A , ARP4761 , and AMC 20-152A
- Preferred:
- Exposure to DO-178C , TSO/ETSO , or software/hardware interface integration
- Understanding of Part 21G manufacturing and conformity inspection processes
- Soft Skills:
- Organized, communicative, team-oriented
- Strong decision-making and trade-off analysis skills
- Fluent in English (oral/written), French is an asset
