What is the Opportunity?

Based in Toronto and reporting to the Senior Associate – Technologist Group Lead, the Regional BIM Manager will primarily be responsible for model and drawing production, resource management, and quality control. The opportunity for increased responsibilities in office and field roles also exists. You will be working collaboratively with the project team and client from initial model development to final construction document issuance.

What will you do?

The role involves primarily office work and includes the following general tasks:

• Structural BIM modelling and project coordination. Working in conjunction with the Project Principal, Project Engineer, client, and other members of the design team you will complete projects of varying size and complexity from start to finish.
• Serve as a client-facing lead in structural BIM modeling and project coordination.
• Management of asset information/parameters within models and development of asset information libraries, where required by clients.
• Maintain a high utilization of BIM staff for your region through effective delegation of tasks to intermediate and junior BIM staff.
• Oversee the work of junior technologists, providing guidance and mentorship while ensuring a high-quality deliverable to our clients.
• Participate in global weekly resource meetings to secure additional resources or additional tasks, depending on project demands, as required.
• Coordinate the varying responsibilities associated with managing and producing drawings for structural projects, including managing specific files and directories and inter-discipline coordination with outside parties.
• Review and coordination of project BIM Execution Plans, and participation in associated client meetings.
• Support in creation of standards and methods to further the strategic development of relevant BIM technologies.

Requirements

• 2-year diploma in engineering or architectural technology from accredited technical school.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in the transportation or bridge sectors.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
• Detailed knowledge of and ability to use both Revit and AutoCAD.
• Experience working with various geographic coordinate systems (GCS). Experience training and managing a BIM team.
• Working knowledge of and ability to use programs such as Bluebeam, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Interest in applying new technology to support project processes and efficiencies.
• Experience performing as a prime consultant and managing/coordinating the deliverables of sub-consultants.
• Hands on construction experience and/or work with existing facilities is considered an asset.
• Working knowledge of Civil 3D or Microstation considered an asset.
• Knowledge and interest related to embodied carbon is considered an asset
• Experience working with the ISO 19650 standard considered an asset

DESCRIPTION :

Le gestionnaire BIM/VDC, sous la direction du directeur MEP, est responsable de limplantation des processus BIM sur les projets. Son rle consiste galement dvelopper et de mettre en uvre de nouveaux processus et normes pour maintenir l'organisation l'avant-garde de l'industrie en constante volution et de son utilisation de la technologie. Le responsable BIM/VDC supervise l'ducation et la formation BIM de l'organisation l'utilisation des modles BIM dans la prconstruction et la construction. Le gestionnaire BIM/VDC est galement responsable de superviser et de grer les coordonnateurs BIM au sein de son quipe.

RESPONSABILITS :

• Effectuer les tches de coordonnateur BIM de niveau 3 selon les besoins.
• Soutenir l'quipe VDC dans la formation continue.
• Reprsenter l'entreprise en tant qu'autorit technique dans les prsentations et les confrences, assiste les autres dpartements dans les communications externes et internes BIM/VDC.
• laborer et tenir jour la documentation BIM : PGB et PEB.
• Soutenir le dveloppement de carrire, le coaching et le mentorat de l'quipe BIM/VDC
• Travailler en troite collaboration avec les clients externes, lquipe de dveloppement, l'quipe de construction ou les quipes destimation de BCI pour tirer parti du BIM et atteindre les objectifs et les utilisations identifis projet par projet.
• valuation des besoins BIM de projet et adaptation des PGB et BEP en fonction des objectifs identifies.
• Soutenir et former les quipes de chantier et autres quipes BCI l'utilisation des outils VDC pour la visualisation de modles et d'autres utilisations.
• Coordonner et effectuer la recherche et le dveloppement associs aux logiciels ou plateformes BIM existants et nouveaux par le biais de projets pilotes.
• tablir des normes et des processus BIM
• Identifier les opportunits et recommander des solutions qui amlioreront les processus de BCI.
• Restez jour avec les derniers logiciels, plugins, techniques et mthodologies BIM.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Connaissance approfondie d'Autodesk Revit, avec un minimum de 5 ans d'exprience de l'utilisation de Revit sur des projets de conception/construction.
• Connaissance approfondie de Revizto/Autodesk Navisworks, avec une exprience dans l'excution de la dtection des conflits
• Bonne connaissance d'AutoCAD 2D/3D
• Connaissance approfondie des Environnements de Donnes Communs: Procore, ACC, BIM360
• Connaissance de l'interoprabilit entre Revit et d'autres programmes logiciels spcifiques des disciplines.
• Comprhension des technologies lies au BIM (ralit virtuelle, scan laser, etc.)
• Exprience antrieure dans un rle de coordination de projet.

We are seeking a BIM/VDC Manager to join our team!

DESCRIPTION:

The BIM/VDC Manager, under the direction of the MEP Director, is responsible for implementing BIM processes on projects. Their role also includes developing and implementing new processes and standards to keep the organization at the forefront of an ever-evolving industry and its use of technology. The BIM/VDC Manager oversees BIM education and training within the organization for the use of BIM models in preconstruction and construction. The BIM/VDC Manager is also responsible for supervising and managing BIM Coordinators within their team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform the tasks of a Level 3 BIM Coordinator as needed.
• Support the VDC team in ongoing training.
• Represent the company as a technical authority in presentations and conferences, assisting other departments in external and internal BIM/VDC communications.
• Develop and maintain BIM documentation: BMP (BIM Management Plan) and BEP (BIM Execution Plan).
• Support career development, coaching, and mentoring within the BIM/VDC team.
• Work closely with external clients, the development team, the construction team, or Broccolinis estimating teams to leverage BIM and achieve identified project-specific objectives and uses.
• Assess BIM requirements for projects and adapt BMP and BEP accordingly based on identified goals.
• Support and train site teams and other Broccolini teams in using VDC tools for model visualization and other applications.
• Coordinate and conduct research and development related to existing and new BIM software or platforms through pilot projects.
• Establish BIM standards and processes.
• Identify opportunities and recommend solutions to improve processes.
• Stay up to date with the latest BIM software, plugins, techniques, and methodologies.

SKILLS

• Extensive knowledge of Autodesk Revit, with a minimum of 5 years of experience using Revit on design/construction projects.
• In-depth knowledge of Revizto/Autodesk Navisworks, with experience in clash detection.
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD 2D/3D.
• Strong understanding of Common Data Environments: Procore, ACC, BIM360.
• Knowledge of interoperability between Revit and other discipline-specific software programs.
• Understanding of BIM-related technologies (virtual reality, laser scanning, etc.).
• Previous experience in a project coordination role.
• Excellent understanding of the various phases of a construction project.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills required for fast-paced projects.
• Ability to handle sensitive and sometimes confidential information.
