General Manager – Canadian Tire Leaside
Intro:
A replacement Store for Canadian Tire Leaside in Toronto is currently under construction with an Occupancy date in 2026. The current store will remain open until the new store is open, requiring our current staff to stay on site of the old store. The new build is directly behind the old store (under 1 minute walk).
We are currently recruiting a General Manager who will also act as a project manager for the new build. Only top tier candidates with meaningful and relevant experience will be considered due to the importance of this new build. It is considered one of the most important builds and stores in the Country.
The location and the forecast of this build make this project extremely important and provide any internal/external candidate with an opportunity to showcase their skills to Dealer Selection and Training, if this is the long-term goal in mind.
External candidates must have extensive retail and capital project management experience.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will not only be our advocate for all tasks and timelines, all interior execution, coordination with Field Merchandising and Product flow, but will also manage a team they select to work on our deliverables for the project. As well as implementing systems and procedures for all operations in the new building and training the store staff.

Responsibilities:
- New build project management
- Hiring and coordination of store team for fixturing and merchandising
- Training and coordination of all operational processes
- Training all new store staff
- Developing systems and procedures and installing them in the store
- Coordination of all Health and Safety procedures and installation of these procedures in the store
- Adherence to strict timelines
- Managing wage and ops budget
- Other duties as required
Requirements/Skills:
- Extensive Senior Management experience in-store and project management experience
- Extensive experience in building teams, managing people, managing large projects and someone who has a successful track record.
- The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to build a team and creative a positive work environment.
- An instinct for retail, a mind for operational detail and execution are essential.

At Savers / Value Village our Retail Store Associates create an awesome experience for our Customers, Donors and other Team Members. We are hiring for both Full Time and Part Time Retail Store Associates.
