Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Capital Allocation
- Develop and oversee the financial strategy to support growth (organic and M&A).
- Optimize capital allocation across the portfolio.
- Partner with the CEO and board and provide advice on investment decisions, debt structures, return thresholds, and negotiate on company's behalf.
- Prioritize internal reinvestment, bolt-on acquisitions, and dividend policy.
- Identify and execute financing strategies to support growth and acquisitions, including non-dilutive funding options, seller financing, structured earn-outs, revenue-based financing, government grants, and strategic partnerships.
- Leverage deep knowledge of capital markets and alternative funding sources to reduce cost of capital and maintain balance sheet flexibility, while aligning with the company's return expectations.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead the forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning processes across multiple business units.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and unit economics at the company and portfolio level.
- Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis to guide strategic decisions.
Operational Finance
- Implement scalable financial processes and systems across all portfolio companies.

- Establish and maintain a strong internal control environment to safeguard assets, ensure data integrity, and support audit readiness.

- Lead the annual budgeting process and develop rolling forecasts aligned with business objectives including sensitivity analysis.
- Prepare and present accurate, timely financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses to management and stakeholders.
- Build financial models to evaluate growth initiatives, new product development, and capital projects including Return on Investment and analysis for capital projects.
- Ensure costing and quotation models are up-to-date and reflect the business environment, managing inputs such as materials costs, equipment costs, wages, inflation, and foreign exchange impacts.
- Monitor, understand, and forecast fundamental cash flows for the organization.
- Assist the owners and ownership group with future business ventures outside of Garibaldi Glass and other personal or affiliated financial matters as they arise.
Insurance
- Monitor and manage the corporate insurance portfolio and ensure adequate and cost-effective coverage strategies.
- Coordinate credit insurance program including customer limits and related premiums.
- Oversee significant insurance claims.
Financial Reporting and Taxation
- Lead the financial reporting process including production of financial statements, review of monthly financial closing process, and monthly commentaries which focus on the why’s, the root causes and recommend/work with the teams to find corrective measures while driving accountability to achieve the improvement results.
- Manage relationship with statutory accountants and tax authorities.
- Manage and review annual tax returns and related tax filings.
Banking and Treasury Management
- Manage banking relationships, including credit facilities, cash management, and financing arrangements to support working capital and investment needs.
- Ensure compliance with financial covenants, reporting requirements, and treasury best practices.
- Ensure protection of the company’s assets including managing credit risk, monitoring credit limits, and ensure cash management practices mitigate risk of fraud.
Team Leadership and Culture Building
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small finance and administrative team, fostering a high-performance, collaborative, and accountable culture.
- Provide executive leadership of the IT/IS business unit, ensuring its strategy, operations, and team are aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Champion and model our organization’s values, promoting a workplace culture where innovation, respect, and continuous improvement thrive.
- Engage cross-functionally with all departments to ensure financial transparency and operational alignment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- CPA designation or equivalent required.
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally in a manufacturing or similarly dynamic and complex environment.
- Proven success in senior finance roles with a strong track record of making high-impact decisions and delivering measurable results.
- Experience working in a private company environment; experience with family-owned businesses and entrepreneurial cultures is an important asset.
- Strong foundation in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, costing, and financial modeling.
- Advanced understanding of financial statistics, accounting principles, and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong operational acumen and a practical understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory management, job costing, and custom-order workflows.
- Demonstrated experience in managing banking relationships, financing structures, and contract negotiations.
- Proven ability to anticipate financial trends within the organization and in the broader market, advising on long-term strategy and risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop cross-functional teams, including direct oversight of IT/IS functions and technology-driven initiatives
