This position is responsible for contributing to the coordinated efforts of preparing and presenting a high-quality shopping experience to all Farm Boy customers. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all customers, employees and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.

Major Responsibilities: 

• Provide superior customer service and support Farm Boy’s vision of the best fresh shopping experience.
• Have a passion for food and knowledgeably handle all customer questions or comments confidently.
• Utilizing Farm Boy Service Standards, process all customer purchases, collect the accurate tenders and bag the purchased items. 
• May be required to handle or sell alcohol.
• Responsible for learning product codes and applying them in a timely and accurate manner when processing customer orders.
• Responsible for balancing all tenders received.
• Answer and direct incoming phone calls as necessary.
• Keep the work, storage and store front areas clean and safe at all times by performing general “housekeeping” as required, including cart retrieval from the parking area.
• Comply with all corporate policies, especially as they relate to Health and Safety, Food Safety and equipment use.
• May be requested to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.

• Superior customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• If at a location that sells alcohol, must be a minimum of 18 years of age to handle alcohol and have successfully completed Smart Serve or a willingness to complete as this location sells alcohol.
• Experience in a retail environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered an asset.
• Strong mathematical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work with little supervision with a high standard for quality and cleanliness.
•  Ability to work in a team environment with clear and effective communication style, both written and oral
• Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
• Fluency in English and French shall be considered an asset.

Work & Sensory Environment:

• Required to stand for long periods of time during shift.
• Regularly required to perform repetitive and/or precise hand/finger movements.
• Required to lift, carry or handle heavy objects.
• May be exposed to changes in temperature (when standing near exit doors) and to extreme temperatures (when collecting carts from the parking area).

About the Position

The Barista of Dark Horse's cafe will work closely with the Store Manager to maintain an incredible employee and customer experience. Candidates should possess a business sense, natural hospitality and soft-skills. The successful candidate will be excited at the chance to grow a coffee focused hospitality business and embrace the challenges that come along with it.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set the standard by delivering an outstanding experience for all customers and community members.
• Build a network of promoters in the business community.
• Support in-store merchandising to showcase our products and drive financial performance
• Follow all operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling & safety, security during each shift
• Accurately take food and beverage orders using the POS system.
• Ensure that our product recipes meets the highest quality standard.
• Support standing relationships with current supplier and developing new relationships
• Oversee business and employment regulations in compliance with Ontario's standards.
• Manage an optimized and efficient ordering processes
• Step in or delegate team members to cover shifts in case of staff absences or illness.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety and Food Handling Practices- ensuring they are upheld
• Keep the store in an excellent condition of cleanliness and merchandising

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 years in Food Retail Management
• Must have 1 year experience as Barista
• Smart Serve Certification is an asset
• Experience or knowledge in an Retail setup
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25-30 pounds
• Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions.
• Full Time availability.

Availability & Compensation:

• Expected number of hours: 40-44 hours per week
• Full time early morning shifts and weekend availability is required.
• Hourly wage of up to $18.50per hour depending on experience.

Summerhill Market is looking for a Cashier to join the Customer Service team at our Rosedale location.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Your number one priority, as a Cashier, is delivering an exceptional customer experience. You will do this by:

• Greeting customers in a positive manner when they are entering or leaving the store
• Listening to customers' needs to ensure questions and concerns are answered
• Maintaining an awareness of all product knowledge information, product promotions, sale prices, test products and advertisements
• Helping customers find product(s) they are looking for & recommending add-ons to help complete their shopping list
• Processing sales and wrapping, bagging, or boxing merchandise for customers efficiently and offering customer carry-outs

You are also responsible for:

• Operating the cash register, computers, payment processing equipment and scanners in the store, as well as itemize and total the purchases made by customers
• Completing all sales transactions and maintaining proper cash handling at POS registers with accuracy
• Rectifying price discrepancies
• Processing exchanges, refunds, and credits
• Maintaining cleanliness of your work area
• Assisting in floor moves, product display, maintenance, and store housekeeping
• Being a team player and helping your team members as needed
