As an ILI (In-Line Inspection) Data Team Lead, you will manage a team of Data Analysts to produce accurate inspection reports critical to the safe operation of oil and gas pipelines.

Our Team

Our Data Analysts utilize 3D data visualization software and human-in-the-loop machine learning processes to meticulously analyze ultrasound datasets. The outputs of these analyses result in critical insights that enable our clients to make data-informed decisions on the operations and maintenance of multi-million-dollar infrastructure assets.

What You Will Do

  • Learn the delivery standards and workflow processes for your assigned ILI product line
  • Regularly check in with team members to assess capacity and remove roadblocks or inefficiencies
  • Through frequent 1:1 meetings, track team members' progression in their role, deliver constructive feedback, and ensure they receive proper recognition for their work while building a roadmap for their career development
  • Facilitate communication between your team and other teams and upper management
  • Ensure employees are aligned with the company vision, and that the goals and direction of the team help drive achievement of the vision
  • Facilitate the improvement of workflow procedures and best practices; seek out new solutions, seek feedback, and investigate and implement improvement opportunities
  • Review projects assigned to Analysts on your team; you are responsible for the content and delivery of projects
  • Partner with Recruiting and other Team Leads to recruit and evaluate candidates; a high volume of growth and hiring is expected
  • Make informed recommendations for hiring, raises/promotions, performance management, and further training
  • Develop new and improve existing processes and standards
  • Set project deadlines, assign project leads, and manage follow-up requests
  • Forecast team capacity vs. projected projects, offering transparency to stakeholders

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • At least 2 years of engineering or science study at university, college, or technical school
  • Experience managing a team producing client deliverables (e.g. reports, analysis)
  • Experience managing early to mid-career individuals
  • Experience leading process improvement initiatives

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry (e.g. ILI, pipeline or piping integrity, NDE/NDT, well integrity, well logging) or industrial asset inspection services
  • Experience managing teams with at least 5 team members
  • Experience in rapidly scaling an operation or team
  • Able to disseminate complex information and generate pragmatic solutions
  • Able to assess and adjust work processes to meet scaling requirements; delegate and prioritize work effectively among the team

For this role, we anticipate paying $85,000 - $110,000 CAD per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.

WCS Canada is affiliated with global WCS programs in more than 60 countries, and we are active at the science-policy interface in Canada and internationally. This RFP is issued by WCS Canadas Ontario Northern Boreal program, active since 2004 in the far north. As one of the few organizations with a continuous scientific presence in the region, we lead field-based research on large mammals, freshwater fish, and peatlands; co-develop programs with First Nations; collaborate with academic, government, and Indigenous researchers; and contribute to policy development to guide conservation decisions. 2.0 Contracting opportunity WCS Canada producing a report summarizing multiple years of freshwater ecological data that has been collected on the water quality, water chemistry, fish contaminants, and benthic invertebrates in northern boreal rivers in Ontario. We are seeking proposals (RFP) from qualified individuals or groups to support the completion of this report. We are requesting that individuals or groups submit a proposal outlining their qualifications, relevant experience, and proposed approach to conducting a literature review and statistical analyses of previously collected data. This work will inform and support the creation of a comprehensive and useful summary report by WCS Canada that outlines the status and trends in these northern boreal rivers. 3.0 Proposal Administration All requests for clarification and questions concerning this RFP must be submitted in writing no later than 5 September 2025 via email to Brianna Kim, Finance and Administrative Manager (indicate Freshwater Literature Review and Data Analysis on the subject line). Responses, if determined appropriate by WCS Canada, will be issued in writing to all known proposers. This evaluation may include a request to interview proposers and for proposers to virtually present their proposals for purposes of clarification.The proposal offering the most advantageous terms based on the criteria below will be selected for the award. WCS Canada may reject any and all proposals if, in its sole opinion, no proposal satisfies its criteria.   • Business analyst experience with enterprise-level software.

What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Learning Systems, the Director, Business Intelligence & Analytics is the "go-to expert" for efforts that will inform and lead data-driven metrics, analysis, visualizations, and storytelling. As a partner to business development operations and marketing teams, this role is responsible for aligning and transforming data into clear actionable visual insights to support business decisions necessary to lead short- and long-term objectives, strategies, tactics, and business outcomes.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Champion Data-Driven Decision-Making

  • Promote the strategic use of data as a key business enabler, identifying and unlocking opportunities to optimize revenue growth, market entry, pricing, and profitability across the organization.

