Salary:

We are looking for a Build/Release/DevOps Engineer with a strong foundation in tooling, automation, and collaborative DevOps practices. You will be responsible for administering and optimizing our Azure DevOps and GitHub environments, enhancing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring seamless integrations with tools like SonarQube and Nexus IQ. Strong people skills and the ability to work cross-functionally are key to thriving in this role.

This is a contractual hybrid role for a period of 6 months, with the potential for extension. The candidate must work from the Toronto office 3 days/ week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and manage Azure DevOps Organization and Project-level settings, including user access, permissions, and policies.
• Design, create, maintain, and troubleshoot Azure DevOps Pipelines (classic and YAML-based).
• Integrate and administer SonarQube for continuous code quality checks.
• Configure and maintain Nexus IQ for software composition analysis and security policy enforcement.
• Administer and optimize GitHub Organization and Project settings, including team and repo management.
• Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot GitHub Actions CI/CD workflows.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline DevOps operations and infrastructure workflows.
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to support secure, scalable, and reliable build/release pipelines.
• Document processes and mentor team members on tooling best practices.
• Participate actively in agile planning and work tracking through tools such as Jira.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven expertise in Azure DevOps Organization and Project Administration.
• Deep knowledge of Azure DevOps Pipelines (creation, maintenance, troubleshooting).
• Hands-on experience with SonarQube and Nexus IQ (setup, integration, administration).
• Solid experience managing GitHub Orgs and Projects, including access control, repo management, and configuration.
• Advanced knowledge of GitHub Actions for building CI/CD workflows.
• Strong scripting abilities (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar).
• Experience in CI/CD pipeline architecture, monitoring, and optimization.
• Demonstrated collaboration and communication skills; comfortable working cross-functionally and mentoring peers.

Are you a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer with strong expertise in Azure Cloud technologies, SQL, and SSIS? As our next Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data architecture on both on-premises (SSIS) and Azure platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage your technical proficiency, and contribute to the successful implementation of data solutions.

What will you be doing?

• Design and implement scalable, reliable, and high-performance data architectures on the Azure Cloud platform.
• Collaborate with data architects and other stakeholders to define data requirements and architecture standards.
• Develop end-to-end data pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable data movement across various stages, from ingestion to consumption.
• Leverage SSIS for on-premises ETL development and integration with Azure-based solutions.
• Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting purposes.
• Utilize Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other relevant services to orchestrate and optimize data workflows.

What experience do you have?

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience (4+ years) as a Data Engineer, with a strong focus on Azure Cloud technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Storage.
• 4+ years of experience working with large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, with extensive experience writing complex queries and optimizing database performance.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and implementing Enterprise Data Warehousing, ETL, and real-time/batch data exchanges using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Synapse Spark, and Databricks.
• Strong knowledge of RDBMS, Data Lake concepts, and data warehousing architecture.
• Familiarity with data security, compliance, and governance best practices.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and architectures using Microsoft Azure tools. This role plays a critical part in enabling data-driven decision-making across banking, financial services, and insurance operations, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations. ___ Key Responsibilities: 1. Design and implement scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Databricks. 2. Build and maintain data lakes and data warehouses to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives. 3. Integrate data from diverse BFSI sources including core banking systems, insurance platforms, CRM, and third-party APIs. 4. Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all stages of the data lifecycle, adhering to BFSI compliance standards (e.g., OSFI, PCI-DSS). 5. Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes for structured and unstructured data using Azure-native tools. 6. Collaborate with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and Business Teams to understand data requirements and deliver reliable solutions. 7. Implement monitoring and logging mechanisms to ensure performance, reliability, and traceability of data workflows. 8.
