**POSITION SUMMARY**
Under the direction of the Vice President of Planning, the VDC/BIM Manager will play a critical role in implementing and supporting Virtual Design and Construction and Building Information Modelling processes throughout both the Bid and Project Execution Phases. This position enhances project coordination, communication, risk mitigation, and overall efficiency through the effective application of digital modelling, visualization tools, and collaboration technologies.
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead a team that plans, coordinates, and implements VDC processes utilizing appropriate technology platforms through project life cycle.
- Develop, monitor, coordinate, and report on the Pre- Post contract BIM Execution Plan and VDC implementation strategy.
- Oversee a portfolio of projects and deployment of VDC personnel.
- Understand the owner BIM / Employers Information Requirements (EIR) and use a custom suite of software tools to prepare model-based deliverables.
- Work with Operations Management team to develop BIM specific scope of work.
- Have the freedom and creativity to develop project specific workflows that utilize BIM data for estimating, logistics, planning, scheduling (4D), coordination, field layout, and facilities Management.
- Collaborate on the development and maintenance of knowledge exchange databases related to tools, workflows and Urban One standards.
- Manage regional VDC resources and performance review evaluations.
- Collaborate with IT to equip staff with required hardware and software tools for projects.
- Assist and support the pre-construction team’s use of BIM/VDC for Request for Proposals (RFP), project pursuits, estimating and 4D planning.
- Uphold industry BIM standards.
**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Building Technology, or Construction Management
- 8 plus years of professional experience with focus on BIM Management, Modeling, and related technology.
- Experience in leadership roles at organization level.
- Resource tracking and forecasting, both personnel and hardware.
- Relevant experience in engineering and/or construction fields, including document production and M&E coordination. (experience in North America BIM standards an asset).
- Advanced experience in Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, Revizto, Reality Capture (Cupix & Openspace).
- Experience working with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and Bluebeam.
- Passionate about the construction industry and innovation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent organization, time management skills and attention to detail.
- BIM-related training or certifications considered an asset (Building Transformations, BuildingSMART).

What is the Opportunity?
Based in Toronto and reporting to the Senior Associate – Technologist Group Lead, the Regional BIM Manager will primarily be responsible for model and drawing production, resource management, and quality control. The opportunity for increased responsibilities in office and field roles also exists. You will be working collaboratively with the project team and client from initial model development to final construction document issuance.
What will you do?
The role involves primarily office work and includes the following general tasks:
- Structural BIM modelling and project coordination. Working in conjunction with the Project Principal, Project Engineer, client, and other members of the design team you will complete projects of varying size and complexity from start to finish.
- Serve as a client-facing lead in structural BIM modeling and project coordination.
- Management of asset information/parameters within models and development of asset information libraries, where required by clients.
- Maintain a high utilization of BIM staff for your region through effective delegation of tasks to intermediate and junior BIM staff.
- Oversee the work of junior technologists, providing guidance and mentorship while ensuring a high-quality deliverable to our clients.
- Participate in global weekly resource meetings to secure additional resources or additional tasks, depending on project demands, as required.
- Coordinate the varying responsibilities associated with managing and producing drawings for structural projects, including managing specific files and directories and inter-discipline coordination with outside parties.
- Review and coordination of project BIM Execution Plans, and participation in associated client meetings.
- Support in creation of standards and methods to further the strategic development of relevant BIM technologies.
Requirements
- 2-year diploma in engineering or architectural technology from accredited technical school.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in the transportation or bridge sectors.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Detailed knowledge of and ability to use both Revit and AutoCAD.
- Experience working with various geographic coordinate systems (GCS). Experience training and managing a BIM team.
- Working knowledge of and ability to use programs such as Bluebeam, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Interest in applying new technology to support project processes and efficiencies.
- Experience performing as a prime consultant and managing/coordinating the deliverables of sub-consultants.
- Hands on construction experience and/or work with existing facilities is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of Civil 3D or Microstation considered an asset.
- Knowledge and interest related to embodied carbon is considered an asset
- Experience working with the ISO 19650 standard considered an asset

DESCRIPTION :
Le gestionnaire BIM/VDC, sous la direction du directeur MEP, est responsable de limplantation des processus BIM sur les projets. Son rle consiste galement dvelopper et de mettre en uvre de nouveaux processus et normes pour maintenir l'organisation l'avant-garde de l'industrie en constante volution et de son utilisation de la technologie. Le responsable BIM/VDC supervise l'ducation et la formation BIM de l'organisation l'utilisation des modles BIM dans la prconstruction et la construction. Le gestionnaire BIM/VDC est galement responsable de superviser et de grer les coordonnateurs BIM au sein de son quipe.
RESPONSABILITS :
- Effectuer les tches de coordonnateur BIM de niveau 3 selon les besoins.
- Soutenir l'quipe VDC dans la formation continue.
- Reprsenter l'entreprise en tant qu'autorit technique dans les prsentations et les confrences, assiste les autres dpartements dans les communications externes et internes BIM/VDC.
- laborer et tenir jour la documentation BIM : PGB et PEB.
- Soutenir le dveloppement de carrire, le coaching et le mentorat de l'quipe BIM/VDC

DESCRIPTION:
The BIM/VDC Manager, under the direction of the MEP Director, is responsible for implementing BIM processes on projects. Their role also includes developing and implementing new processes and standards to keep the organization at the forefront of an ever-evolving industry and its use of technology. The BIM/VDC Manager oversees BIM education and training within the organization for the use of BIM models in preconstruction and construction. The BIM/VDC Manager is also responsible for supervising and managing BIM Coordinators within their team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform the tasks of a Level 3 BIM Coordinator as needed.
- Support the VDC team in ongoing training.
- Represent the company as a technical authority in presentations and conferences, assisting other departments in external and internal BIM/VDC communications.
- Develop and maintain BIM documentation: BMP (BIM Management Plan) and BEP (BIM Execution Plan).
- Support career development, coaching, and mentoring within the BIM/VDC team.
