In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the future of our Protein & Energy Bar business, working on Canada's top brands such as Clif! As a part of this role, you will have chance to lead the team on a broad scope of projects to build your marketing and leadership skills:
+ **Brand Strategies** : Develop long term vision and strategies to grow the Clif Bar portfolio anchored in consumer needs by collaborating with key cross functional partners.
+ **Execution with excellence:** lead our cross-functional team to deliver end to end execution excellence from commercialisation all the way to customer presentation and in-market execution.
+ **Bring insights and analysis into action:** become the champion of consumer needs! Proactively monitor brand performance along with key competitors across the market to identify growth opportunities, and work with partners to provide recommendations.
+ **Business acumen** : lead the team to profitable growth by leveraging all levers of the P&L
+ **Portfolio strategy:** facilitate brand strategy development locally and globally to guide the future of Clif in Canada
+ **Brand building and In-store activation:** build brand equity of our Clif portfolio in Canada by developing remarkable creative & media working with our agency partners.
+ **Cross-functional leadership** . Cultivate a growth mindset and strong working relationships with both internal (Sales, R&D, Supply, Revenue Growth Management, Insights & Analytics, Sales planning, E-commerce) and external partners (agencies, packaging designs).
+ **Innovation and Renovation** : build long term pipeline of consumer first and customer centric innovation (format, flavors, beyond the core) & renovation. Proactively lead the team to drive both short- and long-term development.

Job Description

The team is looking for a talented and experienced individual to lead the marketing and commercial activities of our gastroenterology portfolio. Through innovative tactics and a team-oriented approach, the Brand Manager will play a pivotal role in marketing new treatment options. This position is based in Montreal (Saint-Laurent) and reports to the Marketing Manager - Gastroenterology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and successfully implement the commercial marketing plan.
  • Lead the implementation of tactics aligned to strategies identified in the brand plan.
  • Manage and track the Advertising and Promotion (A&P) budget.
  • Communicate strategic goals, positioning, messaging and tactical plans to internal customers, field sales force and external agencies.
  • Analyze market issues and opportunities and communicate findings to brand team and to senior management.
  • Plan and develop sales promotional materials and coordinating field team meetings.
  • Support the team for the planning and coordination of the national sales meeting and cycle meetings.
  • Ensure successful collaboration between agency of record and AbbVie internal partners (Advertising, AbbVie Care, Patient relations).
  • Work collaboratively with external vendors.
  • Collaborate with Global, Area & Affiliate colleagues to optimize total portfolio performance now and in the future.
Qualifications

Education/Experience required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Science or related field is required.
  • Relevant marketing experience with a proven track record within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry:
    • Marketing experience within a relevant therapeutic area is a strength (minimum two years).
    • Immunology and/or Gastroenterology experience preferred
  • Experience with digital/virtual programs deployment is an asset.
  • Ability to think and plan strategically (work plans, activities, timelines, targeting) and operating with execution excellence.

Essential skills and abilities:

  • Advanced French and English language proficiency (oral and written).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Must be at ease with technology (the use of various tools/systems to perform day-to-day tasks).
  • Travel required about 25% of the time.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.

Job Description

As a Senior Brand Manager (12 Month Contract), you will be responsible for the stewardship of key brands within our Crackers and Frozen portfolio like Cheez-It and Eggo Waffles. Your fresh perspective will help you identify consumer white spaces and implement programs to maximize those opportunities. You'll lead strategy creation, brand planning and marketing communications as well as support innovation, commercial strategy and research. This is a hybrid role based out of our Mississauga office.
A Taste of What You'll Be Doing
+ Business Management - Manage the day-to-day business processes for the brands to ensure effective and efficient business management (e.g. budget management, forecasting etc) to deliver budget commitments. Lead the cross-functional commercial team to ensure strategies are aligned and executed across marketing, sales, shopper, and innovation.
+ Agency Partnership - Translate business strategies into compelling briefs grounded in consumer insights. Using your partnership skills, you'll work with agency teams to develop, execute and track marketing communications plans.
+ Innovation Commercialization - Work closely with the Innovation Team to identify strategic opportunities for brands. Develop and execute trade and communication plans for innovation.
+ Managing Winning Projects - Lead cross-functional projects that improve the business in both short and long term such as packaging changes, format adjustments, and innovations. Your people skills will help you cultivate strong working relationships with both internal (sales, research and development, operations) and external (agency, research house, packaging designs and suppliers) support groups.
We're Looking for Someone With
+ Post Secondary degree or diploma with a focus on business and marketing or equivalent work experience
+ Brand marketing experience in a consumer-packaged goods company
+ Proven track record of success and be able to demonstrate ability to initiate, develop and deliver plans and programs to successful outcome
+ Experience in strategy development and managing creative agencies
+ Excellent communication and persuasion skills, combined with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
+ Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills
+ Experience with AC Nielsen

You will work with others to execute the brand strategy for designated brands, develop product and packaging initiatives, implement pricing strategies, and plan and execute integrated marketing communication and media plans. You will also provide recommendations for integrated commercial plans and provide input and support in the development and execution of marketing plans to ensure they meet revenue, profit targets, sharing objectives and monitoring performance. Based on your strong understanding of consumer insights, brand strategy and positioning, you ill help develop integrated marketing communications and 360 degree campaigns.

**More about this role**
**What you need to know about this position:** In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the future of our Confectionery business, working on Canada's favorite brands such as Cadbury, Mini Eggs, Toblerone, Sour Patch Kids & Maynard's! As a part of this role, you will have the chance to work on a broad scope of projects to build your marketing skills including:
+ **Brand Equity and Strategy.** Develop and execute marketing and brand strategies in partnership with a team of cross functional partners. Present and share plans with the sales team to ensure commercial alignment and execution.
+ **Analysis and Insights into Action.** Proactively monitor brand performance along with key competitors across the market. Take key insights to provide recommendations on maximizing growth opportunities and actions to take.
+ **Brand building and In-store activation** : build brand equity in Canada by developing remarkable creative & media working with our agency partners and internal team of experts.
+ **Innovation and Renovation.** Build a pipeline of consumer first and customer centric innovation. Lead development of innovation and renovation alongside cross functional teams.
+ **Cross-functional Leadership.** Cultivate strong working relationships with both internal (sales, R&D, operations etc.) and external (agency, packaging designs/suppliers, etc.) partners.
+ **Budget Ownership.** Identify and manage the brand's budget spend to effectively execute plans; Own the overall budget and manage it with key partners.
