Job Summary Field Service Technicians perform the full range of operations necessary for customer equipment setup, installation, training, support, maintenance, and repairs. Sharp is hiring for 2 Field Technician positions. 1 based out of the Mississauga/Etobicoke area and 1 based out of the Hamilton/Grimsby area. Key Responsibilities * Respond to service requests in a timely manner and provide reliable solutions to problems. * Perform regular maintenance on equipment, either in response to requests from customers or preventatively based on predictions for due maintenance operations. * Assembling new equipment and preparing for delivery to customers as needed. * Installing equipment at customer locations and providing user training. * Update service records with all necessary details for proper tracking of work done, equipment service history, and inventory accuracy. * Repair requests, especially when the equipment is down. Restoring the functionality of equipment is the highest priority. * Maintain and continuously improve technical expertise on equipment models. Qualifications * 3+ years of field service experience is required. This experience must be in servicing the same or similar line of equipment, electro-mechanical or automation systems * Education/equivalent work experience in electronics or a related field is required. * Must have a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle available for use (Mileage is reimbursed). * Must have the ability to work independently. * Must have an analytical thinking ability to properly troubleshoot issues with equipment. * Good communication between team members and customers is essential. * Collaboration and teamwork skills are essential. * Understanding of computer networking technology. * Must have motivation for continuous learning with regards to software updates and technical aspects of the position. * Must have the ability to work in a variety of different settings. * Relevant IT certifications and courses are assets. (i.e. CompTIA A+, CompTIA N+) * Technical expertise – experience or electronics studies is an asset. What is the role?
- System and equipment commissioning and startup, servicing, and Factory Acceptance Testing.
- Performing installation and maintenance activities on membrane system-related equipment.

- Performing basic electrical and programming tasks including but not limited to navigating control panels and troubleshooting and updating PLCs and HMIs.
- Acting as single point of contact for clients, contractors, and Project Management while on site.
- Working with Project Management to ensure all applicable project-related field, QA/QC, and contractual documentation is completed to facilitate project closure.
- Managing site deficiency list, coordinating with project team as required to ensure all items are addressed and finalized prior to leaving site.
- Participating in the development and reviewing of Standard Operating Procedures and Job Hazard Analysis as required for on-site tasks.
- Providing feedback from the field into product development and system design teams for R&D purposes and system improvement.

- Familiar with installation and adjustment of equipment utilized in wastewater treatment plants such as clarifiers, cross collectors, rail systems or similar.

- Ability to climb on or around equipment, bend, reach, and lift (up to 50 lbs) at times.

Summary:

Perform basic maintenance tasks using hand tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, and drills
Communicate with clients in a professional and friendly manner
Document work performed and follow the assigned client route
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Qualifications:
Valid G-Class driver’s license
Experience with manual labor and basic hand tools
Strong customer service and communication skills
Physically capable of handling tools and performing on-site repair work
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Willingness to learn – training provided
Speak Russian and Ukrainian
