Under the supervision of the Planning Manager, the Production Planning Analyst is responsible for planning, analyzing and optimizing production processes to ensure availability of finished products based on demand forecasts, capacity constraints, and availability of electronic components. The incumbent works closely with planning, procurement, engineering, sales and production team members, in a complex and dynamic international environment.

Main accountabilities

• Develop and maintain short, medium and long-term production plans, considering global supply lead times and demand variability.
• Analyze production capacity and recommend adjustments to plans to avoid stock-outs or surpluses.
• Monitor inventory levels of critical components, anticipate needs, and suggest adjustments to optimize flows.
• Use data analysis tools (Excel, Power Query, etc.) to develop reports, dashboards, and forecasts.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of planning processes, identifying opportunities for automation and simplification.
• Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure on-time delivery of electronic components.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders in a multilingual and multicultural context.

Abilities required

• University degree in operations management, industrial engineering, logistics or related field or equivalent experience.
• Bilingualism (French and English), spoken and written, required.
• Advanced mastery of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, etc.).
• Practical experience with Power Query and data analysis tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and priority management skills.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite or equivalent).
• Experience in a technology or electronics manufacturing environment - an asset.

• Planification et Séquencement des Matériaux :
  • Assurer le séquencement adéquat des matières premières pour une ligne de fabrication spécifique afin de respecter les objectifs de production et les délais de livraison.
• Coordination de la Production :
  • Aligner les plans du centre de fabrication avec les horaires de plusieurs centres de production et clients.
• Gestion des Problèmes :
  • Analyser et répondre aux changements de conception ou aux problèmes de qualité pouvant affecter le séquencement de production. Ajuster les plans pour minimiser les perturbations.
• Opérations Quotidiennes :
  • Utiliser des outils tels qu’Excel et SAP pour gérer et mettre à jour les horaires de production.
  • Prioriser les lancements de pièces et les inspections.
  • Maintenir des dates de promesse précises et s’assurer que les lignes de production sont à jour.
• Collaboration et Communication :
  • Participer aux réunions quotidiennes de production avec les chefs d’équipe et les superviseurs.
  • Maintenir un haut niveau de communication par appels et courriels pour coordonner avec les parties prenantes internes.

Qualifications :

• Formation en génie industriel, opérations, logistique ou administration des affaires.
• Diplôme universitaire ou technique dans un domaine pertinent.
• Excellentes compétences en communication requises.
• 0 à 2 ans d’expérience avec un stage, ou 2 à 5 ans d’expérience en opérations, planification ou logistique.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Production Planner – Supply Chain Analyst to join our manufacturing team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient sequencing and flow of raw materials for the fabrication of high-precision rotating parts such as turbines, blades, rotors, and diffusers. The successful candidate will play a key role in aligning production schedules with the demands of various internal stakeholders and aftermarket customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Material Sequencing & Planning:
  • Ensure raw materials are properly sequenced for a specific manufacturing line to meet production targets and delivery schedules.
• Production Coordination:
  • Align fabrication center plans with the schedules of multiple production and customer centers.
• Issue Management:
  • Analyze and respond to design changes or quality issues that may impact production sequencing. Adjust plans to minimize disruptions.
• Daily Operations:
  • Use tools such as Excel and SAP to manage and update production schedules.
  • Prioritize part releases and inspections.
  • Maintain accurate promise dates and ensure production lines are up to date.
• Collaboration & Communication:
  • Participate in daily production meetings with team leads and supervisors.
  • Maintain high levels of communication via calls and emails to coordinate with internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Experience in Industrial Engineering, Operations, Logistics, or Business Administration.
• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in a relevant field.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• 0–2 years of experience with internship experience, or 2–5 years of experience in operations, planning, or logistics.

Our expectations:
Reporting to the Distribution Center Production Planning Manager and working in partnership with various other departments within the Store Support Center, the Production Planning Analyst within the dynamic distribution center network is responsible for creating the long-term plan for the distribution center. The selected individual will be responsible for managing and optimizing production processes to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction. You will play a key role in planning production activities to achieve performance and efficiency objectives while considering available production capacities.

The scope of this role includes all distribution centers across Canada and the expanding network of direct delivery centers. This role will support distribution center operations, the demand management and replenishment department, as well as the finance team as a center of excellence for inventory management and will act as a key collaborator with distribution center general managers and finance. The candidate must understand risks related to building capacity and recommend a workforce plan to meet projected volumes. They will also be responsible for developing short-term guidance that enables the application of standards set by our key performance indicators (KPIs).

The role:
Production Planning
Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts, production capacities, and inventory levels.

Coordinate production activities with other departments (procurement, operations, and transportation) to ensure a smooth workflow.

Create short-term inbound ad outbound projections and reports using historical and supply chain data.

Forecast labor and building utilization by analyzing historical data and sales forecasts.

Resource and Production Capacity Management
Analyze and adjust required resources (labor, equipment, raw materials) to meet production needs while respecting the available production capacities of distribution centers.

Regularly evaluate production capacities to ensure they are adequate for production goals and propose adjustments as needed.

Collaborate with the Operations team to efficiently maximize building capacity by providing inbound and outbound forecasts and analyzing inventory levels and/or needs.

Monitoring and Analysis
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production rates, total order production time, and production delays/bottlenecks.

Identify potential production capacity issues and propose solutions to improve processes and reduce performance gaps.

Using supply chain reports, establish workforce plans by period and quarter.

Create ad hoc reports.

Communication and Coordination
Collaborate with the Operations team to forecast hiring needs.

Work with production teams, stock managers, and suppliers to ensure effective communication and smooth coordination of operations.

Prepare regular reports on production status and inventory levels for management.

Analyze forecast accuracy to provide feedback on errors and inaccuracies.

Produce weekly, regional, and consolidated operational metrics.

Continuous Improvement
Identify process improvement opportunities and implement initiatives to increase efficiency and quality while optimizing production capacity utilization.

Participate in continuous improvement projects and internal audits.

Collaborate with continuous improvement leaders by providing and analyzing data to support the integration of improvement opportunities.

The qualifications we are looking for: 2 to 4 years of prior experience in production planning or a similar role within a distribution center environment is preferred, or experience as a supply chain analyst.

Bachelor’s degree in production management, logistics, industrial engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) is a strong asset.

Experience with SQL server is a plus.

Advanced knowledge of software applications, including Excel and Access.

Experience in inventory management in a distribution environment is an asset.

Analytical mindset and troubleshooting skills for creatively identifying and solving complex problems.

Understanding of Production Capacities: Ability to assess production capacities and adjust plans based on constraints and opportunities related to those capacities.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.

Strong customer service orientation (stores).

Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

The Inventory Controller is located on site and typically reports directly to the Facility Manager.

Inventory Controllers plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate inventory for facility needs.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Maintaining and updating required inventory levels for goods, products, and Materials
• Manage and maintain customers Inventory Control Program (WASP)
• Conducting quality checks on stored inventory to comply with company standards
• Processing and documenting returned items
• Implementing inventory management procedures and processing invoices
• Performing clerical functions such as answering calls, entering data into computers, and helping customers
• Monitoring inventory losses and implementing loss-prevention programs
