Position Summary:
This position is responsible for inventory control and receiving activities. These activities include inventory cycle counts, solving inventory discrepancies and assisting with/organizing physical inventories. Also ensures timely and accurate receipt of product, supporting distribution centre productivity, delivery reliability, and safety objectives
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Standard Receiving Practices
Work along with Inventory Control team to assist in maintaining productivity, delivery reliability, safety stock levels, receiving schedules, inbound freight maximization, promotion and inventory turns goals
Identify and address all defects received with respect to acceptable standards
Administer all shipments received into the facility
Maintaining standard receiving practices
Ensure all documentation is complete and signed appropriately protecting Martin-Brower from all potential liabilities
Inventory Management
Create purchase orders for centre-ordered products
Assist in communicating and slotting of all new items
Maintain on-hold log, responsible for product tagging and communication
Work in partnership with Warehouse, Inventory Control, Corporate Office to meet targets
Assist with invoicing and coordination of all Branch Transfer shipments
Assist with the preparation and organization of Physical Inventory
Process Audit
Assist with cycle count on all items as per Cycle Count Procedure u2013 identify issues, research and repair
Physically review all on-hold product to verify accuracy, identify and address issues to the Warehouse Manager and to Corporate Office
Special Projects
Occasional opportunities may come up from time to time which require the expertise of the Inventory Control area
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience:
Requires a post-secondary education in Supply Chain/Logistics or a related field, or equivalent experience
Ability to work well under pressure while working independently or as a team player
Analytical, detail oriented, highly accurate, conscientious, and dependable
Strong interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and organizational skills to oversee staff
Problem solving skills, ability to manage customer expectations
Demonstrates a positive attitude that sets an example for others
Maintain a sense of urgency, strong multi-tasking, and priority management
Highly proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook

About the Role
As Inventory Control Specialist, you will monitor and manage inventory accuracy across our Canadian stores and warehouse operations. You will play a key role in supporting stock availability, loss prevention, and process improvements through strong data analysis and collaboration with stores, e-commerce, and logistics teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Track and analyze inventory data from stores and warehouses to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities
Manage daily and weekly stock reporting using Excel and internal systems
Investigate variances in physical vs. system inventory and recommend corrective actions
Collaborate with store operations, logistics partners, and merchandising teams to resolve inventory issues
Support physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and audit processes
Assist in implementing process improvements and control measures to reduce stock loss and improve accuracy
Provide clear inventory guidelines and training materials to store and warehouse teams

Desired Skills and Experience:
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup, formulas, and data analysis)
3–5 years of experience in inventory control, supply chain, or store operations
experience with inventory management systems or ERP software is an asset
