The Role:
We are currently looking to recruit a full-time Childcare Worker (permanent contract, 37.5 hours per week, 5 over 6) to join our Children and Family team in St Joseph's Childcare Centre, Co. Waterford.
The post holder will have responsibility for providing high-quality early childhood care and education while ensuring a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for all children. Working closely with Senior Childcare Workers, Managers, and other team members, the Childcare Worker plays a key role in supporting individual children and promoting their overall well-being.
The role involves assisting in the planning and implementation of age-appropriate, stimulating activities that foster each child's natural development, in line with Siolta, the National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education, and Aistear, the National Curriculum Framework. All duties are carried out in accordance with the policies and procedures of St. Joseph's Childcare Centre and relevant regulatory standards to ensure the highest level of care and safety.

Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY: The ECE staff, works in collaboration with staff and supervisors when working with families and children, connecting with the community, and assuming childcare responsibilities related to the day-to-day operations of the childcare center. The ECE staff works collaboratively with other early learning programs for SȾÁUTW̱ Education Departments which includes; SȾÁUTW̱ Head Start and I,TOTELṈEW̱,ÁUTW̱ afterschool program. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for ensuring that the centre meets all licensing regulations.

- Records and reports accidents and serious occurrences.
- Monitors children daily to ensure compliance with the Child Care Community Facility Act. This includes ensuring a safe environment is provided for children in terms of their physical, spiritual, emotional and cognitive development.
- Communicates daily with parents and supports families with any questions or issues that arise.
- Respects confidentiality and relates to parents, children and other staff members in a professional and ethical manner.
- Responsible for following policies and procedures for all programs.
- Ensure proper forms are being completed and records are complete.
- Guides and assists children in activities, routines and transition times.

- Prepares and produces written documents to meet program information and communication needs.
- Communicate with Supervisor and family to plan for alternate pick up of late children.

- Regularly check in with parents about children’s day and growth/progress, also reporting any incidents that may have occurred throughout the day

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Early Childhood Education Diploma or degree
- 1 - 2 years’ related experience.
- Registered member in good standing with Early Childhood Education Registry
- Current First Aid/CPR certificate
- Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check is required as a condition of employment
- Knowledge of Child Care Community Care Facility Act and licensing and legislative compliance
