Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager - The Banquets Server , plays a vital role in ensuring seamless banquet operations and providing an exceptional dining experience for guests. This position involves setting up and breaking down event spaces, serving food and beverages, and maintaining high service standards throughout events. Working closely with the banquet team, you will help create a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring every event runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize the Banquet Event Order (BEO) to prepare banquet spaces by setting tables, arranging chairs, and ensuring all necessary supplies are in place.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests promptly and professionally, maintaining high service standard and presentation.
  • Adhere to ProServe standards and all local alcohol service regulations, verifying identification and monitoring guest behavior for responsible service.
  • Accurately track beverage orders and inventory using a tick sheet during events.
  • Engage with guests in a friendly and courteous manner, addressing inquiries and fulfilling requests to enhance their experience.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and ensure uniforms are clean and well-maintained.
  • Assist in cleaning back-of-house areas, including washing stations, storage areas, and employee spaces, to ensure a hygienic and organized workspace.
  • Keep service areas, including bars and dining spaces, clean and organized throughout the event.
  • Work closely with the banquet team, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth event execution.
  • Assist in breaking down event setups, cleaning up, and restocking supplies after events.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including responsible alcohol service and food handling practices.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels for food and beverage supplies, reporting shortages to management.

Requirements

  • Eligible to work in Canada.
  • ProServe certification required (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally, 30lbs frequently, and 20lbs constantly.
  • Previous experience in banquets, catering, or hospitality preferred.
  • Strong customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Duration: This is a Full-Time seasonal position, June to October. Overtime during busy periods may be required.
