- Apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline engineering work
- Develop and review specifications, including design criteria
- Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
- Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of moderate or complex engineering problems. Should be able to demonstrate basic understanding of structural behavior and design principles.
- Review vendor equipment documentation within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
- Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines
- Indicate strong technical interests and background with structural engineering subjects such as design of large structural steel and concrete structures including heavy foundations, seismic engineering, and dynamic analysis of structures supporting vibrating equipment.
- Capable to undertake structural engineering work related to resource project development and construction, in one or more of the following areas:
- Performing hand and computer calculations for foundations, concrete, and steel structures
- Analyzing complex structures ,
- Wind and seismic loading in structural calculations (structural)
- Dynamic analysis and design (structural)
- Computer modeling and analysis (structural)
- Procurement and construction aspects of engineering
- Vendor drawing review, intergroup review - squad checking
- Engineering and fabricator drawing checking
- Managing and leading a small project
**Basic Job Requirements**
- Accredited two (2) year diploma or global equivalent in applicable field of study and sixteen (16) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty (20) years if no diploma; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
- Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial availability and cost of materials, means and methods of construction
- Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting
- EPCM Experience in Medium to Large-Scale Projects

Position Overview
The Store Design & Construction Manager will be tasked with managing the design work and project execution through all phases of UNIQLO’s new store development. This individual is responsible for end to end project management from giving timely input on feasibility of projects until handover to the store management team (including but not limited to store layout, budget, schedules, coordination/communication with landlord, real estate teams, etc.

- Understand Uniqlo store layout criteria, scope, and requirements.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and ensure landlord handover conditions meet Uniqlo's standards in collaboration with the real estate team.
- Answer requests from Legal Team when setting up new leases, to make sure construction criteria are properly established
- Select GC and architect for each project after evaluating proposals that include project plans, costs, and qualifications.
- Ensure and review general contractor’s detailed project plans and deliverables, including clear permitting processes and timelines
- Ensure design and construction documents from architects and meet all Uniqlo operation needs, after finalizing store layouts with management.
- Ensure timely delivery of all owner furnishing items for project completion, collaborating closely with relevant team leads.
- Promptly escalate timing and quality issues to prevent time and cost overruns.
- Lead site walkthroughs through the entire project lifecycle, from initial costing through final handover to the store team. Identify risks related to time and budget, resolve all on-site issues, and ensure seamless delivery.
- Ensure budget, timeline, quality, and safety are all delivered for each project.
- Work together with store design team and local architect to solve issues on site.
- Understand all local code requirements and make sure all vendors deliver accordingly.
- Execute final inspection working together with construction manager before handover to store operation team to ensure code requirement, UQ quality requirement and maintenance requirement is provided.
- Lead post-project analyses and discussions. Identify opportunities and strive for continual process improvement.
- Explain all variances to budget and timeline, as needed. Make sure to focus on root causes and resolving actions. Own the responsibility.
- Ensure timely approval and payment of all invoices, working with the Store Development Management Control team.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned.
Desired Skills and Experiences :
- Project management experience, ideally in both construction and design
- Minimum of 5 years in a similar position within Canada retail industry or PM in Architect firm, GC
- Prior training as a PM in the construction industry is required (Certification of architect or PM preferred)
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects at varying stages of complexity simultaneously
- Multicultural work experience and work background

**Job Description**
AECOM is seeking a **Design & Construction Circularity & Waste Specialist** to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga. We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world.
**Major Requirements:**
+ Coordinates construction-related sustainability objectives, including requirements for recycling, reuse, and waste disposal.
+ Supports the development and implementation of waste and circularity initiatives, encompassing terminal waste, outbuildings waste, construction waste, circular construction practices, and off-aircraft waste.
+ Ensures proper handling, recycling, disposal, and removal of all waste materials-particularly hazardous waste-at construction sites.
+ Verifies that project designs incorporate self-sustaining circular ecosystems, infrastructure needs, innovative waste and pollution management solutions, and strategies to minimize carbon footprint.
+ Collaborates with Stakeholder Relations and Communications (SR&C) and external stakeholders to align sustainability strategies across the project.
+ Ensures the overall program and design strategy addresses all applicable sustainability requirements, aligning with principles of sustainable development, and promoting occupant well-being and lifestyle.
+ Confirms that all relevant workstreams align with the organization's vision and strategic commitment to a sustainable, carbon-positive, and environmentally responsible future.
**Minimum Requirements:**
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:
University Degree in engineering, planning, or a sustainability-related discipline + 4 years of experience in the environmental, energy, or sustainable design sectors.
Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.
**Preferred Requirements:**
+ Relevant professional certifications (e.g., PE, CEM, LEED AP, ENV SP).
+ Proven track record in delivering sustainability outcomes within the infrastructure sector; experience with large, complex programs is a strong asset.
+ In-depth knowledge of best practices for reducing embodied carbon in building materials and achieving net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) facilities.
+ Demonstrated expertise in sustainable resource management, materials efficiency, and circular economy principles.
+ Strong technical proficiency across all project phases, with the ability to address complex challenges using data analytics to inform and support decision-making.

Based in downtown Canmore - complete with mountain views and just 20 minutes from the iconic **Banff National Park** , our team is responsible for a diverse range of work in the region, including but not limited to award winning and innovative Municipal, Civil Land Development and Transportation projects.
Working closely with designers, engineers and project managers, this position will give you the opportunity to apply CAD and Civil 3D knowledge on project work from conceptual design through to completion, with a focus on local projects as well as the chance to work with national teams on projects across Canada.
