Qualifications
Required
- University degree, College diploma, or post-secondary equivalent in volunteer administration or other relevant program.
- 5 years volunteer management experience, preferably in a unionized multi-site hospital environment.
- Certification in Volunteer Administration (CVRM, CVA)
- Experience in organizing events
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, staff development and team leadership skills.
- Effective problem-solving, decision-making and organizational skills.
- A strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to prioritize and manage time and resources
- Ability to interact effectively with a variety of people such as physicians, senior management, Board, and clinical/technical staff
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with young adults and seniors
- Ability to handle multiple demands/situations and work with frequent interruptions
- Commitment to continuous improvement
- Knowledge of VSYS Program an asset
- Available for regular assignment of Hospital Administrator on-call responsibilities (assigned on a rotating basis to cover evenings and weekends)

Role Summary:
The Volunteer Manager is a strategic leader responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive volunteer engagement program for the Toronto 2026 JCC Maccabi Games, with learning and structure that extends post-Games across the Prosserman JCC and Schwartz/Reisman Centre.
Reporting to the Games Director of the Toronto 2026 JCC Maccabi Games, the Volunteer Manager plays a critical role in ensuring a consistent, high-impact, and values-driven volunteer experience that supports a large-scale initiative like the JCC Maccabi Games and can be adapted to extend into day-to-day operations of the JCC.
This role works cross-departmentally within and beyond the JCC Maccabi Games organizing committee to embed volunteerism as a core element of the JCC's culture. The Volunteer Manager leads all aspects of volunteer lifecycle management--strategic planning, recruitment, training, supervision support, recognition, retention, and impact evaluation. In conjunction with the Director of Community Engagement, key responsibilities include:
- Develop and lead the Game's Volunteer Strategy & Processes
- Lead Volunteer Recruitment and Selection Process
- Conduct and/or oversee Onboarding, Training & Development
- Create systems for meaningful Volunteer Engagement & Retention
- Maintain accurate Data & Reporting
- Liaise with HR on Policy Development & Risk Management
- Oversee the volunteer program day-to-day, including Trouble Shooting & Issues Resolution
- Operationalize the volunteer program for post-Games and wider JCC
What do you bring?
- 5+ years of experience in volunteer management, program development, or community engagement, is a must.
- HR knowledge and experience is strongly preferred

I. Scope and Summary of Primary Responsibilities
The Mi’kmaw Community Outreach Coordinator plays a key role in building and maintaining culturally grounded relationships and partnerships between Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada (VLRC) and Mi’kmaw communities and organizations throughout Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
This position supports culturally safe engagement and service delivery by acting as a liaison to ensure that VLRC’s rehabilitation services and Eye Health Screening Initiative (EHSI) program are accessible, responsive to the needs of Mi’kmaw individuals and communities, and guided by Mi’kmaw culture and values.
II. Essential Functions
The position entails, but is not limited to the following general responsibilities:
•Establish and maintain strong, relationships and partnerships with Mi’kmaw communities, organizations.
•Attend community events, health fairs, and gatherings in Mi’kmaw communities to raise awareness about VLRC services and programs.
•Coordinate and facilitate presentations, information sessions, and workshops within Mi’kmaw communities.
•Collect and share community feedback to support continuous improvements of services.
•Maintain records of outreach activities, community visits, and engagement outcomes.
•Communicate effectively with internal teams to share insights, updates and discuss priorities.
•Assisting with the coordination and delivery of EHSI screening clinics in community settings. Responsibilities include:
- Scheduling clinics in collaboration with partners
- Support onsite logistics and screening
- Follow up with clients who receive positive screening results and coordinate referrals to ensure continuity of care between health systems

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the HUB/Outreach Manager, the Program Coordinator is responsible for managing the daily operations of The HUB is a community space in Maple Ridge. Its dedicated to providing basic needs for the underserved population in the area. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the services available in Maple Ridge and possess the flexibility to support their team in any capacity.
This position requires liaising with community partners, including the Ridge Church, overseeing a team of volunteers, staff members, community partners, and peer support workers. Strong organization is critical to maintain the services that are provided at the HUB. Key responsibilities include managing weekly invoicing, daily reporting to external stakeholders, organizing donation pickups, and ensuring smooth communication with all parties involved with the running of the HUB.
The ideal candidate will be meticulous and organized, with a genuine passion for working with underserved communities. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain healthy relationships are essential for success in this role.
