POSITION OVERVIEW
The Business Applications Developer will play an important role in LandSolutions’ (LS) digital transformation journey. This role is responsible for supporting and enhancing enterprise applications, Microsoft Power Platform development, and driving process improvement through automation and AI. Key areas of focus include low code development using Microsoft PowerApps and Dataverse, data integration and transformation (ETL/ELT), automation and work augmentation with AI tools, and business process optimization initiatives across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain MS Power App applications connected to Dataverse in accordance with design standards and business requirements.
- Work as a resource for all data management, transformation, migrations (ETL), repositories, data standards, common language, and data hygiene for company applications.
- Work collaboratively with other business units to support their efforts in automation and process improvements.
- Ensure operational integrity of core application tools/technologies is maintained.
- Document workflows, configurations, and system changes; ensure knowledge sharing with IT and business stakeholders. Deliver stakeholder engagement through training, demos, and technical support.
- Work with various business units to develop solutions by understanding how they operate to determine objectives, identify problems with the current business process, designing potential solutions to any problems identified, overseeing and/or executing the implementation of approved process improvements and applications.
- Assist the company in business process design and management including automation of process with technology tools.
- Plays a key role in the exploration, creation, use, and deployment of AI and AI tools to optimize and automate operational tasks.
- Enhance reporting outputs and data visualization to provide clarity and insightful information that supports data driven decision making.
- Provide recommendations to the VP Technology Solutions on application improvements and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with IT, Project Managers, vendors and business units to ensure application development aligns with security and compliance standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 10 years’ practical experience.
- University degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years' experience in business systems analysis, business analysis, and systems & application support.
- 3+ years’ experience with Microsoft Power Platfrm (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse).
- 3+ years’ experience with MS SQL Server, SSRS/SSIS, and T-SQL
- 1+ years’ experience with Python and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and software implementation practices.
- Strong understanding of application integrations, data modeling, and database normalization.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Tech Stack (Power Platform, Dataverse, SQL Server).
- Proficiency in ETL/ELT processes and data quality standards.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office, Copilot, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Experience with relational databases, data warehouse/lake, and reporting solutions.
- Knowledge of GIS and land access/right-of-way systems is an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical details into business-friendly language.
