**Your Opportunity**
Our Edmonton office has an opportunity for an Engineer-in-Training within our Community Development Group. Our Community Development group provides services within the City of Edmonton and surrounding region. We work on a wide variety of private sector projects that include residential, industrial, and commercial developments.
**Your Key Responsibilities**
* Provide general engineering support to the Community Development's project management team.
* Design and review sanitary, storm, and water networks.
* Assist the project management team on a variety of projects with work that could include the following tasks: assisting with quantity take-offs and production of tender documents for site grading and site servicing including water distribution, sanitary sewers, storm water management and roadways.
* Assist with preparing earthwork calculations using Civil 3D software.
* Prepare drawings and figures as required using AutoCad software to support the team.
* Communicate with team members from our planning and landscape architecture groups.
* Contribute to project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, clients, and other various project stakeholders, as required.
* Willingness to work in a challenging and fast paced work environment.
* Prepare Erosion & Sediment Control reports.
* Support field activities such as surveying, acting as an on-site observer for construction projects, and establishing constructed quantities.
**Your Capabilities and Credentials**
* The candidate will be highly motivated, willing to work in both an individual and team-oriented environment, and ready to participate in a wide variety of projects.
* Previous field employment experience is an asset, but not necessarily a requirement.
* Strong organizational skills and understanding how to prioritize.
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
* Knowledge and experience of construction projects.
* Creative problem solving and analytical skills.
* Must work well in a team environment and have a collaborative approach.
* Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, and BlueBeam.
* A working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is an asset.
* A valid driver's license.
**Education and Experience**
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
* Minimum of 6 months previous experience in Civil Engineering.
* Registered as an EIT in the Province of Alberta or ability to obtain within the next 6 months.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Position Summary
The LeadCivil Engineer will lead the design and execution of land and site development projects across our growing industrial portfolio. This individual will work closely with the ownership and executive leadership groups to help shape systems, oversee construction, drive approvals, and guide servicing strategies across a large and growing development portfolio.
This role is ideal for a highly agile professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, wants to take ownership of hands-on and high-impact work, and is ready to step into a role that goes beyond traditional design - driving approvals, overseeing construction, and shaping servicing strategies at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil design for industrial land and site development projects.
- Collaborate with ownership, construction, and municipal stakeholders to drive approvals.
- Oversee servicing strategies, grading plans, drainage, and utility coordination.
- Conduct site inspections and feasibility assessments.
- Work closely with construction teams to ensure designs are practical, buildable, and on-budget.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship as the team scales.
- Build and refine internal processes for efficiency and repeatability.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- P.Eng designation in Alberta.
- 7+ years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on land development.
- Demonstrated success in fast-paced, high growth environments.
- Proven track record of delivering subdivision and site servicing projects.
- Deep understanding of grading, stormwater, sanitary, and water systems.
- Effectively navigates municipal approvals and works directly with city staff.

TWD is currently looking for a Civil/Structural Engineer , reporting to the Civil/Structural Engineering Lead. This position could be based in either Edmonton or Calgary, AB.
Responsibilities would include (but not limited to):
- Provide project support through conceptual design, detailed design, construction and completion
- Provide support to business development, giving estimates for completion of engineering per defined scopes of work, and completing work on budget
- Ability to review geotechnical reports and select best foundations, piles, and supports for industrial equipment and piping
- Design of civil/structural systems associated with pump stations, tanks, vessels, piping, and other equipment
- Participate in constructability reviews and construction inspections
- Analyze existing foundations and structures for suitability of additional loads
- Ensure all project deliverables are compliant with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications
- Review drawings and provide input according to civil/structural design requirements
- Prepare calculations, specifications and drawings (both layout and detail drawings)
- Design of pile foundations including screw, cast in place, and driven pile types
- Ensure all drawings and materials are in accordance with specifications and standards, including all applicable codes and regulations
- Produce detailed design drawings and designs for structural steel for pipe supports, access ladders, platforms, equipment supports, etc.
- Effectively work in a multidiscipline environment with minimal supervision
- Field work, site measurements and evaluations as required
Requirements and Qualifications:
- B.Sc. in Civil/Structrual Engineering
- Registered as a P.Eng. with APEGA for the province of AB required
- P.Eng registration with either APEGS or EGBC is an asset
- A minimum of 5 years of applicable experience as a Civil/Structural Engineer
- Experience with 3D design software (Civil 3D, Revit and/or Advanced Steel) is an asset
- Experience working as part of a multiple discipline team for an EPC
