Position Overview:

Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing accurate quantity takeoffs and interpreting specifications for project estimation and proposals.

- Develop and distribute requests for quotations (RFQs) to suppliers and subcontractors, and manage responses.

Responsibilities
- Setup and operate total station and GPS instruments for precise lay-out and as-built capture of marine structures, including piles, concrete and steel structures.
- Demonstrate full knowledge of instrument parameters, including EDM settings and prism constants.
- Collect, organize, and record measurements and data to prepare drawings, charts, plans, and analysis of survey data and other construction documents.
- Utilize coordinate geometry expertise, and clear understanding of the relationship in the horizontal and vertical planes of Issued for construction drawings.
- Apply basic knowledge of geodesy and UTM grid's coordinate systems and the translation to local ground coordinate systems.
- Proficiently use setup survey instruments, for data collection, and leverage layout software to support construction process., Ensuring familiarity with Survey department storage, file formats, for further data processing and survey request closure.

Qualifications

- Collaborate with construction and project teams to ensure successful execution and resolution of field issues
- Prepare and deliver timely inspection and investigative reports with clear, actionable findings
- Manage coordination with internal teams to meet project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements
- Communicate effectively with contractors and stakeholders to support project delivery and resolve issues
- Execute technical tasks including drafting and design with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
What you bring to York
- A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 2+ years experience as a civil engineering technologist
- Familiarity with grading, stormwater, sanitary, and water systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with internal teams and municipal staff
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
- Eagerness to grow within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Basic understanding of project documentation and municipal approval processes
- Knowledge of Alberta/Canadian Standards Association (CSA)