Inform Organizational and Divisional Strategic Direction with Data Insights

  • Deliver digestible, high-impact insights to C-level executives and senior leaders across Business Development, Marketing, Academic Office and Operations.
  • Provide analytics that support evaluation of new and existing products, revenue initiatives, customer segments and acquisition opportunities.
  • Build and maintain pricing elasticity models and price optimization algorithms using advanced statistical techniques.
  • Design promotion optimization models (e.g., uplift/response) to enhance targeted marketing and segment offers.
  • Lead experimentation strategies (A/B testing, geo lift studies) to measure the causal impact of pricing and promotional initiatives.
  • Lead the development and implementation of KPIs, dashboards, and reporting tools that provide actionable insights and performance visibility to drive sales growth, strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Build self-service analytics capabilities for internal stakeholders to monitor performance and identify areas for growth to ensure analytics projects meet business needs

Advance Customer and Loyalty Insights

  • Design, deliver, and analyze dashboards and surveys for internal business partners to assess health and impact of business, marketing and promotion efforts.
  • Provide analytics to support the effectiveness and evolution of revenue and customer acquisition and recognition initiatives.
  • Creating dashboards and reports for various stakeholders.
  • Conducting in-depth analyses of sales data to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Providing actionable recommendations based on data insights.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally

  • Work with business development, marketing, product, and data engineering teams to integrate analytical models into business workflows and decision systems.
  • Partner with business operations and marketing teams to improve data collection, analysis frameworks, and traffic generation strategies aligned with revenue growth.

Enable Scalable Data Solutions

  • Build robust, scalable data solutions that improve access to analytics and support growth-focused decision-making.
  • Improve existing processes and implement new systems to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data analysis.
  • In collaboration with leadership, assess growth opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations to position the organization for sustainable success.
  • Identify and mitigate risks through quantitative analysis and forecasting.

Act as Analytics SME

  • Advise internal teams on optimal methodologies, tools, and analytical approaches to address key business questions.
  • Stay current with industry trends and innovations to ensure best practices are applied.

Perform Other Duties as Required

  • Participate in management meetings and contribute strategic insights as needed.
Job Requirements What We're Looking For
  • 6 - 8 years of progressive experience with business intelligence, data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling and reporting/analytic tools and forecasting.
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Economics or Statistics, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Computer Science,
  • Demonstrated experience with qualitative data science/business intelligence with significant business impact.
  • Experience with BI reporting tools and forecasting.
  • Knowledge of reporting tools/dashboards (Tableau, Power BI, Google Analytics, Google Tag manager, Tibco, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge in with database and queries (i.e.: SQL, Python, R, etc.).
  • Strong technical background in analytics, applied data science, and reporting across areas such as marketing attribution, experimentation, optimization techniques, data engineering & architecture, statistics, financial modeling and behavioral analytics.
  • Extensive experience in measuring online and offline marketing and sales strategies using various methodologies such as incrementality, attribution and cross-channel interaction.
  • Strong understanding on how the data should be captured, stored and structured in a data warehousing environment.
  • Ability to collaborate, communicate and influence across various internal stakeholders.
  • Detail oriented and takes ownership of work, with the ability to lead and manage tight project deadlines.
  • A self-starter with a curious and learning mindset.
Salary Range
  • $120,000 - $140,000 per annum.
Additional Information
  • This role has two (2) direct reports: Data Engineer and Data Analyst.
  • Hybrid work arrangement, working on-site at least 3 days a week, inclusive of all staff Community Days.
  • Office environment with the occasional requirement to work outside of regular business hours.
  • Works with confidential data.
  • Extended periods of sitting and PC use.

What you’re responsible for:

The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Manager is responsible for leading the BI team in the design, development, implementation, and optimization of business intelligence solutions. This role focuses on utilizing data to provide strategic insights, support data-driven decision-making, and enhance business performance across the organization. In addition to traditional BI functions, the Senior BI Manager will lead initiatives involving artificial intelligence (AI) and data science to drive advanced analytics capabilities.

    • Leading and mentoring a team of BI developers, data analysts and data engineers, offering technical guidance and constructive feedback.
    • Developing and implementing a BI strategy aligned with organizational goals.
    • Developing and implementing advanced analytics capabilities, including predictive and prescriptive analytics, machine learning models, and AI-driven decision support systems.
    • Recommending process improvements to increase the efficiency and impact of BI and data science solutions.

Qualifications

To join our team:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • You have 7+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • You have hands-on experience with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning frameworks
  • You have a strong experience with BI tools and Microsoft Azure data services (e.g., Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse).
  • You have a proven track record of delivering end-to-end data science projects, including data exploration, feature engineering, model development, evaluation, and deployment.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
